Preseason Press Day House Tour and Interviews on Super Pass

As of about 3am this morning the Press Day tour videos of the "new" Big Brother 14 house were posted (Scroll down for one video).  I won't lie, it was much tougher for me to get through this year than it usually is.  Most of it was more about Rachel than it was about the house, and, of course she brought "BRENNON" with her.  I don't suppose she could leave her wart at home just to do press day.  The video of the "mini game" and tour is mostly just scripted DRs of Rachel saying things like "Nobody messes with MY man" etc..  To my knowledge this is the first time former house guests have been allowed in on press day to play the game with the other people.  Rachel does get evicted, so there is THAT.  Not soon enough though in my humble opinion.

The interview with Grodner in the producers video is foretelling of this season I think.  No one has said that Rachel is definitely going to be there, but I think we can all safely say there are most likely going to be former rehashed house guests, and Grodner was definitely pushing the Rachel idea saying that last season was one of her favorites "because Rachel got to go from being hated to loved". I feel like we might be doomed, but then again I have been very wrong before, so maybe I will be pleasantly surprised.  I can only hope.

The house on the other hand is kind of cute this year.  Some photos of it were leaked earlier in the week and can be seen a few blogs back. There is also a video of Reality Nation's Spicy Pants giving a tour of parts of the house.  I have seen the theme called "Tokyo pop" and also just "Space".  Either way I kind of like it. It's not completely redone or revamped or anything spectacular. They did get a new fridge..but that's about it. The rest of it is just painted over as usual. It's cuter this year though.

Despite my feelings of horror that we might be gearing up for another season of Rachel and God forbid Brendon, I am actually starting to get excited to see the new cast! I kind of like this mentors theme rumor because I think it might mean that the rehashed former House Guests don't necessarily LIVE in the BB house and get to play.  Maybe the actual House Guests will all be all new faces and OH wouldn't that be as refreshing as a cool misty breeze in my face during this 100 degree weather we are having down here.

If you would like to watch the videos and experience the horror (or joy if you are a fan..I know there are some Rachel rooters out there) yourself you can check them out here: http://superpass.real.com/big-brother-14/preseason/house-tour .  If you don't have your live feeds  you better get on it before the Early Bird Special is off and the price goes up!!

Are you guys excited?!

Veto Meeting Spoiler

Ok, there is really no surprises here. Adam obviously used the veto on himself, and Daniele replaced him with...Brendon. Of course, Brendon and Rachel have been whiney brats ever since, but in some respects it is disingenous. Just last night, during their meeting with Daniele, they set themselves up to be on the block by saying even if she did that they want to continue working with her.

The obvious question is who is going home on Thursday? This isn't as easy to answer as you may think. Yes, Shelly has complete love and faith in Jeff and Jordan, but she's not getting 100% back in return. Jeff loves having other people deflecting attention, and he's pointed out numerous times to Jordan that he's better off with a timebomb like Brendon in the house. Jordan sort of disagrees, but in a similar manner to Rachel she knows her place in the relationship. I predict, though, that ultimately they'll vote to save Shelly.

Adam and Porsche are also somewhat mental clean slates. There's been many instances of Adam expressing his undying devotion to working with Shelly, but he's had similar moments with almost everybody in the house. He's also having a bit of a Jeff moment, somehow believing that with Brendon gone he's right behind Jeff as the strongest player in the house. Yeah, right. As for Porsche, Daniele said it best in that she'll probably vote for the person who is nicest to her a few minutes before the eviction show.

My prediction is that Brendon does go home one more time, unless Daniele gives the word to Kalia and Porsche to save him. It is also almost inevitable that Rachel and Brendon will have some sort of meltdown that will cause those on the fence to finally just boot him.

Little else has gone on today except for whining. Brendon is still pissed about Porsche and Kalia having bigger beds, but somehow they supposedly found time to "soil" Porsche's sheets (ewww!). Shelly and Jeff are pissed because Brendon's elaborate meals waste too much of the house supplies. That sounds like a job for Kalia to investigate!

Will Two People Leave Tonight?

If you don’t have the feeds (and why wouldn’t you?), you’ve missed quite a bit of good times the past 36 hours. Basically, Rachel has had a nervous breakdown (or at least acted like she’s having one), and has been threatening to walk out with Brendon tonight. Will she do it? We all know the answer to that one.

The story begins yesterday morning, when Brendon and Rachel began campaigning with Shelly. This was a typical Brendon lecture about how they’re the only people in the house with integrity, and it’s just wrong that poor angelic Brendon is going to go home. After telling Shelly that she’s the only person in the house they trust, Shelly fed into their ego by appearing to agree with everything he said.

Jump ahead a few hours (3:51 pm for those with flashback), and the real fireworks begin. Daniele included a “shout out” to Shelly’s husband and child, and calmly let her know about it. No big deal, right? In Rachel’s mind, this was an attempt to play with Shelly’s emotions and she went on the offensive. She stormed up to the HOH to confront Daniele, saying that this was against the rules. After telling Rachel to get out of her HOH, the two girls headed outside so the entire house could view their battle.

The rest of the night consisted of Rachel sobbing, and the rest of the house uncomfortably enduring her blabbering. Poor Rachel (sarcasm intended). Nobody understands how tough it is to be her, and it all dates back to how Britney treated her last year. Shelly, Jordan, and Jeff all took turns cheering her up, to no avail. Eventually, the show’s psychiatrist was called in to spend some diary room time with Rachel. In the meantime, Shelly informed the house about Brendon’s Skype incident last fall.

Today started off just as last night ended, with Rachel’s over-dramatic sad eyes sucking all of the energy out of the kitchen. Shelly finally had enough, and her enthusiastic rebuttal put a positive spin on what the entire house was thinking. Jordan also attempted to put a stop to her moping, but it just caused her to once again stomp into another room and tell Brendon that she wants to walk out with him tonight. Apparently, her portrayal on the show last year has cost her friends, family, jobs, and everything else, especially Britney’s comment last year about her ass hanging out of her dress. (Later, Shelly admitted that it was!)

Unfortunately for those of us hoping for such fireworks, it appears that she’s staying. After an awkward HOH lockdown that featured her crying false tears the entire hour, Brendon has used his Hallmark catchphrase “charm” to fire her up. Sorry, but we’re stuck with Screetchy.

CBS Twist Revealed. One Evictee WILL Return With New Twist.

On Wednesday a couple people, including our own Scott, saw a that the America's Vote page on CBS had changed to reveal the upcoming plans for getting an evictee back into the house.

In the screencap shown below, you can see a description as follows:

America's Vote

Which houseguest do you want to come back in the game?  Vote for one of the four evicted HouseGuests below!  The winner will battle the next evicted HouseGuest for a chance to get back into the game!  Tun in to Big Brother on Thursday, August 11th at 9/8c to find out how America Voted!

Notice CBS has already assumed Brendon is going home?  We know he will be based on the house - but funny to see they know he will be as well.

So does the quote make sense to you?  Have you seen the last season of Survivor?  It was called 'redemption island' because the evicted people would face off against each other and the winner got to come back into the game.

Let me give you one example as to how it will work.  Lets say that Adam gets voted out next Thursday.  Lets also say that America votes for Cassi (of the four pictured) to have a chance.  Cassi and Adam will face off in some type of competition and the winner will be put back into the Big Brother house.

What do you think? Interesting? Dumb? How long will the person that returns last?  Would it be funny if Brendon is voted on by America and Rachel is evicted next week and the two have to face off to go back into the house?

POV Spoiler

It's not much of one, really. After teasing the house for the past two days that he was indeed going to save himself, Brendon ultimately used it on Rachel. Jordan is now up. ZZZZZ

Look for Wednesday's show (and the opening segments of Thursday) to be an over-the-top tribute to Brenchel. The post-nomination waterworks, the pleading and plotting with Daniele, playing in the rain, their trash bag wedding, and now Brendon's ultimate "sacrifice". Kill me now.

Guess Who Won The POV

Happy Saturday afternoon everybody! After two-and-a-half hours of trivia time on the live feeds, the Big Brother gods finally turned the switch back on and allowed us to find out who won the Power of Veto competition.

But first, let's go back to nominations. Daniele nominated Brendon and Rachel for eviction yesterday with the primary target being for Brendon to go. I can't wait to see the nomination on tomorrow night's show because Daniele called them the king and queen in it. Teehee!

The players competing in the POV competition today were Daniele, Brendon, Rachel, Jeff, Adam, and Porsche. Brendon's been telling Rachel that if he won he'd use the POV on her so that she would stay in the game. Well of course he would do that being such a fine gentleman and all right? Right.

So when the feeds finally came back today, it was (dun dun dun duuunnn!) Brendon that won!

It sounds like the competition involved (perhaps) having to guess how long it might take them to go through an obstacle course. There's been mention so far of having to do a puzzle and cross a balance beam.

Jeff was upset at himself for losing by two seconds. Shelly was in the HOH room telling Daniele (and the always up Daniele's ass Kalia) that she thought there was no way that Brendon would use the POV to save Rachel and would really save himself but that she would talk to Brendon to get that not to happen. When Shelly left the HOH room, Daniele remarked to Kalia that there's something up with Shelly. Well duh!

Brendon has reiterated to Rachel that he'll use the POV on her so if that stays the same until the POV ceremony on Monday afternoon, he'll still be on the block. It's been expected that Jordan would take Rachel's place on the block if Rachel won POV or was saved so that might stay the plan. However, there was a mention by Daniele to Kalia that perhaps Shelly could go on the block.  I'm not sure that would happen though.

So what do you think about this turn of events? Are you happy that Brendon won the POV? Do you think it's smart to put Jordan up on the block in Rachel's place? Do you think that there's a chance Jordan could be evicted over Rachel? Tell me what you're thinking in the comments!

Dom's Final Plea

The long-awaited conversation between Dominic, Jeff, and Brendon is happening this very second. Dom is claiming he never wanted to go after Jeff, and he's the "scapegoat" for an unnamed other person's (Daniele, whose name never comes up) plan. Jeff is doing most of the replying, and it's already starting to be a circular discussion going nowhere.

Jeff's point is that even if it wasn't Dom's plan to target Jeff, he went with it and never attempted to let Jeff know about it until they were found out. "You are tainted by her." Dom eventually claimed that he'll drop his "realtionship" with Danielle, which we all know will last as long as it takes for him to walk downstairs.

Meanwhile, Kalia has finally realized her dream of being in cahoots with the vets is over...or never was. She has pulled Lawon aside, and has actually cleared the air about her previous lack of trust in him. She admitted that she was one of the stray votes against Keith, and that they need to team up from here on out. They have decided to keep acting the same towards each other so nobody is on to their new partnership.

Daniele Overplays Her Hand

As noted on our show last night, the rest of the vets are starting to catch on to Daniele's game. Yesterday was quite humorous watching everybody have private conversations and then race to tell everybody else (including Daniele) what the others said. Daniele is pushing to have Adam and Dom replaced on the block with Jeff and Jordan, but while it at times seemed like it could actually happen those four are starting to compare notes.

Earlier today, Brendon had a talk with Adam, and basically lectured him on how to play the game. As usual, Adam nodded his head to everything Brendon said, and will probably be saved. Now Rachel is informing Jeff that Daniele's plan was to have him evicted, with Shelly possibly her next target.

Best part of the day? Rachel making deals to throw the next HOH. Um, homegirl, you're not playing next week.

I'll end this short post with a couple of bikini pics, as Sunday is always a sun day.

Nominations and Power of Veto Results

Just a quick update since Hamsterdame, Ash and Scott are all hating this week....  (I kid), yesterday Rachel made her nominations and for the second time Adam and Dominic found themselves up on the block.  The difference is that last week Dominic was the target of Jeff and Jordan, this week it is Adam that Rachel and Jeff would like to see leave the house.

Meanwhile Daniele is actually tossing out the idea of going after Jeff and Jordan, saying that if they were to get Jeff out now it would be one less vote against them because she feels if they vote Jeff and Jordan out and into the Jury they will hold a grudge against them and vote for somone else to win.  Clearly Daniele is hoping to get Rachel and Brendon to do the dirty work.

Today was the Power of Veto competition, amazingly Jeff and Jordan were selected yet again to play, granted it was in theory a 50-50 chance that they be selected - the other couple being Lawon and Kalia but there has always been people, including house guests that suspect there may be something funny with the 'chips' in the POV bag since they are not allowed to inspect the unseen chips after the names have been selected.

Details have yet to come out of what was involved in the POV competition but we do now know that Brendon won it.  Now we will see if Rachel and Brendon decide to keep Adam as their target, redirect their aim on Lawon, or turn the house upside down and put up Jeff and Jordan with the idea of eliminating Jeff and possibly separating Jeff and Jordan for the summer with one in and one out of the Jury House.

Be sure to listen late Saturday night or Sunday for Episode #4 of the Big Brother Gossip Show where we will discuss all this and more.  Look for a new post on the site Saturday night!

The Brenchel Edit

I've found over the course of the past two years that the best way to tell if a person is a live feeder or not is their opinion of Brendon and Rachel. If one spouts nothing but positivity on them or their relationship, I know they only watch the CBS broadcasts. If their very presence annoys the shit out of them, it's safe to say they have spent plenty of time viewing the live stream.

I don't know who they know at the network, but it's clear they have some sort of connection. Throughout both of their seasons, the camera views rarely leave them. Even when they're in a room with many people, you can bet the "closeup cam" is focused on Rachel. When the two are alone, whether it's in the HOH or outside on the hammock, the vast majority of the time all FOUR cam views feature these two bozos.

This wouldn't be as infuriating if CBS didn't completely alter the footage used of the pair. Last year, network viewers were led to believe they were a modern day Prince and Princess; two angelic people brought together by a reality show, destined to live happily ever after. Live feeders saw it completely different - she was a shrill, annoying narcissist, expecting the world to revolve around her, while he was a self-proclaimed expert in everything who could have been a doctor, lawyer, astronaut, President, dictator. Only when the fight with Ragan was televised did viewers have any clue as to her unbearable nature.

Yet last season's edit is nothing compared to this year. As noted in earlier posts, Rachel is a shell of what we saw last year. What little soul she had is scrubbed completely out of her body. There's not a day that goes by without him pulling her aside to belittle her for the smallest sins. In fact, it generally happens at least three times a day. She can't talk to others without being yelled at by him. She can't look in another direction without being read the riot act. I'm surprised he doesn't get pissed whenever she takes a dump.

Like last year, though, CBS-only viewers have no clue as to Brendon's mental abuse. On last Sunday and Thursday's episode, snippets of them "fighting" were shown. Sunday's segment was primarily about plastic surgery, and it was turned into a "I love you the way you are" kissfest from Brendon. Thursday's portion of the show was a two-parter that occurred earlier in the week that had to do with Brendon's pet name, "Bookie". Both of these incidents were ugly to view in real-time, but once again the editors (and clearly coached diary room narration) transformed hours of bitching into a "I love her oh so much even though she's so silly") wink and nod.

It will be interesting to see what is shown on Sunday, as the jealous, bitchy Rachel that we knew last year returned after the network telecast concluded. Rachel picked a fight with Cassi for no real reason, and once again Brendon (along with, but much more calmly,  Daniele and Jordan) belittled her for hours. As this is a big part of the week's plotline, it's going to be extremely tough to give her the same positive edit she's enjoyed so far this season.
