Tour Of The New House Plus Some Twist Clues

I guess it's been almost a year already, because here I sit at my computer about to post my first blog of the season.  Julie Chen did a tour of the new Big Brother 15 house on ET and it's now available for all to see.  The house DOES look quite different this year, but I've never been one that cares too much about that.  The things in the video I Do care about are the hints being dropped to us about twists this year.

The first thing Julie talks about is the missing nomination chairs.  She says this is part of the twist this year. No nominations?!  Hmmm..

She also says that the public will be a huge part of what happens this year and that they will be asked to do something before things even get started.  This whole public voting idea really scares me.  I'm not a fan of the public vote and I'm cringing just thinking about it.  But as I don't know what it's about yet, I'm going to keep my head up and hope for the best.

Julie then says that there will be ONE familiar face this year "but it's not what you think".  That leads me to believe that instead of rehashing a former BB houseguest, they are going to rehash someone from another show...most likely Survivor...sigh..It's not ideal, but it's better than a cast of rehashed former BB players IMO.

Anyway, here it is so you can speculate yourselves.  What do YOU all think is going to happen this season? Anyone excited yet?

So, the viewers get to nominate two HGs for eviction? Someone has been watching other BB shows. Very interesting. Great way to bring controversy and attention to the show. As for the familiar face, hmmm…anyone seen Malcom lately? All new HGs. At least we are getting something we have been asking for over the last couple of seasons. Hopefully, the disappointment will be kept to a minimum this year. Fingers crossed.

It's not Malcolm. Rumor has it that it is somebody who had an early departure a few years ago. Truthfully, I have no problem with that. It's just a minor part of his personal history, and there won't be any "idol worship" (pun intended).

What does have me worried, though, are reports that Rachel's sister may be a part of the cast. I don't need ANYBODY from that family on my TV ever again.

Also, the idea of having the public vote or nom completely depresses me. Never underestimate the intelligence level of our country, as proven by those godawful karaoke talent shows. Anybody with an edge, or somewhat controversial, will be gone first. We'll be left with nothing but catlady-approved Jeff and Jordan types.

Anything I say at this point is pure speculation, but I don't think America gets to nominate 2 HGs. If that were the case they probably wouldn't have done away with the 2 nomination chairs. I'm thinking either no noms, or more than 2 noms. More than 2 nominations at a time could be interesting IF it's not America voting on who gets nominated.

I don't watch Survivor so I don't know anything about Malcolm, but it could be anyone really. Another thing I've thought about is that a lot of previous HGs have twins or siblings that would be a "familiar" face if they were brought in. If I'm going by the rumor mill though, it will likely be a Survivor person.

I'm really excited about the prospect of an all new cast this year, so that's a good thing. My biggest concern is what exactly America will get to vote on or do as far as the game goes. If we are given the chance to vote on things like who is nominated or evicted it will be disastrous. They can basically give a good edit to whomever they want and then have America vote that person on. However, if it's just some silly vote about having someone in the house do something on a weekly basis etc.. I don't care and my disappointment level will be back in the low low numbers again. We shall just have to wait and see at this point.

Can not wait for the new season. Love the new décor but unsure about the lack of the dreaded nomination chairs. Always hate the viewer votes because of the cbs web site. But I did get my live feeds from your links and hope for the best. Hopefully a all new cast without old hamsters or their family.

Well, it definitely won't be 0 noms.

Hi Ash, Hey Scott,
So excited to get this party started. It's about time we get something to dissect and talk about.
Don't care too much for the house. I never have liked 60's Modern Style. I think it is ironic that Julie kept talking about Global this, International that and CBS is only allowing the US to get the feeds.
As for the familiar face it could be someone from Survivor as rumored. I think it maybe a former houseguest that was an early fan favorite that got the boot early. Someone that had potential but didn't get a chance to" Take Off" due to unfortunate circumstances such as, Brian, Kassie, Jody, or Laura. Maybe the viewers will get to vote which one goes in.
As far as viewers influencing the nominations, perhaps they will be able to either give an immunity or get to veto( or not ) a nominee each week. Maybe only up till the jury. That way TPTB will be able to please the fans that get upset about their favorite getting evicted early since they already stated there will be no going back in the game this year. Either that, or the viewers make a nomination as well as the HOH making their 2. It looks like three will fit on that couch. This would prevent the laying low and floating because the HG would have to play to the feed watchers and viewers, and Play for the Veto to save their own ass..If so ,I say we nominate whoever cause the most fishes on the feeds each week.
As far as voting goes ,to be honest, I like that the viewers can influence the game as long as it is someone I like. If it is my least favorite HG, I hate it. I am just hoping it isn't a live twitter vote. That would be unfair to those of us on the West Coast and Old Foggies like myself that don't tweet.
