We Do It For the Fans!

Although I try to be an equal-opportunity snark, human nature precludes that I'll set my spears on an individual or two. In the past, it's primarily been the vets that have in my mind ruined the game. This year, it was initially Elissa as I didn't think the MVP twist was fair to the rest of the house (plus I feel that family's fanbase is batshit crazy). As the season has progressed, others have popped in and out of my sarcastic radar.

At the end of the day, though, I really don't care who wins. I just want there to be a combination of interesting people at the end so I don't lose interest. Seriously, the idea of a Helen/Andy/Candice finale is a nightmare scenario. There has to be one "villain" to last to the end, even if they have no chance of actually winning.

Many people, though, seem incapable of looking at this game in any other vision than the eyesight of their favorite player. Anybody that is against that person is evil incarnate, and that person's fan base should be ridiculed, condemned, or, in the case of twitter, sabotaged by reporting it to twitter as abusive.

It's bullshit, people. Enjoy which ever player you want, and dislike those you truly don't like, but don't lecture others that don't think like you. Why should it matter? It would be REALLY boring if we all thought the same.

What set me off today? It's an issue that's been festering for days, especially after the discovery that the family's of a good portion of the case are being harassed at all hours of the day and night. I'm not just talking about those that have used questionable language, either. Portions of the Big Brother community have turned into complete morons. There used to be an unspoken rule that families are to remain off limits, but apparently that's no longer the case.

Furthering my anger at the community is the reactions I'm reading to Amanda freaking out at being the MVP nomination. As her critics salivate at being able to spend their entire day over-tweeting about how much they hate her, they also are digging in to toss the same kind of verbal grenades at those who do like her.

So let me toss this out at you. This MVP thing is a mindfuck now that it's not a weekly Elissa event. They're all freaked out about the identity of the "person" making this pick. Yes, Amanda is over-the-top paranoid about the identity of who nominated her. Isn't that natural?

What would happen if the MVP had been Helen? She'd be crying to some people, and interogating others. Or both. If it had been Candice, there's be another episode of her silly fake show where she'd attempt to call everybody out. Eliisa would run to the diary room to get answers from her buddies.

The point is that any of them would be acting out in some way. None of them would look calm or gracious. I'm not saying that you can't criticize or poke fun at their reactions. But to say that person's fans are "delusional" for simply being disappointed or raising questions on how this happened is ridiculous.

MVP Nomination and POV

The MVP nomination was made this morning and once again it is Amanda that was put up by America.

Her initial reaction seemed calm however once the POV is played & if she doesn't win it - we may see he get upset once again.

Besides Amanda, Candice, Jesse and HoH GinaMarie playing for the POV, Spencer and Judd will be playing as well.

Check out the feeds and see for yourself what the HGs are thinking - links to sign up are all over the site or you can sign up by clicking here.

Our weekly Big Brother Podcast will be on tonight at 10pm Eastern.  We should know who the POV winner is at that time.  If we find out earlier one of use will update this post or make a new one!!

The Night Owl

Surprise! Your new HOH is the cinnamon eating, FroYo guzzling, not able to digest water, GinaMarie.

So what happens when you keep evicting all the boys and then you add alcohol?  A really interesting fight night!

When GinaMarie first came back into the house after winning her HOH, she and Aaryn immediately started talking about who the nominations would be and it was between Candice and either Spencer or Jessie with Candice being the target.  We all knew that though.  In the other room, Amanda and McCrae started to talk about how they wanted to get Aaryn to get in GinaMarie's ear to try and go through with their backdoor Judd plan, but both agreed that they may not be able to push their agenda this week and might just have to lose Candice or Spencer.

Everybody did the go see GinaMarie's HOH room thing.  Spencer talked through his bullhorn (he got a punishment that requires him to only talk through it  until after noms).  GinaMarie got her desired picture of Nick as part of her HOH, Helen debated on who to take to her BBQ party she won by falling early in the HOH comp, and the have-nots got to eat.

Shortly after the have-nots started eating, alcohol arrived.  Candice, Amanda, Elissa, and Helen were all drinking wine of course.  Right after the drinking began, Jessie joined Amanda, McCrae, Andy, and Judd in the cockpit. She started crying because she did not understand why Helen had invited Aaryn to her BBQ party instead of Jessie.  She started getting really snappy with Andy who later said he felt like it was another "it's the ultimate disrespect to sit on a Texan's hat" moments.   Judd tried to calm her down and asked her if there was anything he could do for her.  She snapped at  him with "Maybe if I could take pills I would be happy TOO!" (talking about the meds he takes for anxiety).  She then exited the cockpit saying "I don't even want to be int his house anymore!".

While my brain was still trying to figure out what crazy train Jessie was riding, all of the sudden a fight erupted in the kitchen and Amanda and Candice started screaming at each other about Howard leaving.  Amanda was yelling about her being sad about it and telling her why he had to go, THEN she yelled out what Howard supposedly said to her in the kitchen (which cut to fish of course).  When the feeds returned from fish, they went several more rounds about Howard and alliances etc...   Amanda yelled at Candice about trying to flip the house and told her that she made Judd look shady and Jessie look shady etc.. etc..  Candice snapped back with a lot of replies and also implied that Jessie was the one that came to THEM with the idea to flip the house. Not the other way around.  After the fight had gone on for a while, Helen of course felt the need to jump in with her two cents also.  When the yelling was finally over, Amanda, Helen, and Elissa marched up to the HOH room while Judd and Andy stayed in the kitchen to comfort Candice.

While Andy and Judd comforted Candice, a hen fest of bitching started up in the HOH room with Amanda, Helen, Elissa, GinaMarie, McCrae, and Aaryn.  They were all re-telling the stories at once and basically sealing the deal to put up Candice and Jessie tomorrow for nominations.

This HOH bash session went on for quite a while, and then it SEEMED like things were calming down a little when Helen and Elissa went down to the kitchen to drunkenly talk to Candice about how bad they felt evicting Howard and how they are not all working together etc..

Then the feeds went to fish for a while for BB to re-open the backyard.  When the feeds came back, Amanda and Jessie were screaming at each other, and it was dirty!!  Jessie accused Amanda of being a bully, Amanda called Jessie a slut and told her to close her legs as well as accusing her of being after McCrae.  Jessie told Amanda she wasn't the one sitting outside in her freaking underwear all the time.

Then the feeds cut to fish again. Only audio was coming through on a lot of the fights, so unfortunately I don't have many screen caps to show you.  When the feeds returned, instead of being on the backyard fight with Jessie and Amanda, they were on the bedroom where Candice was again sobbing about what Amanda told Candice Howard had said to her.

Then feeds cut again for probably 20 minutes.  When they came back all 4 feeds were on the HOH with GinaMarie and Helen talking about the fact that Jessie and Amanda were still apparently screaming at each other in the back yard, but no one wants to be out there.  I WANT TO SEE IT!!

The fight between Jessie and Amanda has been going on for over 30 minutes now but ou only hear glimpses now and then when someone opens the door to the BY because for SOME reason they will not show the BY and instead keep cutting to fish or all 4 feeds on Helen eating in the HOH room etc..   I am giving up out of frustration. The last thing I heard was about 10 minutes ago when Amanda yelled "You are acting like a psychopath!" to Jessie.

I know one thing.  Guess who is sitting pretty again compared to this past week?  This guy:

Spencer is situated pretty good now as well.  The crazy known as Candice and Jessie are sinking themselves, and Amanda seems to be on a mission to take herself down with them.

If the feeds turn to what is actually happening and I get to see anything more, I will post a follow-up, but for now I'm going to give up and just post what I have.  As always you guys can follow me on twitter @ashes2ashes13 for more overnight feed updates.   I expect to see Jessie and Candice nominated sometime this morning.  Until tomorrow night...

More Drama on a Tuesday

The last two Tuesday's have been busy in the drama department on the Big Brother Live Feeds

Amanda has been extremely paranoid since she went up for nomination on Saturday and she is convinced that Howard is the MVP and thus nominated her.  Spencer meanwhile has been trying to get the votes together to vote Amanda out and thus keep both Howard and Candice safe.  The problem is that there aren't enough people that want to go against Amanda, McCrae, Helen, etc etc.  Judd and Andy have lied to Spencer though and let him think they might be willing to flip and vote Amanda out.  Because they are mostly loyal to Amanda, she knows that Spencer has been campaigning to get her out.

Today around 12:29 Amanda confronted Spencer and sorta accused him of going after her.  Spencer lied and maintained that he was going after Candice.  After 30 mintues of arguing Amanda pretty much told Spencer that if anyone voted for her to go on Thursday she would be coming after him.  She also implied she wouldn't come after him if no one voted for her.  Problem is there aren't many people left on the 'wrong' side of the house for Amanda to go after.   This is a discussion well worth checking out so if you have the Live Feeds tune in and watch.

A couple hours later Candice, who had heard Spencer said he was voting for her, called a house meeting where she read Spencer the riot act.  She of course had been approached by Spencer with the plan to try to vote out Amanda.  Spencer should have admitted he told her that in front of everyone with the excuse of, "What was I supposed to say to you? I wanted you out?"  But instead he denied he said anything like she accused him of.  After she was done tearing into Spencer, Howard announced he still wanted to 'self evict' - and rambled on and on about how people weren't playing the game the right way and he'd rather just go (and yet he is still in the house... hmmmm).  Its another place to check out - point your player to 3pm to hear Candice bawl Spencer out in front of the entire house.

The last event worth checking out is a bit controversial.  We only see a brief glimpse of Howard whispering to Amanda around 5:10pm on Camera 4 - then the cam cuts away and you have to switch to Cams 1/2 - after Howard walks away Amanda tells Andy and Judd that Howard whispered something to the effect of wanting to hook up with her after the show. All we can go on is Amanda's word for now and I suspect this will never be seen on the CBS show.  Watch it and decide for yourself!

Howard is still on a path to head home on Thursday.  Aaryn is upset because she wants Candice to go and feels she has no control. Of course thats her own fault for keeping her 'deal' with Amanda and Helen to be kept safe and put up people they wanted.

Wash, Rinse, Repeat

The only thing which I didn't want to have happen last Thursday (July 25, 2013, during #BB15 episode 13) is exactly what happened: Aaryn won Head of Household. Again.

This newbie's preference would have been for either of the following:

- For Amanda, Andy, Candice, Elissa, GinaMarie, Howard, Jessie, or Spencer to win ... so that we could see how things would go in the house from an entirely different perspective, since they have not yet served as HOH. For example, I don't think I've heard Jessie say more than about ten words in the many hours I've watched the live feeds since starting around July 17. She doesn't seem to get much air time. McCrae gets air time ... but given how often he sleeps (usually not alone), his part in this show apparently isn't a speaking role.

- For Helen to get HOH again ... because she's my favorite house guest, and I hadn't bought in to #BB15 yet when she served in that role the first time.

The cameras give the most attention to whomever the HOH is and to the noisiest, most controversial, and/or most scheming of the house guests. When they're bothering to focus on talk, that is.

The feeds seem to devote hours to Amanda and McCrae sleeping (or ... not) under the covers during the day. Why don't they let us listen into more conversations? With 12 people there, isn't there pretty much somebody talking somewhere in the house? Their conversations don't have to be about the game to be more interesting than watching people nap (or ... not).

My first exposure to Big Brother -- not just during #BB15, but ever -- was when news of Aaryn's distasteful speech spilled over into mainstream media a few weeks ago, so I didn't exactly leap for joy when she was re-crowned. (Neither did most of the other house guests, if I read them right.) Just when I was getting into the show, it felt like we'd be in only for a summer rerun.

Even a newbie wonders if the producers conspire to give people like Aaryn more air time for spurious reasons. Being attractive can't hurt ratings.

All right, all right -- maybe not Helen again, even though my enthusiasm about her remains high. Not Helen or McCrae or Judd or Aaryn.

Why don't they disqualify previous Heads of Household from HOH competitions? As a newbie, it feels like the advantages to the show of an always-different-HOH would outweigh the disadvantages. Or if they're going to leave it open to everyone, should they make it extra difficult for previous HOHs to win?

How would you change HOH eligibility? Or should they leave it as-is? Comment below or hit me @uselesstraffic.

The Night Owl

Wow, what a day/night.  So, I might as well start by saying Amanda woke up with a bug up her ass about Judd today.  After her fight with McCrae last night involving them deciding that they don't exactly trust Judd, she apparently woke up in the exact same mindset and then things just snowballed and she talked about him ALL. DAY. LONG.

When the feeds came back from trivia after the POV ceremony, Candice was on the block as expected, but to be honest I have only seen Candice maybe twice today and both times she was horizontal and fighting with Howard about something.  Amanda however was front and center on the cameras after the nomination ceremony.  Early in the morning she had spoken with both Judd and Andy separately about the conversation they had with Spencer and Howard the night before.  Andy being the blabbermouth tattletale that he is of course told her every detail he could muster.  Judd told her the basic jist of the conversation. He told her what Howard was pitching and that they had fake aligned but that he was of course still on board to get Howard out.  What he DIDN'T say to Amanda was that they were pitching for him to vote out Amanda and all the reasons they listed for him to do so.

After the veto ceremony Amanda ran to McCrae to tell him that Judd had LIED to her because he didn't tell her all the details that Andy did.  She told him that she was going to chill out and give him the chance to tell her the truth again but that she didn't think he would do it.  McCrae told her to stop talking game and lay low so that she doesn't turn the house on her with her paranoia.  Amanda then ran upstairs and in front of everyone asked Judd to come have a talk with her.  She basically asked him "isn't there anything else you want to tell me about the conversation you had with Howard and Spencer.  Judd told her that he had not wanted her to worry because she was already on the block, but that they HAD in fact pitched reasons for them to vote her to.  He told her it was a stupid deal though and that there was no way he would take it or turn on them.  Then he went to go take a nap.

Amanda took this information and ran to Helen and started crying to her that Judd was flipping the whole house and that he was so against her and trying to rally up votes.  Helen then ran into the HOH room and told Aaryn that they needed to have a meeting NOW because Judd was flipping and not to listen to ANYTHING he had to say.  Amanda ran to GinaMarie to ask her if Judd had tried to flip her yet and she told Amanda that he had done the opposite and told her NOT to flip...but Amanda still said he was flipping.  Somehow they all ended up down in the cockpit together talking about how Judd was supposedly rallying votes to get Amanda out. This is of course stupid and untrue.  Not only is Judd doing NOTHING of the sort, but even if he did it wouldn't matter because no one else in the house has enough brains to take a stab at getting Amanda out of the house.  McCrae and Andy both told Amanda to chill out more and to STOP talking game. Just to have fun and lay low and get zero votes.  Then they both went to take naps as did Spencer.

While all the boys were sleeping, Amanda made her way up to the HOH room (and the HOH bed of course) to talk to Helen, Aaryn, GinaMarie about this whole Judd flipping thing. They bashed Judd for HOURS and talked about how shady he is and how he is a genius who is just trying to play some "innocent farm boy".  They talked about how he is just playing for jury votes and that's why he wants Jessie in the house right now.

Amanda told Helen that he wants her gone because she would be a vote for one of them instead of him.  She told the whole room that he had made up tons of lies about fake alliances and things Kaitlin supposedly said just so he could get her out because she might vote for Andy in jury instead of him.   THEN it really happened.  Amanda decided that Judd was MVP.  At t his point in time, Judd and Spencer had awoken from their naps and were casually chatting on the outside couch about nothing in particular thinking that the rest of the house was asleep.

Amanda, with Helen now very much in on it too, continued talking about the MVP thing with Aaryn.  They decided that Judd had nominated Elissa to throw people off and then nominated GinaMarie because he wanted to nominate her to begin with and also because he knew she would stay and Kaitlin would go.  They decided that this week he had nominated Amanda because he knew that no one would think it was him if he nominated her, but that she wasn't the target at all.  He nominated her to frame Howard because HE was actually the one that wanted Howard out of the hose so badly...not Amanda.  For those of you that have been keeping up, you know that Amanda has not stopped talking abort wanting Howard out for at least 3 weeks now.  There is also the part of this that makes no sense because Amanda keeps saying Judd is rallying votes against her, but also saying he doesn't want her out this week, but he nominated her to get frame Howard and get Howard out.  Go figure...   In any case, Judd and Spencer remained happily oblivious downstairs, while in the HOH the girls chip chomped away at Judd's new fate.

Eventually people in the house started to wake up and Amanda and Helen pounced right away.  Amanda  grabbed Andy and pulled him into the cockpit to tell him all about how she had figured out that Judd was MVP, an evil genius, playing them all, playing for jury, and trying to get her out (while he was sleeping).  Andy bought it hook line and sinker of course, because this seems to be the Jonestown series of Big Brother.  Whatever Helen and Amanda say is just the way it is and you don't dare question it or think for yourselves, because if you do, you end up like Nick, Howard, Spencer, Candice and possibly Judd at this point.  In other words, you end up either evicted or on the outside looking in while you are on the eviction list.  You just shut up and drink your Koolaid like a good cult member.  While Amanda was telling Andy exactly what to think and how to act, Helen pulled Elissa into the backyard to do the same thing.  This particular conversation was even MORE mind blowing since not only was it about how terrible Judd is, but it was also about how they (including Elissa) really like Aaryn now and think that Candice basically made the whole thing up about the bed flipping since they have now seen how Aaryn "really is" and they really like her.  WHAT PLANET AM I ON RIGHT NOW?!  Again... Drinking the Koolaid.

All this paranoia swam in circles for a while as people switched places and Amanda talked more to GinaMarie and Jessie, and Helen told Andy everything she thought Amanda had not told him yet.  Amanda had some sort of brief illness from eating Ramen and talked to Judd to make sure he was still solid on keeping her.  He said he was, but that seemed to fuel her paranoia even more.  She said all the pain was keeping her from being able to walk, but somehow she made it up the the HOH bathroom to continue to talk shit about Judd while hunched over.  Meanwhile, McCrae slept...

eventually when everyone started to wake up it was impossible to have these one on one private conversations as much and so everyone started to mingle and things started to die down and just get boring.  Howard had a really good conversation with GinaMarie in the Hammock.  Spencer had a conversation with her as well, but that one really wasn't that good, and Spencer really has no understanding of how to come across about people he doesn't like in an acceptable fashion, so I won't recount his tale.  Howard told GinaMarie that with Helen and Amanda running the house with McCrae and Elissa at their sides, things were boring, and that if the rest of the people thought they were not going to get picked off in the process they were crazy.  He talked to her about how she knows she is just a vote right now while they decide when they want to send her home and if they want to let her make it to jury.  GinaMarie agreed with him and they talked a bit about Amanda and the fact that she had orchestrated the evictions of most of her allies in the house.  If I had to guess what GM was really thinking by that conversation, I would say that she actually wishes she could vote out Amanda, but knows she doesn't have the numbers or a way to do it.  I AM however wishing that since Judd kept her safe last week, she would tell him what all the girls have been saying about him so that he can decide what to do with it since he is now a target rather than an alliance member.

For a little while after this there was a really boring lull where people were either napping, or eating, or just sitting at the hot tub, but we all know when Amanda decides she has a new target, she is like a dog with a bone.  She worked on this Howard thing for 3 weeks before she got her way and now that he is walking out her eyes are set on her new target, so she returned to the HOH bed to talk MORE about Judd with McCrae.

The conversation really wound up when Andy came in and started feeding the paranoia.  McCrae tried to say once or twice that they didn't know for sure that Judd had flipped, but Amanda and Andy freaked out and told him to "COME ON!! All the signs are there! It's SO obvious!!".  Their proof now is that Judd had a conversation with Andy asking him if he considered what Spencer and Howard were saying about voting Amanda out.  His actual intention was to make sure Andy wasn't considering it, but somehow now that Amanda has run with it, that PROVES that he is out to get her. He was implying they should take the deal...sigh...

Meanwhile on the couches outside, still unaware of the goings on of the rest of the house, Judd hit the mid-week slop funk.

Amanda ended her conversation with McCrae, Andy, and Aaryn by saying "It's done! He lied about Kaitlin so it's DONE! It's over.".  So as of now, Judd is the target, and Aaryn is the replacement member of the "Goof Troop" alliance.

After that conversaton the game talk mostly died down and the rest of the night has been just silliness and bored playing around.  They are still awake, but winding down quickly.

I wish I could tell you that something else happened in the house, but it didn't. I wasn't kidding when I said they talked about this ALL DAY LONG. I'm sad about it. I like Judd and would like to see him go far in the game.  I am hoping that he either realizes what is going on and makes a new plan, or someone else realizes what is really going on and stops the paranoia and ridiculousness.  If Amanda's paranoia doesn't do her in this week (which I don't think it will. They are all drunk on the Koolaid and HOH chips), Judd might be toast next week.  As of now Howard is still going and I don't see that changing. There are still several more days for people to freak out though.  As always you guys can follow me on twitter @ashes2ashes13 for more live feed updates.  Until tomorrow night...

Paranoia, The Destroyer

Silly boy, you self-destroyer

Paranoia, the destroyer

Self-destroyer, wreck your health

Destroy your friends, destroy yourself

                 Kinks "Destroyer"

Yeah yeah, Scott's usually the one to post lyrics but this song has been running through my head all day after Spencer used the POV he won on Saturday and Aaryn put Candice up on the block in his place.

Actually ever since Amanda was put up by "America" the house has been non-stop paranoia.  Amanda is super worried she might go up.  And late last night as Ash mentioned she started to suspect Judd of being some kind of sneaky mastermind.  18 hours later she now seems convinced that Judd is MVP this week and may have even been MVP LAST week.   The running around she has done today from HG to HG may in the end come back to haunt her.

Through all of this they still seem to be targeting Howard to go home, however Spencer is making a bit of an effort to rally the minority of the house to vote out Amanda thus making a 'bold' move.

Its really a strange season.  Helen has been completely obsessed with the Jury and her obsession has worked its way into others thinking.  We don't even know when the just starts yet but franly they should be more concerned about their alliances and not who they want out before or after Jury.

Some have called today the most boring day of the season.  I don't think thats the case but it certainly hasn't been one to write a huge blog post about.  So with that I sign off ;)

Gamer, Winner, or Both?

Here at the BBG Newbie Desk, I endeavor always to come clean about how my biases affect my views. I prefer to live and work in uncluttered environments, for example, and I am more apt to open up to somebody who demonstrates similar mannerisms. I am inspired by those who naturally prioritize the people they care about before themselves. I tend to assume, perhaps naïvely, that each person is inherently good until she or he proves otherwise.

My earliest viewing of #BB15 was during a few evenings while Judd was Head of Household (HOH). The first time that I tuned into the live feeds during a morning, "The Helen Show" was on. It was Sunday, July 21 ... and for more than three hours starting at about 6:45a, Helen had the house to herself. Nobody else was awake. Apparently during a Power of Veto (POV) competition the day before, Helen caught a random "punishment" of an 8:00p curfew. She had to sequester herself from all other house guests; bathroom breaks were permitted but she couldn't talk with anybody. So Helen was well-rested and eager to start the next day.

It was Helen's activities that Sunday morning which I found to be both astonishing and endearing. Rather than adopting an attitude of "Big Brother punished me, so I'm gonna do whatever self-indulgent thing I want to right now, and I don't give a hoot about anybody else" -- and, be honest, who among us wouldn't consider doing exactly that -- Helen started cleaning up the messes everybody left around the place!

Exhibit one was the bathroom. Here's what Helen found (top photo) and then how she organized things (bottom):

The kitchen was exhibit two. Dirty dishes everywhere (top photo) and then dirty nothing anywhere (bottom):

Helen even bagged up the bathroom trash and windexed the kitchen mirrors:

Only after Helen had devoted two hours to cleaning did she take time for herself to make breakfast and go jogging:

I've also seen Helen cooking huge meals (spaghetti, something called "slop balls", etc.) for the entire house several times ... and only once did I see another house guest (Andy) actually thank her for it.

Even so, while catching up with some of what I missed during the first month of #BB15, I keep reading how people say Helen is too bossy and/or too much into delivering lectures even after her week as HOH was up.

But doesn't Helen's repeated selflessness earn the right to be fully engaged in conversations with other house guests, pushing whatever strategic agenda (whether of her design or someone else's) she wants? She takes care of her fellow house guests in ways they neither realize nor thank her for, so I don't see how her frequent cooking and cleaning could be interpreted as manipulative. We don't call Judd or Spencer or even Amanda "bossy" when they push their agendas.

Not, of course, that Helen has to "earn the right." It's a game, and she's playing it -- quite expertly, from my albeit not-yet-very-educated perspective. It's true that I might be biased for having not tuned into #BB15 until after Helen's HOH week. Perhaps you have more reasons to dislike her than to root for her. I can respect that, but I'm in a different place.

The true measure of a person is found in what she or he does when nobody is watching. (In this equation, Internet viewers don't count.) Whether Helen is enough of a gamer to last longer than everybody else in the #BB15 house remains to be seen. But in my book, Helen is already a winner.

Are you already on Team Helen? Or if not, why not? Comments welcome below or find me @uselesstraffic.

The Night Owl

Tonight was a night of confessions, house meetings, love fests, and fights.  After the feeds came back from trivia earlier tonight, we learned pretty quickly that Kaitlin and Aaryn had been nominated.  Neither of them are the target (that's Jeremy), but Helen and her alliance (the rest of the house minus Spencer and  Howard) wanted to put them up just in case Jeremy wins veto so that they can send Aaryn home in a worst case scenario situation.

After nominations, the confessions began.  I don't remember who was first, but at some point each member of the alliance formerly known as The Moving Company spilled their guts to the various members of the house.  Most had already told Helen before nominations (Howard being the only exception) but Spencer and Howard felt the need to hold a meeting in HOH minus BlondeTourage and Amanda and McCrae.  They confessed their actions in the MC and also left a lot of things out.  They blamed asome things on members not present (Nick and Jeremy) and it ended in a  "Kumbaya let's all hold hands and be good people" love fest.  Am I watching Big Brother? Because I feel like this is turning into something completely different. Spencer claimed that the reason he voted out Nick was because his family would not like him being in an alliance with people "who make offensive comments and slurs against women".  I assume he was talking about Jeremy, but the irony in that of course is that Spencer himself is currently on unpaid leave from his job due to the offensive comments he himself has said about women in the house.

Helen cried at least 15 times during the course of the day and night, but when Spencer and Howard gave their speeches, she and Andy decided to turn it on extra thick.  She cried and she lectured about people lying.  She talked about how they had to make sure the "good people" win the game and that the "evil people" don't.  I seriously can't with Helen.  I wanted to like her, but I just can't.  She has a terrible case of HOH-itis and victim syndrome rolled into one making her a gigantic pain in the ass.   Andy decided it would be better for his game to pretend that he is still mad at Spencer and splash water on his face to pretend he was crying. What that actually has to do with game play I have NO idea.  I think he was just really hoping they would call him to the DR to talk about it.  I personally hope they DO start calling him in more so I can have a break from his constant feed bombing all over the place.

Amanda and McCrae decided that when Elissa got her MVP notification (since everyone knew it would be her) they wanted her to put up Howard so the he could either win veto and they could BD Jeremy, or they could send Howard home if Jeremy got to play in veto and won.  Amanda is all about getting Howard out because she knows that he does not trust her and would like to see her leave.

After Elissa got her MVP confirmation, she told McCrae.  McCrae told her he would take the heat and tell everyone that he got MVP (WHAT?!).   Why he would want to put an extra target on his back bigger than Amanda already is, I have no idea..but whatever..it's what he did.

Amanda still feeling confident that she could control everything including the MVP nomination decided to start a fight with Candice about Howard going up on the block because Candice had pleaded with Elissa and Helen and McCrae to please keep Howard off the block and put up Spencer instead.  She has grown close with Howard and told Amanda that she would feel the same way about someone wanting to put McCrae up.  Amanda refused to see the reason in this and she and Candice ended on bad terms with Candice going downstairs angry.

Amanda THEN decided it would be a good idea to fight with Howard when he was pulled upstairs to talk with McCrae to talk about being put up as the MVP nomination.  Howard was okay with going up and kept trying to apologize and squash things with Amanda, but as usual she kept beating a dead horse and wouldn't let it go. She kept telling him she wanted an apology from him for "bullying" her (since when is wanting someone out considered bullying?!) and Howard kept telling her that he WAS sorry for wanting her out etc..  Eventually they just stopped fighting about the same ridiculous things that happened last week and Howard went downstairs.

Then, Elissa was called to the DR to make her MVP nomination.  When she returned upstairs Amanda and Helen were in the room and Elissa told Amanda that she didn't get MVP.  Amanda called her a liar and they started arguing about it.  Finally it came out that Elissa did have MVP but that she did not feel right nominating Howard and had nominated Spencer instead with the target still being Jeremy.  Her nomination could very well be due to production interference because Helen mentioned at least 3 times tonight that the DR did not want Howard nominated and then the feeds immediately cut to fish each time.  Once Amanda learned that Elissa had nominated Spencer and not Howard, she went off and started her third fight of the night.  She said she didn't understand "how Elissa could fuck them that way" and that it wasn't fair that when they protect her she would go against them and make a different nomination.  Elissa said she didn't understand why it would matter if it was Howard or Spencer on the block if Jeremy was the intended Target.  Ellissa then went on to yell at everyone in the room about how they use her and get information from her and get her to nominate people for them, but they don't ever clue her in on what THEY are doing or what THEIR alliance is thinking or who THEY are going to nominate.  The fight really didn't come to a solid conclusion, it just ended with Amanda storming downstairs with McCrae in tow so they could talk about how stupid Elissa is for going against them.  While I'm not surprised and saw this coming from a mile away from the time Amanda started trying to save Elissa to control her, I will grant Amanda the fact that Elissa knows NOTHING about how the game or nominations work.  She makes very stupid decisions about it (like putting Jeremy straight on the block knowing he will likely win veto) unless Helen is in her ear telling her exactly what to do. So really, both sides of the argument were kind of ridiculous.

Meanwhile, Spencer had a really long chat with Judd explaining to him how much he liked him and still wanted to be in an alliance with him.  he told him that everything he had told him in the last week as far as liking him and game play had been true with the exception of not outing the MC to him until today.  Judd asked him a lot of questions about the various members and Spencer told him (and told the HOH crowd earlier) about Nick's real job and going to Yale etc.. Judd was happy that he was right the first week about Nick, Spencer, Howard, and Jeremy being in an alliance.  He had been paranoid about it when he caught some of them talking late at night and was excited that his suspicions turned out to be true.

When Spencer was done talking to Judd, McCrae did damage control about the MVP nomination.  Since he had already told Howard that HE was MVP and that Howard was going up, he pulled Howard into the cockpit and spoke to him about not putting him up.  He got him to swear on the Bible about not coming after them etc..  and then ended it.  He then pulled Spencer in to talk to him about going up (since Elissa had actually already nominated him).   Spencer told him he did not mind being nominated and would take his punishment, but that he would like to not be on the outside of the alliance.  They both talked about how the reason the MC did not work was because of Jeremy being such an asshole and being cocky and paranoid.  They said they both liked Nick, but that they had to stop the alliance because they could no longer be associated with Jeremy.  After their talk, Spencer went to bed.

Meanwhile, up in the HOH room, Elissa, Helen, and Judd were having a talk about what happened with Amanda.  Elissa started crying and saying she wanted to self evict again, but none of us are actually that lucky, and I'm pretty sure production would handcuff her to the have not room if she even TRIED to leave.  Judd and Helen both told Elissa not to let Amanda push her around because MVP is hers and it's her decision as to who goes up no matter who it is.  Later when Elissa and Helen went to bed in HOH, they both discussed having to turn on people who had protected her implying Amanda and McCrae.

At some point when all these other things were happening, GinaMarie still dressed in Nick's hat and carrying around his coffee mug and chapstick, was told the truth about the MC alliance and who he really was via Helen.  Helen was nice to her about it and they had a good laugh.  GinaMarie decided that she does not necessarily believe Nick skates because he did not comment on her "skate shoes". *Head Desk*.  After her chat with Helen, GM was called to DR (I'm assuming to talk about what she just learned).  When she got out, Amanda decided to tell her "no one wants to hurt your feelings by telling you the truth, but Nick was saying he needed to get rid of you right away because you are so annoying".  GinaMarie let that soak in for a minute and then laughed it off.  She asked around a bit if it was true and people confirmed it.  She responded by saying she still has feelings for him and will continue to wear his hat and see what happens at the finale.  Again, I can't make this stuff  up. She is REALLY like this.  According to Judd, she now sleeps with the coffee mug that Nick drank out of.  I'm thinking the only thing GM might win out of this season is a straight jacket and a ride to the asylum.

Amanda had a long chat with Aaryn telling her that she was in a good position because everyone wants Jeremy out.  Aaryn told Amanda that Kaitlin said that if Jeremy goes this week she is just going to self evict after him because she doesn't want to be there anymore. Aaryn asked why she is the bigger threat than Kaitlin and Amanda told her that it was because she is stronger and could win HOH.  Aaryn countered that by saying "yeah, but I don't have any votes on my side and even if I won HOH all I could do is nominate whoever the house wanted out. People should just be using me as a tool".

After that chat, pretty much everyone went to bed except for McCrae and Amanda who laid downstairs a while longer alternating kissing and talking about how "stupid" everyone is who isn't going along with their plan.  They then went to bed too.

The HGs have been on lockdown all night, so Veto should be played sometime this morning, and that will seal the fate of either Jeremy, Aaryn, or Spencer.  As always you can follow me on twitter @ashes2ashes13 for more overnight updates. Until tomorrow night...

The Night Owl

I don't particularly know where to start tonight.  I really thought this would be a recap where I talked about being disappointed over Nick getting evicted (which I am) and poked a little fun at GinaMarie's reactions to it (and I will get there...trust me), but SO much more has happened tonight that my brain feels like mush.  I will try to explain it all, but there is a lot to tell.

So, the live eviction goes about as we expected it. Howard and Jeremy were the only members of the MC to vote to keep Nick, and Howard knew that he was going home anyway.  When Nick left we heard the sobs we all knew were coming from GinaMarie.

When the feeds returned, GinaMarie was sitting sobbing and blowing her nose into Nick's shorts (I'm not kidding) while wearing his hat and talking about how if she just had ONE more week with him then he would have wanted her and they would have been together.  She threw out a bunch of other stalkerish lines like "You guys don't know what we had together alone when it was just us" and one of my favorites "How do I know he won't find a girl at home? How do I know he is gonna wait for me?".  At first I thought to myself..."My gosh, I've never met someone so completely unaware of reality.", but then I remembered Aaryn, and boy did she prove her delusions tonight!

While GinaMarie was still crying in her bed and lamenting her sorrows to Aaryn and Kaitlin, Jessie had the audacity to tell her that she was very sorry this had to happen.  GinaMarie told Jessie it was her fault that Nick was gone and then the fighting started from there.  First there was a squabble between GinaMarie, Aaryn, Kaitlin, and Jessie about the bed situation.  Jeremy and Kaitlin had taken over the bed where Jessie and Judd had been sleeping.  Jeremy and Kaitlin didn't ask, they just did it and then proceded to imply that Jessie was a slut.  Well..it wasn't really just implied.  Aaryn flat out called her one. Judd came into the room to see what was going on between the girls and before he could even say anything Kaitlin Screamed "GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY ROOM, JUDD" (even though it's actually the room where HE sleeps and Kaitlin does not).   Judd grabbed Jessie and they went upstairs for Helen's HOH reveal.

At some point while everyone else was enjoying Helen's HOH reveal, downstairs Aaryn and Kaitlin (with GM still in the room sobbing into Nick's dirty shorts) flipped over Candice's bed and threw her clothes around the room.  I'm not sure why they did it. I missed that part, but when Candice came back downstairs she wasn't happy about it.  When she first came in the room Kaitlin said something smart to her and that was all it took. Candice said something about them flipping her bed and Aaryn was off and running with the racial slurs all over again.  Candice was mostly calm at first, but Aaryn kept snapping at her and making "the black girl voice" to mock her while telling her "she wants to see that black side come out".   Candice eventually started to lose it, and when GinaMarie chimed in with more nonsense, Candice snapped at GM and GM jumped up off the bed and got into Candice's face AGAIN with more racial slurs.  At this point I think Candice probably would have hit GinaMarie if Howard had not very LITERALLY picked Candice up and dragged her out of the room.

Once Candice and Howard were in the other room, Howard calmed her down a little telling her that he could not control his temper and needed her to stop so she didn't get kicked out of the game.  She went upstairs and confided in Helen and Elissa while Howard stayed downstairs and sobbed in the room alone.  I won't lie to you guys, I had a REALLY hard time watching that happen.  It's the first time watching the BB feeds has ever been emotionally painful for me.

Meanwhile, Amanda had heard that the girls were being mean to Jessie again, and indeed they were.  While Candice was upstairs, they were all railing on her for being a slut and being with Judd now as her "last and 5th choice when everyone else rejected her".  Amanda came in the room and started defending Jessie and saying "let's just ALL clear the air.  Aaryn was not having it so Amanda decided to rat everyone in the room out about each other and what they had all said behind each other's backs.  She told Kaitlin about Aaryn's problems with her and all the mean things she says about her and vice versa.  She told Jessie what they say about her.  Aaryn still balked and told Amanda she was being ridiculous and so Amanda then told Aaryn how she was trying to help her by helping her to stop talking shit behind her alliance's back and stop being portrayed as a racist.  Well of COURSE in Aaryn's mind this isn't actually happening because "she never said one single racist thing ever" so Amanda and Candice are making it all up.  This fight went on for a while and finally ended with Amanda storming off.

After that fight was over, there were a few smaller tiffs between the mean girls group while Helen and Elissa celebrated upstairs.  Howard and Spencer kind of scrambled around together trying to decide what to do now.  Very clear lines seem to have been drawn now that Nick is gone and the MC alliance is a bust.  Andy, Amanda, McCrae, and Judd are together.  Elissa, Helen, Candice, Jessie and Andy are together (Andy is in almost all the alliances lol), and BlondeTourage still consists of GinaMarie, Aaryn, Kaitlin, and Jeremy.  When Spencer came to Howard and McCrae and wanted to vote Nick out earlier today (not knowing McCrae was going to anyway) he thought that he would still be with MC, but they would have just ditched one member. That turned out not to be the case.  Howard and Spencer are now sort of floating along together without any real home.  Everyone agreed to not let on that the are no longer welcome in the alliance, but it's pretty obvious that they are on their own.

A bit later, Amanda tried again with Aaryn.  She tried gently approaching what was wrong with what Aaryn was saying and doing in the house, but Aaryn again managed to turn herself into a victiim.  She cried and claimed that she is afraid that people are going to believe she is racist "when she never said one racist thing and Candice just makes stuff up".   McCrae also jumped in on this one and told her she needed to humble herself and stop acting the way she was acting.  Amanda told her that it was her actions that got people like Nick and David who should still be there evicted, because if her alliance wasn't so awful due to her behavior, they might have actually been working together.   Aaryn of course didn't let any of it sink in, but many of you will be happy to know that she did spend a good amount of time crying in the bathroom about it.  I'm sure it was for selfish reasons, but I still take some pleasure in it.

Meanwhile, GinaMarie STILL dressed in Nick's clothes and hat and blowing her nose into his shorts was making sobbing whaling noises like a dying animal.  That's the only way I know to describe it.  I'm not sure I've ever seen anything like this. It's SO much worse than Jessie's funeral in season 11.  Several people have told her that it "isn't like Nick died. He just got evicted". But there is no consoling her.  She has even been wondering out loud if she could possibly get on the same flight as Nick if she self evicted now.  I so wish I were joking when I say that...but I'm not.

I thought things were gong to wind down a bit and I might be able to put my tired BB'd out ass to bed when McCrae decided it was time to drop the MC bomb on Amanda and Andy.  He told them that there WAS indeed a guys alliance and told them all about how it was formed and how he turned on the alliance.  He said he turned on it because 1. he wanted to be with Amanda, and 2. because Spencer, Howard, and Jeremy were so bad at it.  He told them that it sucks that Nick got evicted because he was the only one who was actually a really good player and would have been great to work with, but that the other three were horribly and obvious and that they pushed him around about it so he had to turn on them.  Amanda and Andy took it really well. Amanda said she still trusts him, and Andy couldn't stop talking about how he can't wait to talk about it in the DR.  I'm not terribly surprised that Andy is excited to talk about anything.

Right now they are all still awake but things seem to be winding down, and I am spent so I'm going to have to call it a night. GinaMarie is still crying, but the others are mostly just chit chatting about various game aspects and trying to figure out how the food comp and nominations will go today.  I haven't even heard anyone say who is being nominated yet because the feeds have just been fight fight fight fight, but if I had to guess I would say it would be Aaryn and kaitlin.  The MVP nomination will of course be up to Elissa I'm sure, and she will likely nominate Spencer as a pawn with the intention to backdoor Jeremy if he can't play in the veto comp, or at least get him up there if he doesn't win veto.

HOH is really irrelevant this week in that the whole side of the house against BlondeTourage has the votes and the same targets, so all that will really matter is who the MVP nominates and who wins the veto. If Jeremy doesn't win he is going home.  If he does win, Aaryn is going home.  And that's the way I expect the week to play out.  Is anyone else already exhausted even though it's only week 3?!  I'm so glad the feeds are at least interesting this year though.  I'm really disappointed in losing Nick as a player, and I blame a lot of it on the MVP twist (and a lot of it on his own game play as well), but I can't complain about all the explosions that happened due to his eviction.  This is the reason most of us watch the feeds.  After tonight's events I'm going to say fairly confidently that Nick really needs to invest in a restraining order, and Aaryn may have to go into witness protection or something when she gets out of the house.

Anyway, that's it.  I'm sorry if this has been a jumbled mess of a blog, but it has been a very VERY long last 24 hours, my eyes are BARELY open, and it is WAY past time for me to sleep. As always, you can follow me on twitter @ashes2ashes13 for more updates.  Until tomorrow night....
