Waiting For Thursday - Alliances Firming Up.

Tuesday has arrived in the house and frankly we are all now just sitting around waiting for Thursday.  I don't see a major change coming so Monet should be out the door then and a lot of alliances will be broken or solidified based on who wins the next HoH.

Here is a quick run down of each HG and where they seem to be to be aligned:

Andrew: I'm not even sure.  Closest ally is probably Brendon. I think he thinks he is in tight with Brendon AND Rachel - not sure Rachel feels that way.

Brendon: Clearly in tight with Rachel.  Andrew might also be close.  Kathy via Rachel and Kristen via Rachel as well.

Britney: Doesn't really have anyone in the house - Monet wil be out on Thursday - Enzo and Lane have been the nicest to her the last couple days but they would vote her out tomorrow over most other HGs.

Enzo: The 'Brigade' seems to have lost some power this week - and he is considered a bit of a loose cannon - several times his co-Brigade members have talked about him needing to go out.  In good with Britney so if she gets HoH he will be safe for sure.

Hayden: I have to say at this point his closest ally is probably Kristen.  The Brigade might be #2 - but it looks to me like the two 'couples' might form an alliance depending on how the next HoH goes.

Kathy: Has gotten really tight with Rachel (and thus Brendon) the last few days - sleeping with her nightly in the HoH room.  Its been noticed by the other HGs and may hurt any other alliances she thought she had.

Kristen: Hayden and Rachel appear to be Kristen's two closest allies.  Last week Hayden had suggested bringing her in with the "Brigade"and that might still happen depending on the next HoH.

Lane: Besides the "Brigade" - Lane doesn't seem to have any strong alliance - although Hayden has implied to him that he thinks the two of them would be a strong alliance.  Like Enzo, Hayden has been nice to Money and Britney so if Britney gets HoH he would be safe - yet he also would most likely vote her out over a lot of other HGs.

Matt: Another "Brigade" member, he may consider this his strongest alliance, but he and Ragan have also been talking a lot and seem to be aligned pretty strongly.  Matt has said Andrew has it out for him, why I don't know.  Rachel is concerned he might be using his 'pawn' nomination for sympathy with the others.

Monet: Done.  Britney is her only ally.  If she doesn't leave Thursday I will be dumbfounded.

Rachel: Brendon is obviously her closest ally.  Then would have to be Kathy after the last few days.  She also considers Kathy (and maybe Hayden) an ally and Ragan she looks to for advice (but I don't think Ragan trusts her or wants to be aligned with her).  Her over confidence this week is getting to some but I think others consider Brendon more of a danger of the "Brenchel" couple.

Ragan: I think his only real close ally is Matt - he is friendly towards several HGs and I had seen him as more of a floater until he talked to Matt yesterday and talked about how the house alliances are still shifting.  He had seemed to be close to Rachel but after her actions the last 24 hours by proclaiming she had secured the votes to evict Monet during the POV ceremony, he thinks she is putting a huge target on herself and wants to keep his distance.

I am sure I missed a lot - feel free to comment - but that's kind of where things stand.  Again, a lot will come down to the next HoH.  If anyone but Britney wins HoH - and targets Britney - I think it will be a huge mistake.  A 'strong' player, or perhaps I should say someone who has strong alliances, would be the person I would go after if I were to win HoH.

The Second POV Winner Is

The hamsters had an early wakeup call this morning in preparation for today's Power of Veto competition. After bitching and moaning for a bit they all finally got up and began moving around. There was plenty of complaining from Britney about her new Have Not bed (chaise lounge) and speculation from all about Big Brother calling them to the Diary Room so late.

Eventually though the players were picked for the POV competition. We knew Rachel would be playing along with her two nominees, Britney and Monet. Lane, Enzo, and Brendon would be joining them in the backyard for a little afternoon fun. Britney and Monet knew that they had to win the POV themselves in order to guarantee their safety this week as there was no chance nobody else would save either one of them if they won POV.

After more than three hours of trivia on the feeds, the hamsters finally reappeared on my small screen. Brendon and Rachel were up in the HOH room talking about a replacement nominee. Oh my goodness, that means that either Monet or Britney won it!

In the Have Nots room Enzo, Britney, and Monet were going on about the competition. Monet was crying and Britney and Enzo began trying to figure out the votes to save Monet. Guess what that means! Britney won the POV! Woohoo!

The competition itself was a timed competition. Britney said she was the first to drop. Enzo said he went fourteen seconds over. As the houseguests talked more about the competition, it sounds like they had to do something as close to an hour without going over. Enzo just keeps going on to Brenchel about being fourteen seconds over and how if he had won POV everything could have stayed the same and Britney would have gone home. (He doesn't know that Monet is Brenchel's target.)

Rachel was talking to Brendon about asking Britney not to use the POV at all and they would guarantee to  her that Monet would go home over her. Hey guys, there is NO WAY that Britney would pull a Marcellas. They also tossed around putting Kathy up as a pawn but they're worried that Kathy would get all emotional and take it personally. They're also still tossing around using Matt as the replacement nominee and feel that he'd be cool with it.

So there's no definite replacement yet but I'm sure once Brenchel gets more alone time tonight a decision will be made. I think they're going to go round and round a bit but will find their way back to the Matt plan. No matter what happens, I just Monet to go home this week! She's so boring! And while Britney can certainly be a little bitch at times, she's not an idiot and acts more like she wants to play the game. I love that about her!

What do you think about Britney winning the POV? Are you happy, sad, or mad? Who do you think Rachel should replace Britney with to ensure Monet's eviction?

Meet The New Hamsters Of Big Brother 12 - Part 2

Welcome to the continuation of yesterday evening's post and more of my very unscientific snap judgments on the new Big Brother Hamsters!  One week from today we're going to see the new Big Brother 12 houseguests in action on our big and small screens.  I'm getting more and more excited as the hours pass and I hope you are too.  So let's get on with their bios shall we?

KathyKathy is my pre-season favorite.  She is a 40-year-old Deputy Sheriff in Arkansas and is an ovarian cancer survivor.  She seems fairly down-to-earth with a little thrill for adventure.  I actually don't see anything about her bio that I don't like.

Now some (outside of the house) won't like the fact that she's with law enforcement but I have a feeling that those in the house will be intrigued by it. I just hope that she's not asked too many questions about it because that will only mean one thing (fish or five or whatever the hell else it'll be called this season) on the feeds.  I can't see any other things that people could NOT like about her at this point although I'm sure we'll hear the standard hick jokes about her shooting guns and goin' muddin'.

I'm pretty sure that Kathy will find herself in the house mother role rather easily and because of her age and her job she'll probably get along with everybody pretty well.  So put me down for Team Kathy!

KristenScott, one of my fellow bloggers here, is already pretty taken with Kristen.  She is a gorgeous young lady and seems to have a decent head on her shoulders according to her bio.  I appreciate that she's been on her own (financial and otherwise) since the age of 18.  Yeah, she's only 24 but that seems to be more and more abnormal nowadays so good on her!  A boutique manager from Philadelphia, Kristen enjoys going to the gym, meditating, and shopping.  I find it interesting that Braden (BB11) was her favorite just because of his looks.  Something tells me she'd never heard of Big Brother before and was probably cast for the show.  What a shocker right? Ha!

Overall, I like Kristen so far and I hope that the word 'like' isn't used too often when she speaks.  She's also going to be great eye candy for the guys both in and out of the house.

LaneIf Kristen is looking for a romance (or even a showmance), Lane seems like a perfect match for her.  An oil rig salesman in Texas, he considers himself funny, outgoing, and athletic.  Lane enjoys riding motorcycles, working out, and hanging with his friends.  OK, this guy's entire bio should just be put up on any one of the various online dating sites.  He sounds like a petty swell guy outside of the house but I wonder how exciting he'll be to watch inside the house.

Oh, and being afraid of electric fences?  That's a little weird but understandable I guess.

MattMatt is another hamster with an almost perfect-sounding bio up. 32 years old, he's a web designer that enjoys playing and writing music, hockey, and annoying people for his own amusement.  Matt considers himself intelligent and a sweet-talker who says that while he's in the house it's going to be all about the game.  Let's hope he's not one of those that makes up stupid little lies about himself.  I can't stand those types!

He's a fan of Will (BB2, All-Stars) and Dan (BB10) and seems to have a little cockiness about himself.  I can't try to even guess how exciting he'll be to watch on the feeds but his bio sounds more exciting than Lane's.  Not by much though.

MonetMonet seems interesting.  She's a 24-year-old model in Illinois who still lives at home with her parents (according to one of the videos from The Early Show).  That's something that automatically gets on my nerves - especially when she's referred to as a princess.  However, she seems like our typical young beauty put in to have America fall in love with.

She says she's the coolest person you'll ever meet (gag) and considers herself exotic and active.  Monet says she's not a fan of "ditsy, stupid girls or guys who think they're all that" but is a fan of Jordan (BB11).  Now before all of you Jordan fans get up in arms and storm the comments with pitchforks, I never thought that Jordan considered herself 'all that' but come on, she was a ditz.

Monet's proudest accomplishments are being on 'The Young and the Restless' and having a great drivers license photo.  She also says she thinks that Big Brother's had too many trashy bimbos on the show so let's hope she doesn't find herself falling into that role.

RachelRachel is another hamster that seems like she'll be interesting to watch.  A 26-year-old VIP cocktail waitress in Las Vegas and a Chemistry graduate student? Hmmm.  She considers herself bubbly and effervescent and everything about her bio says that about her as well.

She says she's going to hustle the hamsters in the house like she does at work (to get them to buy her champagne) and I can see that about her.  I think she'll definitely be one of our top schemers this season and I can't wait to see what she does.  Will she start scheming too early and burn out or let it simmer.  Something tells me this girl is not the simmering type though.

RaganRagan is a guy I'm just really not sure about.  He's a 34-year-old college professor in California who considers himself funny, intelligent, and genuine.  His voice got on my nerves like nothing in a long time in the Early Show videos and he seems to be quite exuberant.

His strategy for winning Big Brother is the perfect one as a combination of it has worked in just about every season.  Whether he can do it or not is another story.  As a gay man, he says he'd rather not live with homophobes (well duh).  He also says he'd rather not live with ultra conservatives or 18-23 year-olds.  I can understand that since that's the ages of the kids he teaches at school.  But isn't that kind of stupid at the same time considering the show he's going on?

I could crack jokes on his silly bow tie but I won't because it wouldn't surprise me if Big Brother made him wear that for his picture.  At least I hope so!  I think Ragan is going to be quite the hamster to watch.  I'm just not sure if it's going to be in a good or bad way.  Regardless, I'm sure he'll bring some conversation topics to the table more important than the latest fashion crazy or Twilight movie.

So that's the rest of the hamsters this season!  What do you think about them?  Do you have any that you like or dislike so far?  I can't wait until they get into the house and our pre-season opinions change of them.  That's one of my favorite things each season!
