Power of Veto Meeting - Epic? Does Dan have the votes?

Dan is up and waiting for the Power of Veto meeting which will start sometime around 11am BB time.

We assume since Ian won his POV first that he will be given the chance to use it first.  He doesn't plan to use it.  Then Jenn will go and is planning to use it to save Dan and Frank will put Britney up in his place.

Are you going - wait - what?  Then you need to read Ash's recap of last night's craziness.  Go here to read it.

Once that is over we hope the feeds will come back quickly - usually they are back by 12pm BB time.

Britney may be in full meltdown mode or she may still be processing things.

I've speculated on the next part all morning.  Whats going to happen with the voting?

It is all well and good that Dan will most likely now be safe but for his plan to work 100% he wants to see Britney evicted on Thursday.  There are five people voting and only 2 for sure will be voting out Britney.

Dan and Jenn will of course vote out Britney as they have now formed an alliance with her and Frank.

But what of the other three votes?  Shane, Ian and Joe?

Since the plan by Jenn and Frank is to somewhat call out Ian when the POV is used (Frank is going to tell Britney to 'pop a squat'), I'd have to assume that he will be solidly in Britney's corner.

Will Joe and or Shane try to join a four person  alliance and vote out Britney?

If they do the math - like I have been - they'd be better to vote out Danielle - forcing Dan, Jenn and Frank into a three person alliance vs the other four and Frank can't play for HoH for 2 weeks.  Ian, and Shane have both won HoH and Britney has been close.  What have Dan and Jenn done?

It just depends on the way things play out from this afternoon to Wednesday night.  As of right now I could see it going either way.  As much as I wanted all the coaches out - I'd rather see Britney stay this week and have Danielle sent to the Jury House to spend some quality time with Ashley.

Your thoughts?  Do you think Joe will scurry over to Frank and Dan and be their third vote?  Will the Nomance resume and we'll see Shane vote out his own coach?

Its gonna be interesting.

Semi-Endurance Comp

As stated in the episode recap, there is a "Slip-n-Slide" type competition going on right now, with everybody navigating across "ice" to fill jugs with water (or some sort of liquid). Besides winning HOH, each person can instead go after either safety from being nominated/evicted this week or a cash prize of ten grand that was voted on by twitter followers.

The first victory came pretty quickly, as Britney decied to go after safety.

Nominations are in. Have Nots too.

Frank has put up Joe and Wil.  I think Frank and Boogie are actually looking to get Wil out.

Before the nominations the Have Not competition was held and some details are a bit fuzzy but I do know that Shane, Danielle, Joe and Britney are have nots.  It seems like it was a repeated competition - involving moving liquid from small pools to bottles by soaking the liquid up and then squeezing it back out.  Britney commented on the costumes resembling lemons.

The Have Nots also get Candy Canes and Cod to eat this weak.  I hate the food thing, its just a stupid excuse to 'involve' America.

Joe really ticked off Britney and Danielle by yelling at them during the competition.  One reason I feel Franks and Boogie want to get Wil out is they discussed telling Joe to tone it down so as not to put such a huge target on himself.

One other note - Ashley has been in a ton of pain all day and has received more cortizone injections in her right hip area.  She's had difficulty walking today and didn't participate in the have not competition.  She's had issues since the first week.  Some really desperate fans hoped Janelle would come in and Ashley would go home - sorry guys - Janelle is already home according to a tweet tonight.

Tuesday Thoughts

So far today - just after dinner - there hasn't been any major game things going on - Janelle has been talking to people and is being told she is ok - in other words everyone is lying to her.  Right now Janelle is sort of grilling Wil because Joe has told her that Wil was ratting her out (but she is telling Wil that her suspicions are based on something Danielle told her). Janelle just said there may be a big alliance in the house she doesn't know about - and she would be right of course.

Thats how the entire day is going - its a lot of double talk between various house guest.  They will have a conversation with one person and then recount it - in a slightly altered way to another.

I just thought I'd toss up this post to let you know, things are about the same overall - Jannelle is still going at this point.  Dan and Britney have discussed possibly telling Janelle she is going - that may end up biting them in the butt if any of the other HGs end up feeling betrayed by that and decide to throw a wrench in the works and vote Frank out.  I honestly don't think it is going to happen but never say never.

So a few things for those watching the feeds as opposed to just living them through us.

Remember to download your music!  I need to get my second $10 coupon and download it so I can get a 3rd in September.  Canadian viewers - sorry you don't get that option :(

Have you tried the different ways to watch the feeds?  I use my iPhone and I also have been using the little web launcher to watch the feeds - it controls one camera and launches is in a window - I've only tested it on WinXP and Win7 so your mileage may vary and of course you need a live feed subscription to use it.  To try it out click this link and then resize the window (you may beed to right click and choose to open it in a new window if you use tabbed browsing).

Finally there are a couple 3rd party viewers out there - you STILL need a subscription but you can find links on the following pages (these are suggested with no support from me! If you can't figure them out - stick with Real's viewer!):

BBViewer - this is similar to my favorite viewer that is still not available this year, BBLite - it cant do screen caps but as a viewer it does ok.  You will need adobe air to run it and it SHOULD work on Microsoft, Mac and even linux.  Current link to a recent download version here

B3V Big Brother Feed Viewer - lots of options - not all working yet but still another option to Real's player.  Web site with info and download here.

Endurance Competition and Coaches Get to Play? Wrath of Boogie?

Yes, its going to happen.  The coaches will at the very least be given the opportunity to enter the game tonight on the live eviction show and I pretty much expect them to all say YES.  Boogie has said that as long as Frank stays in the house he won't play but guess what? Franks going to be long gone by HoH competition time (unless there is a really odd turn of events).

I've been writing all week about how I was surprised Mike Boogie and Frank have seemed so calm and not nearly as paranoid as I thought and this afternoon my thick skull finally realized why as the two of them were sitting in the Arcade Room plotting ther demise of Shane next week.  These two are convinced that Wil, who doesn't care for his coach Janelle, not his "teammates" Joe and Ashley, is going to vote out Joe so Joe will go home on a vote of 3-2.  The problem is I don't see it happening at all.  Wil doesn't care for Janelle or his teammates but he it worried about the Frank/Boogie combo so he wants to break that up.

That brings us to tonight's show.  I think Frank will be saying goodbye after a 3-2 vote with only Ian and Jenn voting to keep Frank.  Boogie will be furious and looking to get revenge, he has already stated that if Frank goes and he is offered a chance to enter the game he will.  Janelle and Britney both feel they have a better chance at the 500k than the 100k since they think they can play better games than their 'players' and Dan only has Danielle to coach so you'd think he would want in.

Watch Big Brother 14 on SuperPass! All in all it should be a very entertaining night and here comes the plea...  if you don't have the live feeds yet, tonight is the time to check them out - with the endurance HoH coming and the coaches in the game most likely - it should be a wild few days for sure.  So please - if you are going to try the feeds out - Support Big Brother Gossip and sign up for the Big Brother Live Feeds 3 day free trial via this link!!

We will do our best to update the site and keep our twitters up to date as well if you choose to live vicariously through us - but of course its much more interesting when you can see it for yourself and use Flashback to catch the things you might have missed!

See you later tonight!

The Power Of Veto Ceremony Results Are In.

As Ash described in her most recent post, things got a bit crazy last night with Janelle (mostly) convincing Britney of the need to get Frank out before the coaches enter the game as she now fully expects they will.  The pane came to fruition this afternoon and Frank is now on the block, replacing Ashley.

I wouldn't even dream of predicting who will go home on Thursday at this point.  Danielle should be the swing vote if Ian and Jenn both vote to evict Joe and Ashley and Wil voting to evict Frank.

Right after the POV meeting the feeds were (are) all a chatter with people reacting.  Britney lied and told Mike Boogie that they decided they needed to split the vote because otherwise Mike's team would have three votes and thus control who was evicted and they wanted to make sure Joe goes home and not Ashley.  She has assured him that the plan is still to vote out Joe.  Mike seemed to buy the story and proceeded to coach Frank and Ian to stay calm and they would need to start working on Danielle for her vote.  Shane also told Joe the same story.

Ian was a victim of collateral damage because it seems Britney used something he said earlier this week as a reason to put up Frank to control the vote.  I believe the jist of it was Britney claimed Ian wouldn't promise safety for Shane down the road.  Ian is not happy at all because he said what Britney claimed isn't accurate.

Never the less.  It will now be Frank or Joe walking out the door on Thursday.  Will whomever walks out return?  Since we know Kara and JoJo are in sequester we assume at least one HG may get the opportunity to return.  My guess is that if the producers want Frank or Joe to return they will set up a skill competition similar to the one Brendon defeated Lawon in last year.  Both Joe and Frank are much stronger competitors than JoJo or Kara.

Who do you think is going?  Was this a good or bad move by Shane?

Boogie has more material for the DR. Nutty Nominations

Boogie told Frank tonight that he is going to go into the Diary Room and do a bit about how he and Frank are running the house.  Saying that the two of them got a player (Shane) to nominate who THEY wanted and not his coach (Britney).

Yes indeed, somehow Shane decided to nominate Joe and Ashley instead of Joe and Frank which was who he had been saying he would go with - even saying as much to Frank after the Coaches Competition.

Shane seems to believe he has an agreement with Frank to work together - however Frank now feels he is so safe he shouldn't even try to win HoH next week.

Feel free to analyze and discuss the nominations to your hearts content - Shane wants Joe gone - but I can just see something weird happening.  What if Ian competes for and wins the POV and then saves Ashley - who will Shane put up then?  Frank, Jenn or Danielle?

The other event was the Coaches Competition (Screen cap on right) - sounds like it was different yet again in that several things went on.  Here is what I have figured out or guessed from the live feeds.

  • Janelle won and saved Wil
  • Ian won $3,000 somehow
  • Britney made Joe a Have Not
  • Ian is also a Have Not (not sure who made him one)
  • Frank may or may not be a have not.
  • They won a Sushi Party somehow.
  • Boogie may have won $6,000

Scott's Initial Impressions

Wow, it's really quiet around here. Where is everybody? Where are the pages and pages of snarky commentary, bikini shots, and the other commentary we have always been known to offer on this silly little site?

I know, I know, I know - it is just as much my fault as anybody's, but home projects that were projected to be completed by the start of the season were pushed back...and then pushed back again. I just sort of assumed some of our many other correspondents would pick up the slack, but I guess real world issues are also affecting their lives.

So I'm here to fill the void a bit with this list of initial impressions. There's no real rhyme or reason for this analysis, as today isn't a real noteworthy day in the Big Brother timeline. I've just been thinking about these folks today, and thought I'd throw out some observations.

Already Evicted:

Jodi Rollins. What is there to say about a person who first showed up on our television around 20 minutes into the broadcast and was out of the house before the conclusion of the show? Not much, really. She seemed to be a nice person, and reportedly was a so-called "superfan", but judging by her twitter timeline the last few days I don't really think she would have fit in with this crowd. I wish her all the best, but she really didn't have much to contribute.

Kara Monaco. I have a feeling that when the producers decided to book a former Playmate of the Year, they were expecting a brash young lady who preferred to wear as little clothing as possible. They were clearly wrong in that assessment, as she was not only soft-spoken but remained completely covered up her entire time in the house. I mean completely covered up, too. A burka would show more skin than what we normally saw from Kara. She was also completely out of her element in the house, and it is doubtful she has ever seen the show. If she had not been nominated that first week, she probably would have skated for awhile, but her ouster was probably for the best.

Willie Hantz. His story has been widely discussed on this site (most notably by Barefoot Drunk's post a few days ago), but nobody in Big Brother history has crashed and burned like the little brother of some renowned Survivor character. He was handed the HOH after the first competition, and ruled it like he was a King. He made deals with every single person in the house, and was shocked to discover that people actually compare notes. Once things didn't go his way, he flipped out and was given the boot by production. While there are conflicting stories as to what really happened, and the CBS edit did NOTHING to clear them up, the Hantz story is a test case for the higher ups who make contestants watch past seasons while in sequester. You just can't attempt to play a full season in one week.

Current Nominees:

Danielle Murphree. In a season of loons, this woman is easily the looniest. She's supposedly a nurse, but is masquerading as a kindergarten teacher so the house doesn't believe she's smart. Yes, this is her grand plan. She has evil eyes that always seem to be on the verge to disintegrate whatever they're focused on, and constantly talks about her devil Father. The only positive quality I can come up with for her is that she has an ability to turn ANY conversation into being about her. Yeah, she's quite the basket case.

JoJo Spatafora. At first glance, this is the perfect houseguest for me. By the second glance, I'm racing to change to another camera shot. She's from Long Island, and loves to perpetuate the stereotypes of that area. Her voice is a mixture of Fran Drescher and the Jersey Shore morons, and the only thing she seems to talk about is her sexual needs. She also has absolutely no loyalty to anybody. One day she's trying to grab Willie's dick under the covers of the HOH room, and the next she's tearing him apart as the worst person in the world. Granted, the Willie situation put her in a bad spot, and she was attempting to do some damage control, but allies are always collateral damage for the other side to attack.

The Rest of the Noobs:

Ashley Iocco. I have such mixed feelings about this bondage actress/mobile spray tan owner. Her pre-show videos annoyed me to no end, but I warmed up to her in the first few days. The "date" with Ian indicated that she was a good sport, but last night's "panic attack" and paranoia over a non-existent deal between Ian and Frank was ridiculous. She could easily crash and burn any day now, or she could settle down and be a contender for the finals. I doubt it could happen, but she probably has the best chance of any of the new females.

Frank Eudy. I know people who absolutely abhor the son of WWE's Psycho Sid, and I completely understand. Apparently, he farts a lot and has horrible body odor, but luckily for me the feeds don't feature Smell-O-Vision. Oh yeah, jumping on the "bully" bandwagon during last week's final plea speech did little to stir up any confidence. Yet I kind of like this goofball. While he hasn't been real successful in competitions so far, outside of last Thursday's HOH victory, he's not a dumb guy and is obviously pretty athletic. If next week's HOH doesn't rally the troops to oust him, he could be a contender.

Ian Terry. Oh boy. While some of my colleagues ADORE this brainiac "superfan", I have yet to see the appeal. Yes, his social awkwardness is kind of entertaining at times, and he did manage to cut the tension during the Frank/Willie battle with a perfect-timed line, but I just don't see any reason to keep him around except that he is little threat to the rest of the house. When your main goal of being in the house is to make Wikipedia, then you're not one to take seriously.

Joe Arvin. Pure shit-stirrer. He single-handedly created the Willie situation (with an assist from Janelle), and arguably should have been booted by egging it on. He has absolutely no loyalties to anybody, and has turned his back on every person he has aligned himself with. Plus, the fact that he named his group "Diversity" is reason enough to dislike this goon (especially since it was the most un-diverse group ever created). Even the one aspect that is supposed to help keep him around, his cooking, has created tension because he wastes too much of the food. It's only a matter of time before we're thankfully free of his over-the-top diary room expressions.

Shane Meaney. Words really cannot express what a dim bulb this guy is. Seriously, his IQ must be well under 100. The female portion of the house supposedly exists only to entertain him, as evidenced by the CBS episode where Kara's desire to plead her case to remain in the house was a come-on in his eyes. Yet he has won both POV's this season, so he is a physical force to be reckoned with, just don't count on him for any expert scheming. Trust me, even adequate scheming may be a stretch.

Wil Heuser. For me, he is the male equivalent of Ashley. I want to like him. I really want to like him, and quite often the "gay Evan Dando" is a fun person. Yet he is also possibly the bitchiest person on this season's cast, and his mood can turn in a heartbeat. I do think he can go quite far this year, though, as he is not only more intelligent than the majority of the house but is quite athletic. I look to him to excel in the endurance competitions.

The Coaches:

Britney Haynes. Oh my, how far one of my faves has fallen. I loved Britney during her season. I adored her! She looks wonderful in a bikini, and was the queen of the snark, a combo that ALWAYS works with me! As one friend pointed out, though, she had a pretty easy road during her season. She was a part of the big crowd that was dominating the season, so she could just sit back and throw out one-liners.

This year, though, I can barely deal with her. While she initially appeared to have picked the dream team of the season (Willie, Shane, JoJo), her big mouth has done her no favors so far this year. Admitting to Willie that she believed the coaches were entering the game sparked last week's huge fights, and the constant lecturing and hectoring pretty much drove Willie to the confrontation that ousted him. She has done little else other than whine and cry the entire time the feeds have been live.

Dan Gheesling. I must admit that I don't quite get the love and adoration I see on my timeline every time he shows up on the feeds. Seriously, it's insane. Any conversation sets these fine people up for lines about how he's showing up the person he's chatting, or that he's gathering the needed information that will save the day for his team.

Guess what? Whatever tidbits he's gleaned from these people have done nothing to help himself or his team. The first two evictees were from his team, and Daniele doesn't inspire a lot of confidence for his future. What was he doing choosing her, Kara, and Jodi? Ok, he had no choice but to take Jodi for his last pick, but still!

I do like Dan, though. He was entertaining during his season, and made the moves needed to win in a year that didn't feature much competition. This belief that he's a Big Brother superstar is ridiculous, though!

Janelle Pierzina. I have such mixed feelings for Janelle. Yes, she's a great competitor during physical contests, and has a knack for getting people to babble about things she shouldn't be hearing. I don't believe her heart is into being a part of a third season of the show, though, and her rivalry with Boogie is nauseating. If the coaches indeed get to enter the game, I don't think she'll be heartbroken if she doesn't make the cut.

Mike "Boogie" Mallin. Talk about mixed feelings. Actually, talk about 90% hatred. I never was a fan of this clown. I have always hated that he dresses like my nine year-old nephew, or that we're supposed to think of him as a legend. I wholeheartedly am disgusted by his lame attempts to recreate the catchphrases and diary room antics from his earlier years with Dr. Will. His lame-brain premature jump off the platform during last week's coach's competition may be my favorite moment of the show so far.

Chip away the clown act, though, and he's actually been the only coach to give adequate advice to his charges. He may be for the most part ignoring Jenn, but that may be the best move for her game. When it comes to Frank and Ian, though, he seems to be working some magic. Most importantly, unlike Britney he doesn't dwell on these decisions. He talks to Frank or Ian, and then goes to take a nap. That's a great way to work!

Power of Veto Meeting - Its Danielle or JoJo

Monday's Power of Veto meeting went just as expected.  Shane used the POV that he won on Saturday and saved himself.  Frank then put up Danielle in his place, she was the only other person to vote agains him last Thursday.

Come this Thursday the house guests will vote between JoJo and Danielle - there will only be a total of six votes since Willie and Kara both left (under different circumstances) last week.

Janelle's team of Wil, Joe and Ashley will probably vote to evict JoJo (as of now), Boogies team of Jenn and Ian may as well - Britney hopes to convince them to vote out Danielle and then with Shane's vote to evict Daneielle force a tie that Frank could break.  But as things stand now I'm not even sure Shane will vote to evict Danielle as JoJo is strongly associated with Willie and is much more negative than Danielle who is working hard to 'kiss up' to people (like Ian at the left on Monday).

Britney's advice on Monday was to lay low, try not to make waves and not to hang out solely with Shane.  She followed some, but not all of Brit's advice and spent a lot of time sitting around talking with Shane.  Britney even told Shane yesterday that he might just need to vote out JoJo so he appears to be a part of the 'group.'

Meet King Willie!

In case you haven't noticed, Willie has spent his entire reign as HOH lying on his giant throne greeting his peasants only to make sure they follow his rule. Every conversation ultimately includes promises to not repeat what he commands them to do, so each of them have ran around the house believing they are the King's Chosen One.

The two constants in the King's quarters are his loyal Hand, Britney, and his Head Knight, Janelle. They have spent hours and hours listening to the King's convoluted theories and plans, and have reported any dissent they have seen in the rest of the house.

Unfortunately for the King, there has been revolution talk amongst his subjects, and the last twelve hours he has attempted to keep his reign from falling.

While this revolt has rippled up now and then over the last two days, particularly whenever Head Chef Joe opens his big mouth, dissension amongst his Royal Guard is what has sent him into crisis mode.

While making her rounds late last night, King's Hand Britney caught Head Knight Janelle actually having a conversation with Britney's biggest enemy, Coach Dan!

How dare Janelle consort with the enemy! Doesn't she know that Section 8, Rule 9 of the Brenchel Rules of Big Brother Court state that it is expressley forbidden to chat with the opposing side of the House??? This is an unspeakable crime against the Holy King!

After stomping around for a few minutes, Britney ultimately ended up kneeling at the King's bed, expressing her contempt for their Head Knight. Unfortunately, she didn't stop there. She also confessed that there is a Higher Power that may lead to them usurping their King sometime in the next few weeks.

Now the King may not be the smartest tool in this giant tool shed, but the wheels in his head quickly spun to the right setting. This is not good news for His Majesty! This completely ruins every plan and scenario that ran through his brain these last ten days. He had EVERYTHING figured out to waltz right to victory lane, and now those who washed his feet will probably take power!

Oh yeah, this could not be left alone. "You have to tell the peasants", he commanded to his Hand. "No, my fair King", she replied. "I just can't." These lines were repeated with  little variation for the next hour until Britney was so dizzy she her lazy eye closed, forcing the other to quickly follow.

Fast forward a few hours, and the King was seen gathering his peasants for an emergency meeting. Surprisingly, he put on a gentle face as he laid on his throne next to his potential Queen, Joho. "Play your own game." To ensure this mantra sunk into his subjects, he repeated it at least a dozen times. Only that traitor cook dared to speak up against His Majesty, but who takes a cook seriously?

Meanwhile, the coaches were having their own meeting. Well, three of them were, as Boogie became the smartest man in the house by taking a nap. Truthfully, their meeting mainly consisted of small talk, as the Hand was clearly too scared to inform the Knight of the info she gave the King.

The big question during the meeting, though, was which subject would crack first, and how quickly. The answer was as predicted - it was Joe, and he almost leaped over the stairway to race to the Knight with the info. Within a few minutes other subjects informed their coaches of what they King had to say, while the King himself decided that he was going to take a break from game talk. Yeah, right. That won't last long.
