Big Brother Gossip Show #314: Amanda Zuckerman Interview

We promised a very special post-season episode, and we really did deliver. For her first interview, Amanda Zuckerman appeared on our show and answered EVERYTHING! I mean everything, including answering the various rumors surrounding her in-house and out of house life.

You can grab this very special episode from the usual sources, including itunes and Stitcher.

I'd like to thank Amanda for her appearance, along with Mike and Colette for their interviewing skills! What fun this was!

Let me paraphrase the podcast.Amanda good, Elissa bad. WOW really. What a waste of time.

I'm loving all these comments. Thanks everyone for listening - even the haters. You guys have proved far better than I ever could why a player as outspoken and polarizing as Amanda makes the game interesting again. You were glued to the feeds just as much as I was. Every cast needs a villain or else you get a steaming pile of boring like BB14.

And, for the record, nowhere in my blogs or on the podcast have I ever claimed to be unbiased, fair or nonjudgmental. Judgmental is what I do! It's what I've done for the past 5 years and it's worked remarkably well for me. Some sites/fans don't play favorites. I have NEVER claimed to be like them. I'm ok with people disagreeing with me. In fact, I encourage it. How boring would it be if we all nodded our heads and muttered, "How nice. I agree. What a pleasant show!" Comments like that are more offensive to me than all of your ire put together.

So, thank you for listening! Keep commenting. You're making us a talking point and I truly appreciate it. It lets me/us know that we're doing something right. There is no better stamp of approval than a flurry of hits and comments. You guys rock!

I smell jealousy and antisemitism. I'm totally into comedy and most Jews have a unique sense of humor. Humor that most dorks don't get. Lighten up...we can't help it if you don't get it. Amanda is more intelligent and more funny than any of you trite little fools so get over it.

Ummm- female interviewer more interested in her own words than what her guest says.

I think that Andy is barely mentioned speaks Volumes.

And if you are not an Amanda fan, please spare us your disparaging remarks. There are fan sites for people like you-elsewhere.

you guys need to learn to interview better, you would constantly talk over each other and mike would blank out in the middle of asking a question then forget what his point was. I was truly looking forward to this and it was a bit of a let down.

I am seeing a lot of defensiveness for someone who wants us to think that all is rosy. Why are you working so hard to says the comments are not bothering you, if all is so good?

For the next poster, I am Jewish, and I see no anti-Semitism going on or jealousy, I see people commenting on the podcast and what occurred and how it is deceptive. What I see from you is someone trying to hide behind Judaism. I am not sure if you are Jewish or not, but you seem to be telling us that racist jokes and bigotry are ok, that it's all in humor, and that if someone joked about ovens that we should just laugh, is that what you are saying? Sorry, I don't agree with you that Jewish people have a better sense of humor than others.

For the poster just before this one, are you telling us this is an Amanda Fan site? Hmmmm never could have told by the name of the site, but, you may be right after listening to the podcast.

Land, hate comments are par for the course. I expect them during Big Brother. It comes with the territory. I'm the type of the person that would rather get 100 hate comments than no comments at all. I'm not sure how to explain this to you in a way you'll understand because I have a feeling you've made up your mind about me long before I left a comment here.

When I first started blogging, the hate comments really bothered me. But over the years I've learned that any sort of comment/reaction is better than being ignored. It took a while for me to get to that place - I completely own up to it! But at this point I've written hundreds of blogs about reality television and I've learned, along the way, how to navigate the terrain, what to let roll off my back and what to get upset over. Nowadays, comments about my punctuation hurt me far more than someone else disagreeing with my opinion.

Am I a great interviewer? Probably not. I was stiff and too self aware last season of the Big Brother Gossip Show. This season I went in the opposite direction and the response has been great. I'm still learning! Hopefully next season I can iron out the wrinkles and improve. In the meantime, I'll still thank you for listening. I'm sorry if that offends you.

From reading comments, we can all tell that moderators are Amanda fans. Glad she had some. From the feeds, and the live shows, she just was too abrasive of a personality for me. She appeared to bully others, and with that, she mentioned digs from others, yet she gave, but did not appear to be able to take well, and that is normally the case with a bully. With that said, it was her game play.

I just have to say I really enjoyed this interview very much. You have done a great job throughout the season.
Everyone has to realize this is an interview with Amanda, and everything is from Amanda's experience. There were times throughout the season that I loved Amanda and then hated her. She was great entertainment. In the end, this is just a reality show and should be viewed as such. See you all next season.

Why did amanda get upset the night of the birthday party? She was trying to look like a slutty stripper and elissa told her she accomplished it, case closed. Amanda says she is a strong woman, no she is a bully and when she can't do her own dirty work she demands other people do it (ex:don't talk to that person). Bringing in other peoples families has nothing to do with game play. She was a person looking for attention when she went into the house. When she found out elissa was Rachel's sister she had to resort to other means. One last thing if you don't want personal matters talked about don't mention them on national tv

@danielle. You are Jewish...give me a break!! You know nothing of humor, so quit trying. I'm tied of the disparaging remarks also. I didn't realize how pathetic some fans can be. Are your lives so empty that all you can do is criticize. Whatever you look for, you will find. LOOK FOR THE FUNNY. Life will open up for you then.

nothing that serious with the "relationship" before McCrae.. Has any one seen her instagram with all the pictures of her love..? WEEKS before the show and what not..
September 22, 2013 | Unregistered Commenterkaymay
Um. yeah. Amanda is still the vile woman she was on the show. her apologies meant nothing. her excuses mean nothing. she still has no class. she still shows jealousy. she still lies. not impressed with this person at all. I so wanted to like her in the beginning. I defended her in the BB chat rooms for weeks in the beginning. then her true self came out. not a nice or classy woman at all.

This is nothing more than an Amanda Zuckerman suck up session, there is no expectation that what we heard is truth either. Its the same Amanda that we saw on Live feeds but with her rabid fans encouraging her nasty vile behavior.

Again we watched the live feeds and Amanda's exaggeration of Elissa's behavior just makes Amanda looks more like a bully and a liar.

So glad you did an interview with Amanda! Absolutely love her! Amanda thank you for being so great with your fans. You are a bb alumni fans dream!!
September 22, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterNhelton
Come on fans...can't you show just a little bit of imagination in your criticisms. I keep hearing the same stupid words over and over. What's the average IQ here...90?
September 22, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterNancy
Thanks for the podcast. I was excited to hear it from the tweets, but it is biased. The responses to tweets you received stating its biased makes listening to this even less enjoyable.
September 22, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterNick
Looks like your prediction of 50/50 for biased is WAY off. your interview was way too soft because it did not touch on her absolutely nasty behaviour behind Jess/Candice and Elissa's backs. you all know which events I mean. I watched the feeds and she was vile about so many things and she WAS racist - it doesn't matter if she is a jew and said she was joking...those comments just arent funny!!! She says she was just being real on the feeds and if that is the real Amanda then shame on her!!!!!!
September 22, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterDebbie
Could you try to find your way out of her butt to ask a decent question? "I am not a racist" does not excuse her responsibility for what she said in the house. You did not even mention the things she said. A blanket apology is NOT a decent apology.

I would hate for her and McCrea to be on TAR because other countries and cultures might associate her attitude as mainstream America.

And no I am not an Elissa fan. I was on board the Amanda train until her psychotic craziness started showing.

Great comments pro and con! Keep them coming. The wide gap between 'loved it" and "hated it" speaks volumes as to what a polarizing figure Amanda was.

We have never denied we enjoyed Amanda on the show - Colette most of all.

Yes I know I suffered a bit from my excitement to talk to Amanda - I wanted to tell her things I didn't think she knew yet and spoke over her a few times. Wish I could do it better but we recorded it in one take and she gave us almost 3 hours of her post-BB life. For his part Scott was reminding me NOT to talk over Amanda.

Again - thanks for the comments!
September 22, 2013 | Registered CommenterIndyMike
I'm still meandering thru these comments and some of these criticisms sound like they come from dried up, nitpicking old ladies who have nothing to do but look for other younger peoples mistakes. Just LOOK at yourselves, aren't you the least bit embarrassed?
September 22, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterNancy
Debbie - on my twitter feed the comments are 50/50 or possibly even slightly more positive. People are always more likely to take the time to write about something they disliked as opposed to something they liked :)
September 22, 2013 | Registered CommenterIndyMike
Sorry... hated it.. very suck upish... and NO I'm not an Elissa fan (can't say I did not smile when she won America's choice)
September 22, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterRobinPickles
I enjoyed this interview. I wasn't an Amanda fan, still not, but I appreciate her being so candid and honest. I listened to the podcast throughout the season so I already knew Colette was an Amanda fan. To be fair I initially did like her game play, but she lost me soon after. I did enjoy watching her act a mess on the feeds though. The inside information about the show was cool to hear also, she revealed quite a bit! Thanks!!!!

Love is blind; hate is deaf.

Absolutely a real and great interview!
