Big Brother Season 15, Episode 6 Recap

A simple intro to what should be a simple (and annoying episode). MVP silliness. Veto comp hosted by a Big Brother alum. A “thrown” performance that wasn’t good enough for the deal maker. Filler. Nominations.

So let’s start with the reactions to Aaryn’s nominations of Elissa and Helen. Guess what, neither are happy! Elissa doesn’t understand how people say she is “making waves”, and complains that it was “vindictive” to nominate Helen because of her. Helen thinks Aaryn is threatened by her friendship with Elissa. For some strange reason, Helen believes they were put up together to create a fight between the two of them. Hmmm, not really.

Helen enters the have-not room with tears in her eyes, followed by Elissa. “How original, right”, says Elissa. They hug, and Elissa goes into the standard Reilly “she’s so mean to me” mantra. Just to make sure you understand the mood of the room, the sad background music comes up as Helen promises to help save Elissa.

Candice joins the pair, and Helen tells her she shouldn’t hang out with the “pariahs of the house”. Again, we get to hear Candice’s (correct) theory about the all-boys alliance. Elissa almost forgot her script, but finally says “please, Brenchel fans, vote for us for MVP”. No worries about that.

In the storage room, the Movers are talking about how all of the women are going crazy. “I can’t wait to send them all home”, says Jeremy. He says that the girls are going to go home “one by one by one”. Yeah, right.

Helen is now upstairs playing chess with Howard, and after Kaitlin walks out of the HOH, she asks if he would mind if she talked to Aaryn. Helen still wants to work with Aaryn, who says it was hard to put her up. The music builds up as they continue to talk about secretly being an alliance, and Helen even says that putting her up was a smart move.

Ugh, here we go with the MVP bullshit...and yes, it was indeed Elissa. Yeah, act surprised, you dumb twit. “Like, how?” Really? In case you forgot how MVP works, she reads the exact same card from last week. “America, thank you so much...I’m doing this for you.” Ugh.

Elissa heads into the Have-not room to tell Helen, who does the weirdest little dance I’ve ever seen. They decide not to tell anybody, and Elissa says that Jeremy is her ultimate target. Helen is thinking ahead, though, and wants to know who would be the replacements? “Kaitlin.” But if...oh god, Helen, you’re thinking way beyond Elissa’s line of thinking. So now the question is whether they immediately put up Jeremy, or wait to do a backdoor. Ultimately, they go with Jeremy after all.

Filler time, as GinaMarie flirts with Nick. Poor Nick, even though he plays it well in the diary room. He’s not interested in Jessie. He’s not interested in GinaMarie. That doesn’t stop CBS from pushing it, though.

We’re spared from more of this ugliness, as it is time to pick POV players. First off, there’s the MVP nomination, and after a long buildup it is indeed Jeremy. Aaryn pulls out Amanda and Nick’s names. Nick is happy to be a part of it, and hopes to be able to save his “homeboy” Jeremy. GinaMarie will host, and she couldn’t be happier.

Elissa admits she’s a bit concerned over her choice as Jeremy, as he’s pretty fired up. To make sure we know just how focused he is, he puts on a show in the diary room on how he is such a “manimal”.

Arryn, meanwhile, heads upstairs. The girls all make fun of Elissa’s choice, as Jeremy is going to kick her ass. “This is the worst move she could possibly make”, says Kaitlin.

GinaMarie is asking Nick if it is smart for him to try to win this comp, and he thinks it is. They’re interrupted by Elissa, who is worried because “Nick is a fierce competitor”. She proposes a two week deal with Nick, and if he doesn’t throw it she will put him up as a replacement. He says that this is a win/win for him, as if he loses he won’t go up but a win also ensures he won’t go up. They shake on the deal.

Ugh, even more Elissa time. Her and Helen are crying about missing their kids, and Howard comes in to cheer them up. He leads them in a prayer. Please find me my bucket to puke in. This leads to a medley of Howard praying. Great for him, but a bore for viewers. Move on!

It’s now veto competition time, and GinaMarie is dressed as a baby. Yes, I typed that correctly. GinaMarie is dressed as a baby. Fitting, right. She introduces a video message from Britney. She shows her pregnant belly, and she tells them to head outside for the cmopetition.

The backyard is dressed up as a baby nursery, and they have to create a “giant baby mobile”. The first one to perfectly balance ten stuffed animals wins the veto.

After a bunch of cutesy diary room comments, the contest begins. This isn’t exactly exciting. Nick again explains his idea is to actually try to win, and...that’s enough. Why we need everybody involved to tell us how this works is beyond me.

For a second it looked like Amanda was going to win, but one of the animals was touching the ground. She makes an adjustment, and it still didn’t work. “Much like a baby, I need a bottle...of vodka”. She’s really getting a good edit.

Jeremy then tells us how he figured out how to win this comp, and he starts moving faster. Helen, though, is close to him, but Jeremy suddenly sprints to the win! Ugh, he is really the worst winner ever. Helen knows that somehow they need to come up with a bigger threat than the two of them. Well, a bigger threat than Elissa. Nobody thinks Helen is a threat.

After commercials, we get some filler of Jeremy and Kaitlin making out. They quit kissing, though, as Kaitlin is worried that she may be going the same route as David did last week. Yeah, the porn music comes up as they keep kissing. Oh wait, she’s upset again. Oh wait, they’re kissing again. Ok, enough.

Once the making out is over, Jeremy heads down to chat with the Movers to make sure that Elissa is the one that goes home this week. He tells Jeremy that if somehow Elissa doesn’t go, that means that a Mover made a wrong vote. Nick is not happy with this. “We’re a business.”

Jeremy moves on to the other Movers with the same story, and none of them are happy about this. “God is the only boss I listen to”, complains Howard. “Who died and made you boss”, asks McCrae. They’re all becoming a bit suspicious of Jeremy.

We move on to Elissa, who is talking to Candice. Like before, Candice wants to get rid of the guys, and complains that girls never make big moves in the house. There’s no way that a girl can be put on the block to replace Jeremy. Candice wants Nick put up, and that he’s working with Jeremy.

Elissa is conflicted, though. She promised to not put him up, and doesn’t want to go against her word. Candice moves on with the reasons why Nick has to go, and Elissa is shown nodding her head in approval.

Before we get to the veto ceremony, Elissa is seen going up to Nick and asking if he’d vote to evict Kaitlin. He gives an unintelligible answer, and says he’s not in “gameface right now”. She says that if he can’t answer, she may have to break their deal. He wants some time to think about it. Yep, she has her way out of their deal. In her mind, at least. (Especially since they didn’t show the conversation where Nick did try to work with her.)

It’s NOW finally veto meeting, and they still have Jeremy stare at the wall of keys. Why? We know he’s saving himself. Oh yeah, we have to have the commentary from those on the block, or possibly going on the block.

Everybody is called in, and Jeremy indeed saves himself. Elissa gets up, and after many, many seconds of buildup, has nominated Nick. GinaMarie is about to die! The Movers aren’t happy either!

So that’s it, after blah blah blah I want to win blah blah blah the game’s not over blah blah blah Momsquad. Wait, Momsquad??? Ugh.

Your thoughts on this episode? Did Elissa break her word? Were you happy to see Britney back? How bad does Elissa read her script? Tell us your thoughts!

A Day In The Life Of: Nick

A little backstory before we begin following Nick’s day in the house. Just a couple of days ago, he was sitting pretty. Elissa had used her MVP on Jeremy, and he had a deal with her that would keep him off the block if she needed a new nominee.

Nick didn’t win the veto, but Helen and Candice got into Elissa’s ear to say he didn’t actually “throw” the competition. In their eyes, the deal was voided, and Nick found himself replacing Jeremy as the MVP nominee. What has he done since? Not much. He did attempt to have a conversation with Elissa, only to find her walk out in mid-sentence.

Today’s action in the house starts really late, and even later for Nick. Instead of getting up early to start working on the votes, he slept in. We get our first glimpse of him and GinaMarie around 11:15 AM, as Aaryn comes in to wake them. Aaryn sticks around for a minute or two, and then races back upstair to tell Kaitlin that she thinks the pair are now an item. Um, no. They’re not.

Nothing is seen of them for the next hour or so, as the rest of the house prepares for the day. Finally, at 12:38, we discover why. They’re still in bed! Aaryn again walks in on them. “What are you kids doing in here?” She proceeds to tell Nick about her morning breakfast and exercise routine. “Look at my abs.”

Aaryn is still convinced that something is going on with the them. “Did you guys make out last night?” GinaMarie grins in the mirror, but says no. Nick jokes that GinaMarie is now pregnant with the first Big Brother baby. As GinaMarie works to tame her morning bedhead, Aaryn lies to her that she “looks so much cuter with no makeup and your retainer”. Always the gentleman, Nick says that when you’re in love with a girl she always looks beautiful. GInaMarie grins, but everybody (and I mean everybody) knows he’s not referring to her. Aaryn finally leaves, and Nick rolls over back to sleep.

The pair finally get out of bed, but only get as far as the bathroom before they plop their asses back down. Unfortunately for them, Andy comes in and starts talking about his favorite MTV reality shows. Oh Nick, if you only knew that Andy has spent the morning attempting to convince people to give you the boot.

After a little bit out of camera view, Nick is seen cooking breakfast. Or is it lunch at this point in the day? Andy is still following him around with more inane conversation. Elissa joins them, and the conversation slows to a crawl. Not because everybody becomes quiet, but because it takes her five minute to enunciate a syllable. Helen walks in to add even more dull chatter.

Meanwhile, GinaMarie is providing Amanda with too much information, but Nick comes in to save the day. After GinaMarie leaves the room, Nick takes Amanda into the lounge to a chat. It’s one of the first times they’ve talked, and Amanda jokes “you’re now forced to talk game”. Amanda tells him everything Elissa had claimed, including a story that Nick was planning on putting her up. She says that her and McCrae are the swing votes, and Nick wants to know how the vote could be that close. Amanda says it’s because people think he’s shady, especially since he’s constantly called to the diary room. Nick says that they ask him a lot of questions to help narrate events, and that he “didn’t want to be involved in a game of he said/she said”.

Amanda is also concerned that when Elissa leaves, he’ll be the MVP. Nick isn’t so sure. They end the chat with Nick apparently convincing Amanda that he would never put up her and McCrae.

Speaking of McCrae, he then walks into the room. Amanda leaves, and McCrae asks what they talked about. Nick imitates Amana, and retells the entire conversation to McCrae. They seem to be on the same page, and there’s a bit of talk about future picks. Helen, Candice, and Jessie’s names come up. Aaryn pops in to take a couple of HOH pics. McCrae finally leaves shortly after Aaryn, and Nick stares off into space for a bit.

He eventually reconvenes with GinaMarie, and thanks her for setting up that conversation wiht Amanda. As always, the talk quickly turns to GinaMarie. The girl can’t go a few minutes without talking about herself.

They then join the gang in the kitchen as Aaryn is still taking photos for the HOH blog. He sticks around as the camera crew moves upstairs, and then heads outside. There’s a bit of small talk with Kaitlin and Amanda, and eventually a few more people join them. The next couple of hours are spent chatting about news events and personal stories. As a news junkie, I’m embarrassed at how little they know about current events. I’m even more embarrassed by some of the personal stories. Finally, Nick gets up and says he’s off to take a nap.

Two hours later, Nick is up, and I’m not sure by choice. Andy is all excited because he thinks he’s done being a have-not at midnight, and GInaMarie’s meds must have kicked in as she’s jumping and dancing around the bedroom. The pair move into the storage room, where GinaMarie must have informed Nick of a talk she had with Andy a bit ago where Andy supposedly pledged to save him. They embrace, and GinaMarie continues her weird little dance moves. She kisses him on the shoulder, and wanders off. Wait, did she just say “love ya” as she took off? Oh boy.

Aaryn and GinaMarie now believe there is a food competition coming up, and they want Nick to join them in throwing it to Amanda and McCrae (I think). There really is no reason to believe this to be the case, or to throw it if true. Oh well. It just guarantees Aaryn will be a have- not next week.

He then has a conversation with Aaryn about Adderall, and how it changed her life. Too bad it didn’t also change her personal views. Strangely, Nick goes into an Andy-ish story about researching the history of drugs, and how his little half-brother is on it. Or something like that, as the feeds went to fish as that part of the story was introduced. Her life changed instantly when she started taking it, and she caught a boyfriend cheating a week afterwards. It also helped her with her panic attacks. She says that if they didn’t let her have them in the house, she’d “freak, freak, freak out here”. They move on to more personal life chatter before Nick heads outside to work out.

Workout complete, he sits next to the hot tub with the Blondetourage. The pills must be wearing off, as GinaMarie is pretty subdued, and the conversation amounts to even less than usual. After a few minutes, they wander over to the hammock where most of the guys are hanging out. The feeds, though, switch to Kaitlin and Jesse playing pool.

When the feeds come back, Aaryn is selling some idiotic story that causes the feeds to go to fish. Oh, GinaMarie is subdued because she feels lightheaded. Aaryn says it’s because she doesn’t eat. GinaMarie claims it’s because of the heat of the hot tub.

Little happens until Nick ends up with Judd in the storage room. Judd is worried that people are going to think he’s screwing them over by keeping Nick, but he is reminded that he promised to keep him. Judd says if he gets HOH next week, he’ll be putting “them” (namely Candice) up. He’s also worried that he’s on everybody’s mind as a possible nominee next week. Nick reassures him that they’re “good”, and that he wants to work with him. “If I win HOH, I will not put you up.” They shake on it, and, of course, Andy interrupts them. They have a scintillating discussion on lactose...and he pretends that they’re best buddies. “I feel pretty good about it”, he says about the prospects of keeping Nick. That earlier talk with GinaMarie definitely helped...or so Andy claims.

When he comes out, GinaMarie is waiting for him. She checks out the other rooms, but Nick says it’s “sketchy” in there. She’s all worried, but Nick tells her to relax.

Not shown for the feeds again for another hour or so, we now see him in the shower as Helen is talking about food with him. Namely Asian candy. Good thing Aaryn’s not around. The cam (obviously) doesn’t last long on this conversation, but when it comes back Kaitlin and Andy have joined them, followed by Howard. As always, Andy dominates the talk, but GinaMarie does point out her favorite parts of Nick’s body. No, not the ones you expect, although I’m sure that’s what she was thinking.

Nick complains that he’s tired, and they head into the bedroom. He thanks GinaMarie for setting up that conversation with Amanda earlier today, and also for doing his laundry. Ooops, big mistake. This causes GinaMarie to perk up, telling him how she loves to do that kind of stuff around the house. “I’m wife material, motherfucker.”

They also talk about Elissa for a bit. Nick says he’s going to be “super respectful” towards her, but she is the one who put him in this spot. GinaMarie adds that she’s going to also be supercool around her, because if she gets emotional than Elissa has won. I’m not sure what that really means, but GinaMarie then goes off to get Nick his hat.

She returns with not only his hat, but a glass of water. There’s more talk about being tired, and they formulate a plan for tomorrow. They’re going to talk to everybody, but for some reason they have to do it in a precise order. Finally, he’s left alone in peace...until Andy comes in. “Are you sleeping?” Judd is with him, and after Andy leaves they rehash their earlier chat.

Not long afterwards, it is midnight and the have-nots can eat. There’s alcohol and pizza, but we don’t hear much from Nick as Helen is over the top in her orgasmic glee over getting to eat. They do chat a bit about children, as Nick apparently once played daddy for a few months.

He heads outside to sit on the big couch, as Jeremy and Spencer are talking about coke, mushrooms, and steroids. Yes, Jeremy has done roids. Big shocker. GinaMarie gets a third wind, and she’s an unstoppable motormouth.

What was supposed to be an early night ends up going on and on. Most of it is nonsense talk, especially if it involves GinaMarie, but there are some interesting moments. Nick plays a little pool with Howard, who says that while everything is still on play, Amanda remains a bit of a problem. Nick’s worry with their original alliances is if two of them end up on the block at the same time, but Howard doesn’t think that will be an issue as long as they continue to work their sides.

There’s a bit of drama, though, as the house guests have been recording their goodbye messages, and GinaMarie just recorded hers. Of course, the very thought of Nick leaving has her gushing out gallons of tears. Nick is saved by Judd, though, and is able to escape...for a bit. He speaks for a bit more with Howard, and also with Judd, but then must deal with the beast.

GinaMarie is pissed. With the Have-not now “haves”, sleeping arrangements are altered, and Elissa is now in their room. “I’m not going to be able to sleep knowing that shady cunt is right next to me.” Oh boy. They do a little more gossiping. Well, GinaMarie does, and she says if she wins HOH she wants to put up Candice and Jessie next week. That’s not exactly a surprise.

She’s also a big worried about whether he’s playing her, and surprises Nick with a question about whether he’s a “homo”. Nick’s not happy with this. Ultimately, though, she likes him more and more every day.

He eventually escapes, and heads inside to make omelets. After a little more game talk with Judd, he finally crashes.

Do you think Nick will survive this week? Should he survive? How long will he have to endure GinaMarie’s twelve personalities? Let us know what you think!

The Night Owl

Well, surprise! The house flipped again tonight!

Early in the evening Amanda decided to have a chat with Aaryn about some of her racist comments and the way she is coming off.  Aaryn in true Aaryn form and all her KKK glory managed to make herself a victim in the situation.  She pretty much blamed it on Candice twisting people's words and that was the end of that.  Well almost the end...she went and told Howard how she isn't a racist but Candice was twisting her words as well.  All conversations were awkward to say the least.

As far as game goes, Amanda finally said she is on board with McCrae to vote out Elissa and Keep Nick.  He convinced her that Spencer and Howard were acting too shady for them to chance voting Nick out and being the only votes cast against him (which wouldn't be the case, but he needed her to buy it).  After she got on board, the next task was to try and get Andy to sway.  Andy is still totally against it and has told everyone at LEAST 20 times how much they NEED Elissa to stay in the house.  He has become a broken record at this point and I'm not sure how much more I can take.

If you don't have the feeds, you need to understand that just like the creepy chucky doll he resembles, Andy is EVERYWHERE.  No matter which feed you switch to or who you want to see talk, at SOME point during that conversation Andy is going to pop up and feed bomb you wanting to know if he "told you about the time his friend in college blah blah blah..?".  He is making game talk for everyone in the house EXTREMELY difficult.

For a while no one was really going to tell Judd what the deal was because Amanda figured they could cast the blame in his direction if he was one of the only ones who voted against Nick.  However, after Jeremy came and threatened and kind of scared him by telling him a bunch of lies about things people supposedly said about him, he went and confided in Amanda and McCrae, and they told him they were thinking they should all keep Nick and vote together.  Judd agreed that he would vote their way.

THEN...they got alcohol and the have nots got to drink.

The next thing you know Andy has told Helen that Elissa might be going. Helen got all riled up and went and got Amanda.  Helen got Amanda all riled up and Suddenly we are back to square one. Nick is related to Dan. Nick can't stay. We need Elissa. There is something weird about Nick. We should keep Elissa. BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH.  *HEAD DESK*!!!

A little while later Amanda, McCrae, and Andy talked.  They flipped back to having to vote out Elissa, but Amanda isn't stable on the idea and neither is Andy.  The two of them are still determined that something is weird and doesn't make sense.  Who knows where this will end up?  Even after tomorrow night there is still all day Thursday before the live show to scramble.  As of now they are still scrambling like crazy talking in their separate corners. I've seriously never seen a cast play this hard this fast.  These people are wearing me out.  As always you can follow me on twitter @ashes2ashes13 for more overnight updates.  Until tomorrow night...

The Night Owl

Well I might as well start off the blog by saying there was alcohol and this happened:

Amanda walked around in underwear with bandaids on her nipples for a good portion of the night and got Big Brother to spout off some new lines including "ZIIIIING".

Outside of the alcohol the last 24 hours has mostly been a mass of flipping and flopping.  Helen, Amanda, and Andy are still on a mission to save Elissa at all costs and will stop at nothing.  They have been running their mouths (Andy in particular) all day and night to anyone who would listen about how important it is to keep Elissa. Helen now believes that Nick is related to past HGs Dan or Will and decided to tell everyone that she has figured it out from her DR clues.  She seems to think this will make them vote him out as opposed to Elissa.

Elissa is still planning to put Nick up at the veto ceremony (most likely in the morning) and feels she has the votes to get him out.  She flip flopped a little between he and Kaitlin, but ultimately landed on Nick as predicted.

There have been several meetings with various members of the MC alliance to chat about votes and make sure they can still get Elissa out.  Everyone says they are on board.  The one major problem is that McCrae is telling them he has Amanda under his thumb and that she is going to vote with them.  This is not really true.  Amanda is absolutely set on getting rid of Nick and keeping Elissa to the point of fighting with anyone who suggest otherwise and dismissing the idea of switching no matter what McCrae tells her.  Howard and Spencer had several meetings where they discussed Amanda's vote not mattering since they have themselves, McCrae, GinaMarie, Jeremy, Kaitlin, and probably Jessie to vote in favor of keeping Nick.

Via the BB grapevine Nick was told that he would likely be the one going up.  He said he was not terribly concerned since the votes SHOULD come out in his favor, but he did decide to go and have a chat with Elissa to see if she was going to honor her deal with him to not put him up since he threw the veto for her.  She made a bunch of excuses about how he didn't vote for her week one (which she said wouldn't matter if he threw the veto) and then mid conversation she walked out of the have not room leaving Nick mid sentence asking "are you even going to answer my question?".   Can we PLEASE get this Reilly beast out of the house?!  PLEASE?!

After Nick's conversation with Elissa..or lack of one, GinaMarie came in and of course had a melt down and needed to be comforted by the person about to go up on the block...sigh..  Jeremy also came in with Aaryn and they were all just beginning to talk strategy when conversation cock blocker Andy decided to show up and make sure no one could talk any game without him.

The late night talks have continued between the various groups and are still going on. Lots of flip flops and scrambling already and the veto ceremony hasn't even happened yet.

If all goes as planned then hopefully Elissa will be walking on Thursday, but the pessimist and realist in me knows that many times these things go horribly wrong between wonky votes and people jumping sides, not to mention what production wants, so we will just have to see how it all pans out.  Until tomorrow night...
