(Note: In an effort to try something new this year, this post is the start of a new series of profiles. Throughout the season, I’m going to pick one person and try to follow them on the feeds all day. I have some doubt that I’ll be able to devote the necessary time to accomplish this, though. I’m starting off with the first nominees, as obviously this will be my only chance to get one of these peeps.)
Our first glimpse of Jessie was not the best. Throughout the entire CBS premiere, she proclaimed herself the prettiest girl in the house. I immediately pegged her as this year’s Danielle. Last year’s Danielle, not Evel Dick’s brat.
When the feeds came on, though, we saw a sad, sad girl sitting with a giant frown on her face. Apparently, she had set her sights on Jeremy, and they had a moment or two in the early days. That dirty girl Kaitlin came along, though, and Jessie was kicked to the curb.
Oh yeah, Jessie was also put on the block. Something tells me that being dumped hurt more than being on the block.
So this day begins inauspiciously for our poor little nominee. She wanders into the bathroom around the same time as the rest of the girls (and a couple of the boys), and performs the morning ritual of brushing her teeth and applying makeup. She says little, and doesn’t respond at all to the entrance of Elissa and her complaints about the messy nature of the bathroom. The only highlight of this portion of the day is when she shares a laugh with Aaryn by making fun of Rachel’s voice and laugh.
A bit later, she plops herself down in the living room with coffee and a muffin, joining a handful of other people. Unfortunately, two of them are Kaitlin and Jeremy, who are pretty much on top of each other on the opposite couch. Awwwkward. She is pretty much a mute during this time, even after Kaitlin wanders off.
After Jeremy ends up in the bedroom with Kaitlin, Jessie surprises nobody by ending up in that same room, doing her nails while sitting on the adjoining bed. Does she follow them everywhere? This time, it is Jeremy’s turn to leave, and Kaitlin pretends to sleep. A few minutes later, Jessie is back in the living room for more idle chatter.
Then something very strange happens. She disappears! For the next few hours, she doesn’t show up on any of the feeds. Even Elissa’s Bible reading gets some airtime during that period, but absolutely no sign of Jessie.
Mid-afternoon, she finally appears, playing chess with Spencer. David, who is looking on, asks her some questions about her cheerleading days, and Jessie leaps to her feet to show off her skills.
Not long after that, the MVP ceremony blocks the feeds, and when we return Jessie is silently sitting in the HOH as Elissa and Jeremy exchange barbs. Once Elissa departs, Jessie remains silent until she interrupts McRae’s CD time by asking about the amount of time there usually was between the ceremony and the veto competition in previous season.
Once again seemingly evaporated into the house vapor, it’s another hour before we see her again. After bitching about Elissa, Kaitlin storms out of the HOH and walks right by Jessie and Elissa. According to Kaitlin, Elissa was asking Jessie if she’d consider putting up Kaitlin in the future. Jessie denies this, saying that Elissa was actually asking her to form an alliance. “I’m not making a deal with the devil”, she claims.
They actually have a civil conversation for quite some time, which proves the theory that a rival bitch is the one thing that will bring together two catty girls who have been fighting over a man.
The best part of this conversation comes at the end, as Jessie looks at the camera and says, “if you vote for me for MVP next week I’ll flash my boobs.” Kaitlin agrees, and they both head up to the HOH to bitch some more about Elissa.
For the next half hour or so, she lies around in the HOH, until suddenly she complains to Nick about his bed-sharing with GinaMarie. Seriously, girl, is there any guy in that house that is safe from you? He plays it off, and they talk a bit about his diet. Nick doesn’t eat junk food, and he credits his parents.
Around this time, David and Aaryn had a fight over a conversation he had with Elissa after the MVP meeting. It’s off-topic for this post, but you should go check it out, as Aaryn is very clingy and scary. Jessie now heads downstairs to talk to David about that fight. After she gets that out of the way, she attempts to talk him into throwing the veto competition to give her a better shot at winning. Then she can be replaced by Elissa! “The only person who wants you out is the person who put you up!”
David is obviously not too comfortable with that plan, and they talk a bit about who the MVP really is. David thinks it is possible that Nick is the actual MVP, but they both agree that it’s possible that the vote was rigged to ensure Elissa’s survival. You think?
It was around this time that the feeds went to trivia, meaning it was veto competition time. When the feeds came back, McCrae had won but the only sad person was Elissa. As she cleaned up, she complained to Aaryn (and then GinaMarie) how hard it was to figure out what to do. Ten minutes later, she was still explaining. She loves scrabble, you know! “I had some extra vowels.”
A bit later, Aaryn and her decide to take a bubble bath, and head upstairs to ask permission. With that granted, they climb in shortly after starting the water, but one really can’t hear anything they’re saying. Jessie wonders if there’s ever been sex in the tub, but otherwise it’s just silly talk. Jeremy joins them, and a number of others stand around chatting about Elissa.
Once the bath ends, Jessie again disappears for quite some time, and we find out later that she was cleaning the kitchen. She spends a bit of time back in the HOH before finally calling it a night.
This has been a somewhat interesting way to watch the feeds. You really don’t notice how people suddenly aren’t present on any cams. Did you enjoy this little experiment? Should I carry on with others in the house?
It's been a busy 24 hours in the Big Brother house. When I first turned on the feeds early in the day on Thursday, everyone was all atwitter about the MVP nomination. Elissa had chosen David and his mane of blonde to sit in the third nomination chair. She revealed to McCrae that she actually was the MVP which otherwise would have remained secret from the HGs leaving her nomination anonymous. McCrae told Amanda and the news flew like wildfire from there. Lots of the HGS, the girls especially, started talking about and getting worked up about all the things Elissa has done in the house, including lying about who her sister was and having confrontations with many of the other girls. This eventually led to a confrontation between Elissa and Jeremy, and at some point left Elissa sort of fake crying and duckfacing reminiscent of another member of her family.
There was lots of talking among the girls and a few of the guys about getting Elissa out this week. Their plan was to hopefully have David throw the veto comp so that whoever won could pull off one of the original nominations and have McCrae put Elissa up so that they could vote her out. Most of them made it clear to McCrae what they wanted and really put the pressure on. At one point, Amanda even tried to convince Elissa that maybe she should just quit.
However, McCrae and Helen, as well as a few other members of his alliance had other ideas. He fully intended to put Elissa up if the situation arose to do so, but the plan among his alliance is to vote out David anyway unbeknownst to the girls and few guys who want her gone. Helen seems to be one of the main supporters of this idea along with Andy, Nick, and Judd.
The veto was played and McCrae was once again victorious. At this point I think he may be hurting his game a little to be winning so much so fast. I'm rooting for the kid, but he may find himself forced to win in order to stay in the house soon if the rest of the HGs start to see him as a huge threat. Immediately after the competition, Nick and McCrae went up to the HOH room to discuss what the best move would be since he was now in power of the veto. They eventually came to the agreement that it would be better to take down Candice and put Elissa up, but to make sure that David and all his crazy tresses were voted out anyway to the shock of all those that vote for Elissa to leave.
Nick and McCrae are two of my very favorites, but I have to say my hopes were shattered when it turned out to be THEM rather than production trying to keep the other Reilly in the house. I understand their reasoning though. Keeping Elissa in the house does leave someone in with a large target on her back. It also gets out David who is in a showmance alliance with Jeremy, Jessie, and Aaryn. Between David and Elissa, David is most likely the bigger threat to McCrae, Nick, Judd, Andy, Amanda, Spencer, Howard, and Helen (the group planning to keep Elissa) as Elissa has no real alliance. Nick continued to talk to David at different timed of the night discussing surfing and skateboarding and reassuring David that he of course is safe since Elissa is the target (and the Oscar goes to..).
David seems to be none the wiser and trust that he is going to be okay. He did have some awkward tiffs with Aaryn earlier in the day, but for the most part those were about him chatting with Elissa and he really doesn't seem to be all that concerned.
After all the veto game talk, everything calmed down and went back to normal. Jessie returned to obsessing about why Nick sleeps with GinaMarie now instead of her and wondering if he is gay since he is not giving her attention. Last night she was traumatized that Jeremy was more into Kaitlin, but since Kaitlina and Jeremy are spending more time together, she had now returned to her former choice of unreciprocated interest. She decided to take a bubble bath with Aaryn to discuss this with Amanda also present to explain the things too difficult for her to understand.
Speaking of Amanda, I have NO idea where this girls head is at. She seems to be into everyone's business at all times, and she talks to everyone about everyone else. Each time she talks to everyone she seems to be completely on that person's side. I really want to like this girl, but I think she is making herself into a HUGE target by doing so much talking. The one person I think she really IS loyal to right now is McCrae, but he is HOH, so there is no telling where she will go when the power shifts.
I am really starting to enjoy Andy tonight. As far as alliances, he seems to be in pretty tight with McCrae and possibly Nick, and his humor has really started to stand out. I think his intelligent quick wit is going to be great entertainment if he is able to stick around. Unfortunately, he is another that is on board with keeping the Reilly beast in the house, but I can live with those shortcomings for now I suppose, and again, I understand why as players they are doing it. Also, I'm not completely convinced that Andy is keeping Elissa. He tells a different story depending on who he is talking to, and he is very good at it, and very good at being casual about it. I think his vote could easily still be up in the air and no one is really the wiser about it.
I haven't seen much of Candice or Kaitlin tonight other than some laying around in the room that used to be "the lounge" among other names (I don't think they have named the rooms yet this year), with each other and Jeremy and Judd. They mostly just talked about areas where they feel fat and boring things of that nature. There was a little Elissa bashing here and there, but nothing out of the norm. At some point there was a giant game of chess, but this broke up pretty quickly.
Spencer and Howard seem to be very close, and had some conversatoins over the night about the positives and negatives of keeping Elissa around, but I am not sure what conclusion (if any) they actually came to. I am fairly certain they are still leaning on the side of keeping Elissa though.
After a while the game talk seemed to die off almost completely and everything just turned to nonsense conversations about everything from sports to what sounds a starfish can make. Gina Marie rubbed her crotch on a few people (not kidding). Amanda played "milk the cow" using her own boobs as udders. There was a long discussion about who farts when they pee, and other random silliness.
Right now the plan seems to be to nominate Elissa and then blindside David, but we all know this is subject to change. There are a lot of things (including production) to take into consideration, and days in the BB house always bring quite a few flip flops anyway. I'm personally hoping the "keep Elissa" plan goes south and she walks, but I am seriously doubting that will even be allowed to happen. We shall have to wait and see though. Until then, it's all up to what our long haired HOH decides to do when the POV ceremony is held.
Oh, this also happened and I have no really good explanation for it:
What do you all think of the season so far? Who are your favorites? I think we are off to a pretty good start. I cannot stress ENOUGH how much I am enjoying this cast of new kids vs the old rehashed HGs. Until tomorrow night...
As predicted, Elissa won MVP, and the feeds went to trivia a bit ago as they announced her nomination. I thought she'd go for Aaryn, since she hates pretty girls, but she went for her boyfriend instead.
Now there's all kinds of little cat and mouse games going on. McRae is playing a ton of angles, and apparently told Amanda that Elissa was the MVP. He then denied it to Elissa, and the circles keep spinning.
The idea for the Moving Van Boys is to have David win veto, and then Elissa will be put up in place of him. Yes, that is legal. Winning MVP doesn't make you safe from nomination.
Turn the feeds on now, as Elissa and Jeremy are going at it. It's golden. "You probably have an abusive history", she says to him. Bwahahahaha!
