The Night Owl

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you your final 3...after the eviction tonight that is:

Three hours after the airing of last night's extremely poorly edited show (which I could go on about for hours) the feeds returned.  It only took three additional hours after that to find out that Andy had won POV in addition to HOH.  We also learned that Spencer and McCrae are nominated.

Most of the night was spent talking about useless things that nobody (or at least I don't) cares about, but there were a few moments here and there where people were pulled to the side and game was talked.  GinaMarie and Spencer had a chat in the bathroom in which they agreed that they need to take each other to the final two if they can because neither of them can beat Andy.  Andy had a short conversation with McCrae up in the HOH room where McCrae pitched to him that GinaMarie might easily be able to win with her eviction of Amanda.  He also stated that even though Spencer would probably take Andy to the final two, no one knows what GM will do, and he could guarantee Andy that he would take him.  Andy didn't tell him anything specific and just said he would know by morning what he was going to do with the veto.

Shortly after those conversations took place, McCrae was called to the DR and the remaining Exterminators had a meeting and tried to decide if they should tell McCrea right then or wait until the next day to tell him that he is the one leaving.  They eventually decided it would be better to tell him after the HOH lockdown but before the live episode sometime today.

So that's pretty much it.  McCrae will most likely be leaving tonight, and then it will just be a matter of who wins the final HOH and who they decide to take with them.  I'm a little sad to see McCrae go. I felt like he had SO much potential at the beginning of the season, and obviously he could have played a better game since he started pulling out all these comp wins once he needed to.  I'm not as mad as most people are though.  I think regardless of liking him personally or not, Andy has played a good game and I wouldn't mind seeing him win it.  Again, that's just my opinion, no need to freak out.  I also think GinaMaire has done okay.  Is it win worthy in my opinion? No, but I've seen worse brought to the final 3 and 2 before.  Again, I'm not talking personal, I'm just talking game.  I hate that I have to clarify that so much this year.  I think Spencer is playing for second place no matter what unless the jury is just super bitter against Andy or GinaMarie...and I don't think that will be the case.  Regardless, I'm going to stop rambling until after the eviction.  Until tomorrow night...

I think Andy is a very deserving F3 (and would be a deserving winner). He played both sides of the house behind the scenes until an opportunity presented itself to strike at some big targets (Amanda, Elissa) and he took it. His game play was clearly superior to any other HG this summer (which, I suppose, may not be saying that much, but you can only beat your competition). Some might want to call him a rat, but there has been a level of manipulation and game awareness with Andy that hasn't generally been the case for most "rats" that play BB.

That said, I don't think he'll win. Like with Dan last year, the jury could easily be too bitter and angry at him to get the votes. If that's the case, GM would probably be more likely than Spencer to win (although if the jury is bitter enough, who knows...).

Also thanks for the rational and reasonable observations and analysis of the show all summer. You didn't let whatever biases you might have had affect your work (unlike many, many others who do what you do) and I appreciated that you didn't just write off the season as a lost cause once a certain overrated HG left on a double eviction last week.

TY Steve. I agree with you for the most part, and your complements mean a LOT to me. I definitely wouldn't write off BB because anyone left whether I liked them or not. I wasn't an Elissa fan at all, but even if I was I wouldn't write off the season. My favorite from a personal standpoint is gone now, but I'm still here. I'm a BB addict for sure. Might as well stick with it until the end. =)

Honestly, I still say that the TWO best players in this season are Andy and McCrae. The only reason that Andy will not keep McCrae is that he knows if it were him and McCRae f2, McCrae would win. Some of you might not agree with this but I saw some of Ian's game play in Andy's game, just more of it. Cudos to Andy for pulling it off. I am sorry that McCrae will not make it to f2.

Please o please have a spencer and GM f2!!! After a season like this, I need a little satisfaction of having the rat come in 3rd place!!! I would have rooted for him to win since he's winning a lot now BUT his continued bashing of Elissa even after she was evicted was childish and beyond annoying!!! I will use every last prayer I know to wish Andy loses the last HOH!!!

I am certainly upset that McCrae is going now. As you know Ash, I've been team Elissa from the beginning and I was bitter when she left. I really thought I could stop watching the feeds, but big brother is a great game whether my favorite is still playing or not. I definitely am not giving Andy any credit for playing a good game at all, he floated the entire way and would have continued floating had Elissa &GM not made a move for McCranda. That is just my opinion also.

I have never watched the live feeds ever until this season and I will never watch a season without them again, hopefully Big Brother USA is going to continue after all of the controversy this year.

Ash I am so glad that I found you on Twitter because you truly are the number one source for my morning read, I enjoy all of the Big Brother Gossip Blogs but yours is the one I look forward too most.

I am excited to see who will be the winner, I personally don't want Andy to win but chances are he will, unless like you said, the jury is bitter. Even though GinaMarie, Spencer and Andy have done and said some unbelievable things this season, they are the ones who got this far and from a game standpoint GinaMarie should win, she fought hard. If Spencer should win he would deserve it for managing to be the surviving pawn. I just hope Andy loses and GM and Spencer make it to final two together, because I've Andy makes it to final two then he probably will win. ( personal opinion)

Thanks again Ash
Ash thank you for your excellent synopsis. I look forward to your posts every day and I will be sad when the season ends. Thanks for not giving up! Its been an interesting season.

Thanks so much Crystal! Rumor is that BB 16 will probably be happening. It's still a rumor, but I think it will. I hope so anyway. =)

Thanks Sue! I have a really good time commenting on BB. =)

McCrae deserves to lose. That last HOH question was simple multiplication. Andy is on a role and will probably be it. Thank you Ash for the best blog!!

I cant believe the season is almost done. who would have thought this would have been the final four.? when the show first started I too thought mccrae had potential then the stupid showmance (do not like that term) happened. I guess I don't care who wins, but I am interested in how the jury will vote.

I do have a question Ash, why do you think ginamarie's injuries haven't been mentioned on the show? i thought when judd mentioned she was hurt, he looked like it was an "oops" & then no response from Julie.

i have said this many times, i couldn't have made it through the season without this site.

Thank you so much Ash! What a fun season. I have been rooting for Andy for quite some time! He really makes me laugh. So many BB fans are too consumed with floater-bashing! Floating can actually require some very good social skills. It's a tool to use to get you to the f2, if your talented enough. Floaters are "used" by the more aggressive players. They just aren't as concerned with entertaining us. I say get the cash however you can! Thanks again for your updates and insightful posts. Now on to Survivor! Yay!

Andy has played a great game. He didn't float the way everyone thinks he did. Floaters float to safety and lay low. Andy didn't do that. He brought information to his alliances. Without him, his alliances would have crumbled. He singlehandedly kept the McCranda alliance afloat with the information he brought to Amanda. At the same time, he singlehandedly destroyed that alliance when he realized it wasn't useful to him anymore.

People rarely get away with the type of game that Andy's playing. Remember Shellie? Andy has skillfully played both sides of the house against each other without getting the target on his back. Floaters don't do what he's done. They do what Spencer has done.

McCrae has a case to win the game, but he won't survive past this eviction. No one else has a case but Andy. He was the second best strategist this game behind Amanda, and easily the best social player.

Should Andy win, his will be one of the top 5 best strategic games in BB history, based on his skillfulness and level of difficulty.

I agree with what steve said. I would be on team andy if he was more cunning. All the crying and worrying makes me think he is more floater than player. I don't thing anyone is thrilled with the final 3. I thought the game was scheduled to end on the 25th so is it possible it got moved up a week due to the loss of interest from viewers? If it was Ellisa and Amanda they would drag this shit out for weeks.

thanks for the OWL it really makes the show more fun and your personal take on the game is the reason why I read the blog. You should never have to apologize for saying what you think.

Thanks Ash, I hope your time in BB feed watching rehab goes well and you come back to civilization a happy productive person. Remember one day at a time.

This show was very disappointing in terms of gameplay and houseguests. I hope it's not a sign of the times.

The season always ends on a Wednesday, so the 21st was the plan from the beginning.

i believe no one deserves to win, they are all a bunch of idiots.....

All my co-workers at work, were big fans, but if Andy wins, we will not be
watching this show again.....

Perfectly said, Ben!

There are fans of the show and then fans of individual contestants. I am a fan of the show. The fans of the individual contestants are here today, gone tomorrow. Don't want to watch the show because Elissa's gone? Good riddance.

Overall, I've enjoyed the season. All newbies with one or two "royal PITA" inserted. Lots and lots of alliances. The pretties get evicted first. Some major personalities and drama. It was a decent season, overall.

Is the winner someone I could support? No. Spencer and Gina have said some nasty things I can't put aside and Andy is too whiny. But never fear . . . looking forward to BB16!

Thanks so much for all the comments and complements! You guys are awesome! <3

Mjude - Last night's edit overall was just really weird. I'm not sure why they left out that GinaMarie got hurt. It was one of the biggest reasons she stayed over Judd. Andy and Spencer were originally going back and forth a little (more Spencer than Andy since Andy has a final 2 with GinaMarie) but her getting that injured made them pretty certain they could beat her in F3, so they decided to definitely keep her based on that and the fact that she would be after McCrae for sure. They also edited it to look like McCrae didn't know about/condone Judd's last ditch effort speech ..which was kind of the whole point of it. I just really didn't get it.

I love nerds, but not on reality TV. I want funny, intelligent, crazy, angry, Judd said...all Andy does is cry...BORING.
September 12, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterNancy
Ash, they would have never shown McCrae's knowledge of the upcoming speech. It takes away their dramatic TV moment.
September 12, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterScott
