Enough!

I've had to shut off social media for the time being, as the circular discussions are driving me nuts. Just to be clear, I'm as shocked and offended by the various racial and sexual slurs uttered by over half the house as everybody else.

But I can no longer handle the chatter.

Every one of those unfortunate comments is being rehashed and rehashed. We all know what was said! We all agree that it's horrible!

There's no coverup, though. The incidents (except for maybe one case of loose lips) all happened after Saturday's veto meeting. Sunday's show was already in the can at that point, and it also didn't fit Tuesday's timeline. Tonight is the night that it would be shown, during that opening segment that is usually present to make you believe the eviction is a tossup.

I predict some of it will be shown, and it is due to those that heard them on Sunday and Monday. It was those people that led to news outlets such as NPR, HuffPo, and other publications to report on the incidents. It was those people that are ultimately responsibel for Rachel Reilly's self-serving interview with TMZ earlier today.

Without it hitting the media, CBS could have easily swept the story under the rug. They're now forced to deal with it, and I'd be shocked if they didn't. If they do ignore it, then you can scream about conspiracies.

Until then, I'd like a couple of hours of other topics. Can you help a fella out?

A Day In The Life Of: David

Today’s person of choice is America’s favorite surfer dude. A man who somehow has shown himself to the Big Brother powers as a physical threat who should be eliminated as soon as possible. A man who is in love with the Queen of the Aryan nation.

Most importantly, he’s a man who is oblivious to what is going on around him. He’s not fazed by going up as a replacement nominee. It’s all cool, dude. As long as he gets some sun, a nap or two, and a cute little blonde hanging onto him, everything is alright.

This particular day isn’t much different from most. He’s one of the last to rise, and does very little once he does wake up. He plops himself down on the living room couch, and has a chat with Andy. Or, to be quite honest, Andy does the talking. Its rare that you get a word in once he gets going, but David does query him on when he came out to his parents.

He then disappears for awhile again, but is then seen outside laying out by the pool with his boo. Let’s be real. As cute as she is, and even forgetting her non-PC comments, Aaryn is a needy little twit. She rambles on and on about nothing and everything. She has plans to move to L.A., or New York (with GinaMarie), or maybe even somewhere with him. She golfed once, and was great. She’s sick of school. It just goes on and on.

David is her perfect foil. He just smiles, nods his head, holds her hand, and occasionally says things like “you are the smartest, wittiest, most beautiful girl in Big Brother history”. He’s clearly desperate to get that dick wet.

After another period where he’s not found on the cams, until he’s again found with his lady friend. Kaitlin is cleaning the shower, and Aaryn bitches about how her sheets are dirty and that David hasn’t showered in two days. He’s a bit offended. “I do shower...after comps!”

The topic of dirt carries on for awhile longer, as they head into the bedroom. David’s clothes are piled all over the floor, as is their other meathead roommate, Jeremy. Once again, it’s not his fault. “Black Candice”, after all, has slept on those sheets, which brings on this comment from Aaryn - “at least it wasn’t Asian eyes”. Oh dear.

David is again a non-factor in the early evening. He’s seen tossing a sandbag for a bit, and is then again lying around the pool area with Nick and Jeremy. Yes, we have another non-PC event, as Jeremy goes on a long diatribe about the oral sex skills of redheads, brunettes, Asians, and African-Americans. Yes, this is a good crew.

Then something shocking happens. At approximately 6:45 PM Big Brother time, David is seen in the shower! His Aryan girl looks on in glee, and even gives him a kiss after it’s over. No tongue, though, as she won’t do that on camera. As his lady friend takes his place under the water, David wanders around the house before eating a bit of GinaMarie’s pizza. As more people join the kitchen crew, David is again a silent force as Jeremy decides to evaluate all of the women in the house.

The rest of the evening isn’t more scintillating. He sits with a group for awhile, and offers little to the conversation, and then moves on to another. Most of the time is spent with his girl, Jeremy and Kaitlin, and one might as well just watch on mute. This is particularly true when the foursome play pool, as that has NEVER been a great Big Brother cam to watch.

As we head into the late night portion of this report, I suggest you scroll down to Ash’s post. A lot of crap went down during the evening, most of it revolving around Aryan Girl and Jeremy. There’s a fight here, a fight there, a fight everywhere. What is amazing is that David is around during all of this yet has almost nothing to do with any of it! Even when talk comes that Jeremy’s actions may get David evicted, it’s like he’s not there! It is really an amazing job this guy does in always being an extra in his own play.

Yet, it is quite interesting that I’ve now done profiles on three different people that have all been on the block yet have done nothing to further their place in the house. David has done nothing to ensure his safety. I realize he thinks he’s safe because he’s been told Elissa is the target, but shouldn’t he be finding out if that indeed is the case? And how upset is he going to be when he finds out that his pal Jeremy is actually aware of the plan to save Elissa?

While I sort of shook my head when I first heard about the plot to save Elissa over David, I’m now kind of understanding. It is a bit of a wasted eviction, but if he’s not even going to really play the game, why not just send him packing? And maybe next week, his KKK-loving girl will join him on the beach.

A Day In The Life Of: Candice

(Note: In an effort to try something new this year, this post is the second of a new series of profiles. Throughout the season, I’m going to pick one person and try to follow them on the feeds all day. I have some doubt that I’ll be able to devote the necessary time to accomplish this, though. I’m starting off with the first nominees, as obviously this will be my only chance to get one of these peeps.)

Today, I’m following around Candice, the pageant girl who greatly annoyed me in her pre-show interviews. Apparently, she was involved in some blowout before the feeds went live, and this must be the reason she is on the block.

This is a good day to follow anybody around, as Big Brother allows them to sleep in pretty late. Around ten, she makes her way down to the kitchen, as she’s in charge of today’s breakfast. Aaryn mentions that her ass looked good in the dress she was wearing the previous night, and we get a bit of a flirtatious “donkey boot” discussion with Howard. She’s going to try to go all day without swearing, and anytime she does Howard has permission to spank her ass. “The question is, do you like being spanked”, replies Howard. “Oh yes.” Ok then.

Most of the house ends up outside while this marathon cooking session goes on. Seriously, two hours to make pancakes? It’s a bit of a success, I guess, although a bit later GinaMarie and Spencer are complaining about the amount of “extra junk” she added. Candice interrupts this conversation (which was about more than food), and GinaMarie flips her off when she leaves a few minutes later. GinaMarie tells Spencer that if the Elissa thing doesn’t work, then Jessie should go because Candice’s blow-ups “will make her a constant target”. What blowups? We haven’t seen anything.

For the rest of the house, the early afternoon is bikini time. Except for Candice. Just like Jessie yesterday, Candice disappears for hours, before she finally is shown on camera sitting with McCrae, Jessie, and Howard. This convo doesn’t last too long on the feeds, and a few minutes later we hear her being called into the diary room.

She is in out of the feeds for the rest of the afternoon. We do see her hovering around the photo booth after it was unveiled to the house, and is seen laying around outside. Yet she’s completely unseen during the various fights, including the fake one involving Elissa and Amanda. She reappears shortly after that one, though, kind of explaining to Aaryn and Jessie what happened. Game talk ends shortly after that, and we get some scintillating chatter about vaginal shaving, Evel Dick’s departure, and what roles each of them were cast. The only real game chatter is Candice saying that at this point, her “fate is in other’s hands”. She’s just going to enjoy her time, and live with the consequences.

More time passes before we see her laying on the HOH bed, talking to Helen and Andy. This discussion is about Elissa, and her decision to not fess up to being a Reilly. One theory is that she may be on a task of sorts to keep it a secret. Candice complains about how you can’t have a real conversation with her, and she throws out lines about charity work in chats that don’t have anything to do with such a thing. “She said it like fifty times.”

One complaint does make a bit of sense, though. Elissa has said a million times that she wanted to come in the house and create a girl’s alliance, but then does nothing but attack them. Helen heads out the door, and asks Candice if she is coming, too. “I think I want to have a little time.”

She disappears from the feeds again for hours, except for a couple of shots that show her and Jessie sleeping. There’s two of your nominees - sleeping off a very important day.

In the late afternoon, she shows up sitting around the hot tub, as Spencer and Adam are droning on about horror movies and comic books. She pipes in a bit about historical spots in New Orleans, but for the most part just listens to the others.

We’re now in the early evening, and Candice has me looking to sleep. Seriously, she has done nothing today! She admits to it, though, telling various people how she has slept away most of the day. She asks Spencer a couple of questions about how the feeds work, which he replies with erroneous information.

The rest of the night is similar. She pops up here and there, but has little to say. At one point, she babbles about her choice of favorite animals. Is it a smart move for a nominee to do nothing a day before the veto ceremony? In a house where something is going on at any moment, shouldn’t she be putting herself out there as a person that can be an asset? She’s clueless about the Moving Company, the Bieber Wiebers (or whatever they’re called), and every other little cluster of imbeciles! She’s not long for this game.

Pure Comedy

People that know me understand that I'm a curmudgeon that hates almost everything. That's why even I'm shocked at how much I'm loving the live feeds. Seriously, if you don't have them do it now. It's pure gold.

Every single one of these people are delusional, and you never know what is going to happen from minute to minute. Yes, that sounds like a CBS cliche, but it's been true so far.

Today was a perfect example. Paranoia is running rampant, and silliness is in the air. First off, David has started to figure out that he may be a target. That has set him off, and he even spent some time bitching to McCrae about it. Then out of the blue, my pretty girl Aaryn started acting psycho once again, commanding him to do what she tells him. Oh, that girl is a treat.

Then you have two fights going on at the same time. Jeremy goes into the bathroom to yell at Aaryn while she is taking a shower. In the next room, Kaitlin is going nuts, screaming to David and GinaMarie that Jeremy has betrayed her. All of this is because there are various rumors floating around that various people know each other or are related. Meanwhile, Elissa is nowhere to be found...but I'm sure smiling like a proud Reilly.

Elissa is part of the big winner of the afternoon, though. Amanda, who must have a dozen different deals by now, has been working an old versus young rivalry. She sits down with Elissa to talk about making a deal. They decide that the best plan for them is to pretend they're arguing, and she'll storm off.

The problem is that our dear Amanda has not taken any lessons from Strasburg, and nobody even raises an eyebrow as she stomps away. Attempting to make sure everybody know they hate each other, Amanda makes a show of stomping away again when Elissa sits in the same area as her. Still...crickets. Nobody gives a shit.

It's not going to work anyway, as Elissa told McCrae just a couple of minutes later that it's a hoax. Oh well.

The night is young. I can't wait to see what happens next!

First Night Jitters

With the first CBS show under our belt, we had some time to kill before the feeds went live. How did you spend that time? In my case, it was primarily drinking. As time clicked closer and closer to 11 pm (I'm a central time zoner), the anticipation grew. Just how different were these people from what we saw on the show? Was Jessie still bragging about her hotness? Has Elissa taken over the show, ala her sister's two seasons?

The time finally came, and a quick refresh of my browser and this is what I saw:

YES! Girl party!

Unfortunately, the eastern portion of the country didn't see this. They saw nothing. Apparently, there was a glitch of some sort caused by the fact it was past midnight, and the official Big Brother clock was a different date than my east coast friends. It was discovered that if they backtracked a few hours, and then hit live, they'd be online. Or if they changed their computer's clock.

So what did we see? The first thing I noticed was a sad Jessie. This was not the over-confident, self-procliamed "hot girl" we saw on the CBS broadcast. Nope, she was a pure mope.

We found out a bit later that there were two reasons for her attitude. One reason was that she was nominated for by McCrae (along with Candice), and, probably more importantly in her mind, she was having boy problems with Jeremy. I guess we do have a love triangle in the house, with the third party being the lovely Kaitlin.

There's also another couple in the house. Aaryn is with David and there's talk that they knew each other before the show. This needs further investigation. There was also supposedly a pre-live feed cat fight that involved Candice. I don't know much about this at this point.

They boys all have alliances with each other, and most of them have multiple alliances. They're playing hard right off the back, particularly Nick. I have to say I completely misjudged him in the pre-show videos. He may ultimately hurt himself by playing so hard so fast, but he is a smart cookie.

For a guy like me, this is a wonderful cast. All of the girls are relatively attractive. Candice is the least appealing for me, but even she cannot be described in derogatory terms. For female fans, though, it's a disaster. Seriously, these dudes are all dorks! Why oh why do multiple women want stupid Jeremy?

I didn't last long with the feeds last night, as the effects of the alcohol made me weary. There's also the fact that the first night of feeds is a bit of a cluster fuck in multiple voices babbling at the same time. But at least there was no "Big Booty".

The Night Owl

The Big Brother Gossip website and CBS live feeds are both having issues tonight, so make of this blog what you will.  Half the night the feeds were not working, and half of the night the sound was out on 1/2 of them.  I will try to convey the basics and what I learned though. I am also unable to upload pictures, so sorry for the lack of those.

When I first got my feeds working tonight, all the HGs were gathered in the living room in the midst of a fashion show (yawn).  Helen won and was crowned with a fuzzy pink kitten hat.  After this the HGs broke off into little groups in different places.

16 HGs is a LOT of people to try and follow, so I am still completely fuzzy on the details of who is aligned with who.  Here is what I know:  McCrae is HOH.  He has nominated Candice and Jessie.  He seems to have an alliance with Nick and possibly Howard, Jeremy, and Spencer.  The have nots are Andy, Elissa, Judd, Howard, and Helen.  We do not know who the MVP is yet, but a lot of the HGs, along with the rest of the world, are pretty sure it will be Elissa.  AAryn is positive it will be Elissa and that she will be the one nominated. I think they must have had a confrontation of some sort before the feeds came on.  A lot of the girls are really interested in the idea of getting Elissa out, but are pretty sure it won't happen this week. McCrae and Judd had a discussion about wanting to keep Elissa around so that there would be a big target in the house.  Obviously we all know production would never let her go out this soon.  They also all seem to either by noticing or by hearing it realize that she is Rachel's sister.  The HGs have been on lockdown all night, which leads me to believe they are likely playing POV tomorrow/today.

There are crazy romance, couples, and love triangles everywhere.  Aaryn and David already seem to be a full on couple.  Jessie (who I despise already) spent most of her night not only whining about being nominated, but whining about how Jeremy (who apparently at one point showed some interest in her) was now flirting with and laying in the same bed with Kaitlin.  She spent a good hour or more telling Jeremy how she felt about him showing Kaitlin attention.  Kaitlin gives as good as she gets and spent a good portion of the night complaining about Jessie and Jessie's relationship with Jeremy. Jessie's insecurities really started hanging out when she tried to talk to several other HGs about being nominated and she really seemed to be losing it.  I'm hoping for a full on meltdown very soon.

What I got from Candice is that she talks LOUD and she talks a LOT...to EVERYONE.  She spent most of the night talking about everyone to everyone else.  I have no idea where her true loyalty lies at this point.  She does seem to be closer to Jessie than to the other girls she was talking to though.

I could see, but couldn't hear much of anything from Andy, Judd, Nick, McCrae, Elissa (small blessings), or Howard, so I can only tell you that it was obvious that they were doing some gaming, but I have no idea what they were saying.

I'm actually really loving this cast so far.  I only loathe Jessie, Elissa, David, and Jeremy so far.  That's pretty good out of a cast of 16.  I'm loving McCrae and I am happy for him winning HOH. This is the first time in a long time that I've liked the first HOH.  I also still like Nick.  He shows promise as a gamer, he is pretty smart (so far anyway), and he was the last one hanging in the HOH comp with McCrae. I like Andy a lot from what I have seen of him, but that was very little tonight.  What did you all think of the first episode? Who are your early favorites?  Welcome to BB 15!!!

Hopefully tomorrow night more of the bugs will be worked out and I can give you all a more thorough rundown of everything that has happened.  I also tweeted pretty much every ridiculous thought in my head about what I saw (including pics of GinaMarie with a tampon up her nose) @ashes2ashes13 if you want to read through that nonsense.

We Are Now Live (Sort Of)

At (almost) precisely noon, Big Brother time, CBS unlocked the page where the live feeds will commence in two weeks. Note, and this is very important, THE LIVE FEEDS HAVE NOT YET STARTED!!!! You may think that's stating the obvious, but after spending an hour in the chat some people didn't get the memo. In fact, more than a few people claim there are blogs stating that there are rumors that CBS will turn on the live feeds early (as in today). This is impossible, as there are no people in the house yet! Come on, folks, be a littler smarter.

So what do you get at this point? Not much, to be honest. There are some videos hosted by Jeff, and a chat box. But as time goes on, CBS is likely to add some more content to view in the form of videos and talk shows. Just like Real did in previous years.

Currently, the CBS iPad/iPhone app does not have the feeds. I would bet that there will be an update soon to accomodate that. Instead, you must go to CBS.com on Safari (or whatever browser you use). Once you're logged in, the site looks pretty nice on the iPad.

If you have trouble logging in on your phones or desktop, here's a quick primer:

1. Go to CBS.com

2. Click on the Big Brother banner.

3. Towards the top of the page, there is a "Sign In" box next to "Already a Subscriber?". Click on that.

4. Sign in with Facebook, Twitter, or your email address (depending on what you used when you purchased the feeds).

5. You should automatically end up on the Live Feed page, which currently just shows "Early Bird" on the left hand side of the screen, the chat rooms on the right, and the selection of videos to view at the bottom of the page.

If you need help, don't hesitate to ask me on twitter (bigbrothrgossip).

Rumors, Lies, and Wishful Thinking

Just a quick little update of sorts...and, of course, some self-promotion. While season 15 commences on Wednesday, June 26, the first episode of The Big Brother Gossip Show is tentatively scheduled for two weeks from tonight (June 22). We’ll probably ustream the live recording, which again will tentatively be set for 10 pm ET.

By then, we will know who will be going into the house, so the rumor mill will have dissipated a bit. Wow, there have been some crazy rumors! Originally, we were led to believe that it was all-newbie cast, and the biggest ever, but there is now some doubt to that. Some people are still claiming it’s an all-stars season, but there is NO evidence to support that. Trust me, NO evidence.

Another story floating around that seems to be gaining some traction is the presence of former Survivor and/or Amazing Race cast members. My initial reaction to that is “meh”, but it could work as long as it is not a past winner or big name. My problem with returning Big Brother cast members has always been the new players treat them as royalty. Veterans of other shows may not have the same advantage, but it would be similar. I want everybody to be on the same level.

One other rumor with some legs (and we all know I love legs) is a twist involving players who know each other. This I’m not crazy about, mainly because it’s been done before! At this point, though, it’s clear that the producers believe the show is all about twists, and, as usual, the commercials that are currently airing promise more big twists than ever. I’d rather they just fill the house with brazen psychos that aren’t afraid to ruffle feathers. Even the best twists can’t save a season full of robotic Shane-types.

Of course, I have to include a plea to buy your live feeds. If you don’t purchase them through the links on this page, please support your favorite Big Brother sites. In fact, buy from anybody but those former Real twits, please. CBS promises that starting on Monday, they will have content exclusive to feed watchers, so it makes sense to buy them as soon as possible. Plus, you save 20%!

A Couple of Odds And Ends

There have been a lot of questions coming our way these past few weeks, so I thought I'd throw a quick post up here. How the hell have you all been this winter, by the way? Personally, I have a new side gig that is taking up a lot of time, which is why...

No, I'm not watching Big Brother Canada. Ok, I take that back. I'm watching the actual broadcasts on YouTube. I'm not, however, watching the feeds. There are many factors why, including the new second job as a music writer for the local newspaper (Argus Leader). This is also a much busier TV time than summer, so I am constantly struggling to empty my DVR.

The main reason I'm not watching, though, is pure lack of interest. Yes, it is an all-noob cast, so one of my Big Brother US dreams is being fulfilled up north. Outside of that, I don't have much positive to say. They have completely copied the U.S. formula - HOH, POV, Have-nots, slop, etc. They've even recycled all of the speeches before the various ceremonies, including the much derided "who wants to see my HOH room?" There are a couple of elements borrowed from other countries, though. There's a telephone AND a talking moose that give the players tasks to win dinners and booze.

I'm also not taking a liking to the cast. I don't really hate anybody, though, except for possibly the recently evicted glitter king, Gary. I just haven't developed any positive OR negative feelings about the rest of the cast. I have nobody to root for or against. They're all just dead weight.

One of this site's other contributors, Ash, is a big, big fan, though, so if you do want updates then you should click her twitter link on the left side of this page.

Ok, now on to the other big news. Last week, it was announced that CBS was taking over this year's live feeds. They will not be handled by Superpass. Obviously, this raises a million questions, and we really don't have any answers. As more details emerge, I'm sure Mike will be quick to update the site, and we may even do an early Big Brother Gossip Show episode to explain everything.

Don't forget, though, that this season will be starting a couple of weeks early. The season premiere is currently scheduled for June 26. What does that mean for this season? Who knows, but it does indicate that there will probably be even more contestants than last year.

What would you like to see happen this year? Do you disagree with my critique of the Canadian version? Have at me, my friends. It's been awhile since I've had hate mail. :)

Dead In The Water....The Night Owl

Well so far tonight, nothing happened.  No really, nothing.  Nothing out of the ordinary or new anyway.

The day started very very early when BB woke up the HGs to rush the veto ceremony.  Dan was called to the DR and was tipped off that he should be concerned about being back doored and then they instantly started the veto meeting before Frank could even finish talking to Boogie about the idea of putting Dan up.  So, needless to say, the feeds came back and everything stayed the same.  Thanks a lot production.  The chance was small in the first place, but they definitely made sure it wouldn't happen once Frank started really pushing the issue with Boogie.

After the meeting Joe hugged Frank and Boogie (so obvious) and Wil had a panic attack. The rest of the house commenced daily boringness of playing in the pool and sleeping.  The general consensus of course is that Wil is dead in the water. There really is no hope. I would be willing to bet every penny I have that nothing will change between now and Thursday and he will be the one walking out the door...sigh..there goes my overnight entertainment.

There was a moment tonight where Britney said she wanted to talk to Wil and that she was considering her options, but unfortunately because dingbat crazy eyes was told by Ian the worm that Wil was after Dan, she has had on her mean pouty puss all day and each time Britney brought up the idea of considering their options she has said "No, I KNOW Wil is after Dan. He HAS to go!".

To add insult to injury, before Wil can even talk to Britney, Joe comes over to the hammock where Britney and Danielle are talking and tells his own version of what he thinks happened the night prior.  He spins a story involving Wil saying he wanted Britney, Danielle, Shane, or Dan to leave this week in exchange for safety and that he made a deal with Frank but that Frank completely blew it off.  He went on to say that his integrity is obviously higher than Wil's and that he really wants to be there blah blah blah.

Upon Joe's exit from the hammock Danieel seethes "I KNEW IT! I JUST KNEW HE WAS AFTER US! HE HAS TO GO!".  Britney puts her own spin on it recalling a conversation that happened about a week ago before noms happened saying that Wil was a liar because he said he wanted to work with she and Shane.

The problem with all of these conversations is that there are tiny TINY bits of truth in them..just enough to make it look suspicious and they are all taken out of context.  Wil did not go upstairs and say what Joe said he did.  He just went and pled his case...he tried to fight which is what anyone would do on the block.  He basically said "why waste a week on me or Joe when there are bigger targets in the house."  He strongly implied Dan, but definitely didn't say Britney or Danielle.  The part about wanting to work with Britney and Shane was a conversation they had before Noms when he told her that he had no one but Ashley to work with and she was hurt and that he would like SOMEONE to work with and would be open to talking to she and Shane. I think it's a damned if you do and damned if you don't mentality.  If you talk to people you are a liar and a schemer. If you don't talk to anyone you are just floating and not playing the game.

Anyway...after this hammock discussion Danielle went inside and told all Joe's lies and Britney's spins to Dan as if they were truths that she actually knew to be fact.  Apparently Joe is trustworthy now and none of them can see that Joe has a deal with Frank and Boogie. Good grief. She then went on to bitch and complain about how Shane is such a dick because he talked about how hot Dani Donato is.  Dan cut her off with "This is why I said NO SHOWMANCES".

There are a lot of little conversations like this going on in the house, but none of them vary far away from the same general idea which is get Wil out first and hope it's a fast forward or DE so they can get Joe out.

Meanwhile Joe continues to lie and scream his cooking shows at the camera and tell big whopping stories that annoy the shit out of everyone.  Danielle continues to act like a psycho about pretty much everything.  Britney continues to talk shit about everyone and somehow not be found out, and the boys in the house work out and occasionally make comments about how they are definitely keeping Joe.

I'm kind of bored to tears with these people right now. I don't feel like anything exciting will happen until at least Thursday. I'm to the point of most likely going to bed at 2am rather than holding out for 6am when they all go to bed.

I am of course sad that my favorite is going to be walking out the door.  I hoped and I hoped but alas hope has failed ...oh well..on to the next one.

But alas...I probably could have written this blog in two simple words "Nothing changed".
