We Did It!

What a shocking, and hilarious, day! It appears (to some people, at least) that a grass roots effort resulted in success!

To understand what's happening, let's go back to Thursday night's eviction episode. Towards the end of the episode, Julie Chen announced that this week we would be voting for the third nominee instead of a MVP. Big Brother Gossip Show co-host Colette Lala posted on twitter that we should all vote for Elissa, and within minutes the gang here at this board jumped on the bandwagon.

It was great fun for all, as Mike, Barb, and myself posted ridiculous tweet after ridiculous tweet. We were all inundated with replies. Some called us bad names. Others attempted to "correct" us for our "mistake". Most just laughed.

Others joined us in our fun, and it actually became a bit scary as the Brenchel Army attempted to have twitter take away some accounts. For the most part, though, it was great fun, and we all retweeted the highlights of the replies. My tweets became more and more ridiculous, with ties to catladies, orphaned puppies, and Congressional proclamations. Some still didn't get it.

Did we ever believe that our fun would result in what we desired? I can say that I never thought it would happen. Yet earlier today, it was announced that Elissa was indeed the third nominee this week.

Let's analyze this a bit. Nobody believes that Elissa actually got the highest number of votes. That was clearly Aaryn, who was already nominated. The already-nominated Kaitlin may have even received the second highest vote total. If CBS is being honest, that would mean the person with the highest number of votes not already on the block would become the new nominee. That was Elissa.

Even without our shenanigans, she would probably have gone up. For one, despite the fact that the family name guarantees her an advantage in any poll, there are also a ton of people that are not fans of her or her sister. There are also Big Brother purists who are angry at the advantage that she has being Rachel's sister. Then there are those that don't care about her legacy but aren't impressed with her accomplishments this season. Here competition record is 0 for 9, by the way.

Then there are those who didn't read the rules, and just voted for Elissa like they have done this entire season. Chen's announcement was almost an aside. I for one didn't actually hear it until I saw twitter explode. The polls also opened before the West Coast feed aired. The combination of mistaken votes AND anti-Brenchel fans added up to put her where she is this very moment.

It's also probably the correct move, as Elissa has been acting even weirder than normal the last couple of days. She was clearly upset that she wasn't called into the diary room to make her MVP vote last night. She dolled up for nothing! This morning, she had the weirdest conversation I've ever heard when she told Judd that she's a production plant who knows everything that is going to happen. For more on that, and everything else that has happened this week, tune in to the Big Brother Gossip Show at 10 pm ET!

Barb, flashback to around 9:20 or so this morning. Maybe a couple of minutes later.

I think the scenario you put out is correct. Brenchel Army voted for the other 2 that are nominated. Maybe even splitting their votes. The TV only viewers probably voted for Aaryn. Live viewers ( tThe ones that dont like her) most likely voted enough to get Ellissa third which is where you wanted her for this. I gotta watch the replay to see that comment. I did see a bunch of them talking in the HOH trying to figure out what Ellissa was so excited about after DR visit.

Just watched that part. It was weird. She claimed not to be Rachels sister at one point. She also said she was there to mess things up. Too bad she is confessing to Judd. He is a idiot. He did say " What have you messed up". Her only answer was she was orchestrating the whole thing. She is either lying to distract or she lost her mind.

You DIDN'T DO IT! SHE WON POV! Karma sucks huh? Disgusting people like you make this world the way it is. Someone else is GOING UP! And I don't care who!

I don't have strong feelings about Elissa either way. She can stay or go. Now that she no longer has the MVP power, I think she's on equal footing with the other house guests.

BUT, how predictible that she won POV. Will be curious to watch the competition to see if BB could have thrown it to her.

What DOES fascinate me is that now America's third or fourth choice to evict will be placed up for nomination. I'm guessing Amanda. And I think if Amanda goes up, Amanda could go home. Aaryn and Kaitlin have already been severed from their showmances and they have limited power in the house. Amanda is the only remaining "power" couple with McCrae and she is too assertive with attempting to force her decisions upon the decision makers (HOH & MVP). I think they might want to use the opportunity to get her out without having the blood on her hands of even putting her on the block.

A tweet read, "Elissa won the veto! so you can all relax now - MVP vote is another non-issue "? How is MVP vote a non-issue? The MVP nominated David in week one. David went home. MVP nominated Nick in week two. Nick went home. And those were when the MVP was not aligned with the HOH. When they all worked together, in week three the MVP choice was designed for the success of the backdoor option. And that worked too. Now, despite Judd's nominations, America's pick to be evicted may very well be the one who goes home. How is that a non-issue? This game and its outcome would be completely different right now were it not for the MVP option. Even this week, when America gets the vote, it remains pivotal.

I've said this from day one, and I'll repeat it here.

I wouldn't mind Elissa being in the house if it wasn't for MVP. Conversely, I wouldn't mind MVP if Elissa wasn't in the house. The combo is unfair, especially when her sister is a guest columnist for a national magazine.

If MVP is now gone, then everybody is back to a somewhat even playing field.

Hey man, you know how we felt about the post. We chatted about it last night! I think it's all worked out kinda funny, but I did wanted to stop and say to poor pitiful Semprasectum (wtf) if Ellisa is making your life so miserable and the show unwatchable, I feel sooooo bad for you. Your life must be just unbearable. It's so horrible of her to come on that show and do that to you! I bet she did it on purpose. I bet Rachel told her about you and it's a conspiracy! You know what I'd do if I were you? Turn off your f...ing TV or watch something else if you hate her that bad you DA! Some of us like her so get a life!!!

Oh Katie. You're just being silly.

I'm assuming there is somebody you don't like on the show. Maybe because you don't like that person you should "turn off your f...ing TV or watch something else if you hate her that bad you DA! Some of us like her so get a life!!!"
