The Night Owl - Weds Night

As expected, today and tonight was a mixture of mini-scrambles and chats about the upcoming eviction, HOH competition, and who people within various alliances will nominate if they should win.

Now that The Detonators alliance is solidified, there were a lot of chats between various members of that group about who to put up if two of their members should win.  All of them are a combination of people like Victoria/Jocasta/Brittany/and possibly Amber or Donny.

Donny had an interesting conversation with Caleb at the chess table tonight where he told Hayden that he trusted him completely but that Zach and Cody like to hang out with "the enemy".  Donny seems to consider the enemy to be Derrick.  He told Hayden that he knows that Derrick had to know that he was going to be nominated and that it wasn't just Nicole's decision this past week.  He also said he wouldn't mind seeing Derrick feel the block a little bit.

Derrick and Cody (now called The Hitmen) had a few discussions about who they would prefer up and out this week and also in the future.  The both agree that this week either Jocasta or Victoria or Brittany can go and that Donny could also go if they got the chance to send him out because they feel like that would leave Brittany and Jocasta pretty powerless. As far as future plans, they say after they get down to just the 5 in their alliance, they would like Frankie to be the first to go.  Derrick says Frankie makes him nervous with his game. (please please please let them go after him soon!)

Speaking of Frankie... Zach was back to his old bad habits of telling Frankie too many things tonight.  When Frankie pointedly asked him what the name of his alliance with Cody and Derrick was, he told him it was called Los Tres Amigos.  I'm pretty worried that Zach's trust in Frankie will be a big part of his demise in the game if he doesn't knock it off.  The two of them also had a really late night/early morning chat about alcohol and weed use and withdrawal.  It appears for now they are holding to their final 2 deal.  I don't expect Frankie to stick with that at all though. For the record, I also can't read Zach at this point when it comes to Frankie.  He agrees each and every time someone mentions wanting him to go soon and even adds his own reasons for not trusting him, but he still gives Frankie more info than he needs to when talking to him. I can't tell if he really does trust Frankie, or if it's just bad game play and saying too much on his part.  Either way, I hope it doesn't kill his game for him.

As far as game talk goes, that is mostly it. However, there were some insanely funny moments over the course of the night as well.  I am not even sure how the conversation started or how Zach ended up trapped with Caleb in the HOH room, but what followed was one of the most hilarious conversations I've heard in a while.  Caleb is very VERY sure that he is going to be very VERY famous when he leaves the BB house.  This hasn't been a secret or anything, but he really laid it all out there tonight.  There was much talk of airports and restaurants being alerted before he arrives in his limo and the appearances he will be willing to do.  Events like "Go hunting with the Beastmode Cowboy from BB 16", and let us not forget that when he comes into any town now, it will be on the front page of the paper.  There was also a lot of Amber talk in there about how he is done with her (and yet can't stop talking about her) and how he thinks she and Cody are the ones in a showmance right now.  I really don't know how Zach kept a straight face listening to all of this, but if you have the feeds, I highly suggest flashing back and listening to at least a little of it.  I believe the convo was around 11pm BB time.

I should also mention that before that conversation, there was a titilating conversation about Caleb's breasts being sore (see what I did there?) and going to the medic to have his estrogen levels checked.

After Zach escaped the conversation with Caleb, there was more hilarity down in the bathroom area when a few of the various HGs were sharing their "numbers"..sexually speaking, and being silly in general.  The most amusing part of the conversation was that it was in stark contrast to the literal Bible study going on merely feet away in the Hive Room. During this conversation, Christine and Zach also agreed that they should see if they could get the house to cheer louder than the audience when Devin walks out the door tomorrow night.

That's about it for tonight. Everyone seems to be winding down for bed.  Most of them think today will bring an endurance comp.  I really don't know if it will or won't.  Usually we can tell in advance what kind of comps are likely to be coming, but this year with the two HOH twist, it's hard to know how they will play it.  I wouldn't mind seeing a good endurance comp, though I fear that Frankie may win one of the HOH spots if that happens... I hate to admit it, but he has the want to win one and I'm pretty sure he has the ability.  What I would LIKE to see happen would be some controversial HOHs and some controversial nominees so that we get a more interesting week.  With this safe easy get Devin out week, we didn't see very much action.

We shall see what tomorrow brings after eviction. I still expect Devin to definitely go with a vote of either 11-0 or 9-2 if Christine and Nicole throw their wonky votes.  As always you guys can follow me @ashes2ashes13 for more overnight updates. Until tomorrow night...

The Night Owl - Sunday Night

I realize I've said it almost as many times as Devin has told us he has a daughter, but Devin being HOH AND having the power of veto really might be the most awful thing ever.  At least from my perspective.

Let's see... Where do I start?  I woke up today to the news that Zach was being considered for the replacement nominee if Devin takes Brittany down.  It seems yesterday's little tiff where Devin told him that he didn't trust him was just the start of things to come.  Between Devin's determination to put someone out that won't kiss his ass, Frankie being Frankie and talking shit about everyone and especially Zach, and Zach not helping himself at all, unless something drastic happens, he is going up and likely going home.

There was a meeting of the minds of the BS minus Devin and Zach where Derrick and Caleb both talked a lot about keeping everyone together and how it would be stupid for them to start getting rid of their own alliance members.  Derrick suggested they get Zach up and awake and tr to get him to talk things out with Devin.  Zach, who might be the worst person on slop I've ever seen, hadn't eaten or slept, or drank anything for quite a while, but was raised from the dead to talk to Devin.  It. Did. Not. Go. Well.

There were about 4 rounds of conversations/heated discussions.  In each one, Devin was Devin and was expecting a bow down to me and apologize for ever having questioned me type-o-thing, and Zach just wasn't having it at all and jumped in between making very little sense and saying things like "I just don't care anymore. Nominate me and send me home."  Which made Devin even more determined to do so.  Then Zach went back to sleep.

Derrick and Cody worked on pep talking Zach throughout the da trying to explain to him that he just really needed to eat/sleep/suck it up/and tell Devin what he needs to hear at least until after the nomination ceremony.  I don't know if any of that really sunk into his head or not.

Between socializing and regular house stuff, the day and night basically alternated between Frankie feeding Devin's want to put Zach up and out, Frakie ratting Zach's secrets to other people in their alliance, and Derrick and Cody trying to rally Zach and get him to save himself.  Surprisingly, even Caleb has been trying...to not much avail.

Later in the evening we learned about the new Team America players.  In addition to Donny, we also have Derrick and Frankie.  I personally am not excited about this twist.  It makes Frankie want to Frankie it up for the cameras even more (which I'm not a fan of) and it immediately made the three of them agree that they are in a final 3 alliance.  Donny seemed really sincere about his commitment to it, Frankie seemed like Frankie..which means he will probably do the tasks and get the money but not care that much about the alliance in general, and Derrick (who I am the most worried about) was really excited that America likes him and seems sincere at this point about making this alliance and the Team America stuff into his game.

I hate it for Derrick because up until now, he has been playing a nearly flawless game, and I feel like this will screw him over royally. I hope I am wrong though. I really hope this doesn't affect him and he continues to play his own game in addition to Team America tasks.

Speaking of Derrick, this guy has the patience of a saint...or a real parent (yeah I'm looking at you, Devin).  He finally managed to get Zach out of bed and put a few bites of food in him in hopes of getting him to rally and try to save himself, but his efforts didn't go all that well and Zach went back to sleep.

Since then, Devin has been going in circles talking to Frankie and Christine about how he wants to put Zach up and out because he thinks he has "gone rogue".  Caleb and Cody on the other feed have been chatting about how they don't think that is what is actually happening.  They still think Victoria is going up. Sigh...

I am calling it a very early night because one, I'm really tired, and two, I really want to be awake for the veto meeting tomorrow which should bring a LOT of fireworks if Zach is actually put up.

At this point, unless Zach wakes up and rallies tonight or in the morning, I don't see him saving himself, and once he is on the block, he will likely implode and try to expose The Bomb Squad..or at least Devin, and that won't help his case to stay any.  It makes me sad, because I really do love Zach for feed entertainment.  He is probably my favorite so far this year.  I do hate it when they self destruct and give up though.  So we shall see what happens. As always, you guys can follow me @ashes2ashes13 on twitter for more overnight updates.  Until tomorrow night...

The Night Owl - Saturday Night

Veto was played tonight and Devin won.  Anyone surprised? No? Me neither. That's just how things go in the Big Brother house.  Immediately after the veto competition the house got pretty lively.  Devin started scrambling around asking people (Frankie and Caleb if I recall correctly) if he should make a deal with Brittany and pull her off the block instead of Paola, even though he promised the veto to Paola, to appease the rest of his alliance planning on keeping Brittany.  Then he started calling people in his alliance into his room one by one to ask them "between Victoria and Brittany, who would you vote out?"  Derrick then got even more paranoid after realizing people really did want to keep Brittany in the house.  Zach then came into the room and Devin told him that he flat out didn't trust him right now.  Zach asked if they could talk it out, and Devin said no.

Devin then had Brittany summoned to his room to try and make a deal with him.  The conversation started with Devin snapping at Brittany and trying to put her in her place.  Then he went on and on and on and on and on and ON about everything he thought about her..and about himself of course.  He thinks she is paranoid and gaming 24/7 and he is a dad. Blah...Blah... Blah..  For most of the talk Brittany looked like this:

Once Devin got around to the part about possibly using the veto on her, Brittany did tell Devin what he wanted to hear.  She told him she would keep him safe until jury and that she would work with him. She basically told him whatever she thought she needed to in order to try to save her ass.  By the end of the conversation Devin was promising to hang the veto around her neck this week and save her by replacing her with Victoria.  I will personally believe that one when I see it.  Two days is a long time and Devin does a lot of damage every minute that he is awake.  If he does actually use it on Brittany, great! I do however think Brittany has a decent chance of staying in the house even if she remains on the block though.  Derrick, Cody, and Zach are pretty determined to keep her, and Victoria would likely keep her as well provied she isn't on the block.

After the conversation with Brittany, Devin had a conversation with Victoria.  He talked down to her quite a bit.  I know it's shocking to hear that Devin talked down to someone, but it happened.  I didn't pay as much attention to this conversation, but from what I could tell, Devin basically told her nothing, and Victoria cried a lot and then went away mad.

Meanwhile, Zach started what proved to be a long, slow, all night meltdown. He started by freaking out to Frankie in the pantry about Devin not trusting him and saying that the wanted to make it right.  Frankie wasn't a lot of help as Frankie is mostly loyal to Frankie and a little loyal to Christine.  He basically told Zach to keep his mouth shut and to suck it up and lie to Devin and Caleb when he needs to. Brittany then came in followed by Paola who got her head bitten off by Zach because he now knows that she threw the BOB competition for Devin.

Whether it was the being on slop, the Devin thing, or just having a bad day in general, Zach continued to decline and ended up sharing a little too much with his fellow have not Victoria (Devin made Victoria, Zach, Derrick, and Brittany have nots) when she came to bitch about Devin.  They ended up having a long long conversation which I have no doubt Victoria will relay some of the details about if she needs to because she gets nominated.

Finally, at the point when Zach was ready to call a house meeting and blow up the bomb squad, Derrick got a-hold of him and slowly slowly slowly talked him down from his self destruction.  Derrick is proving to be a fascinating character and a really really good game player.  He drops seeds where he needs to and knows exactly how to talk people down and get information out of them.  I know some of that has to do with being a police officer, but I think a lot of it is just him.

While Derrick talked to Zach, he planted seeds with him about the idea of voting out Paola even if Victoria is put up next to her because it would be better for them and worse for Devin to take away somoeone who is throwing competitions for him and voting the way he wants (if she ever got the chance to vote).  He then told Zach they needed to feel out Brittany and see if he could figure out whether she was sincere about her deal they both know she made with Devin.

Devin eventually got Brittany alone out by the hammock and started to pick her brain.  In a truly amazing conversation (imo anyway) Derrick just pulled that deal and conversation Brittany had with Devin right out of her. Instead of outright asking her, he just told her that he knows that she was either offered, or she took a deal with Devin.  Then he told her she could just tell him if he was warm or cold if she wanted to and he word for worded the deal he knew Devin must have made with her.  Brittany admitted it without saying the actual words and Derrick told her not to say anything because that is "information  you take to your grave."   He then told her he would do damage control for her because the other people in the house suspect a deal already and will know she made a deal if he pulls her off the block.  The conversation was really impressive.

At first I didn't know if Derrick was going to tell Cody and Zach about the deal or not...and he still might, but when he played pool with Cody he told Cody he was positive Brittany was going to come off the block, but that he had absolutely no basis or information to back it up with.

Later on, Cody, Derrick, and Zach met at the hammock and talked about how to go against the Bomb Squad without having to call a meeting or expose them openly.  The three of them want to get rid of Devin and Caleb and are hoping to gain power next week so they can backdoor Devin (provided he doesn't play for Veto.)

So that's where things stand as of now. Most of them are asleep and starting to wind down. The Veto meeting probably will not happen until Monday which leaves plenty of time for scrambling and screwing up of deals as well as fireworks from Devin, Brittany, or Zach if he doesn't pull it together.  As always, you guys can follow me @ashes2ashes13 for more overnight updates.  Until tomorrow night...

The Night Owl - weds night

HOUSE MEETING!

I could tell you about all the really unimportant inane things that happened in the house tonight, but I will try to keep those things short and sweet since what you really need to know about is the house meeting called by Devin.

Most of the day and night was pretty mundane and typical with a lot of musings between various groups about what they would do if they won HOH on Thursday.  Joey campaigned a little bit but to no avail.

Zach picked the brain of quite a few of the girls to see who their targets were.  Since his plans are to throw the coming HOH competition, I believe he was trying to insure he is completely safe before throwing the competition.

Caleb continued to obsess about Amber all day and ALMOST all night long...

But then, a mere hour before time for the Have-Nots to have their feast of food, all hell broke loose.  I'm not entirely sure how Devin started talking about a house meeting or how the whole Amber and Caleb thing started coming to a head because I took a momentary feed break.  But when I came back to the feeds, Devin was talking about calling a house meeting because of his guilt, Amber was crying in the bathroom with Paola and Jocasta talking to her about what Devin said about her, and Frankie was explaining to Caleb how Amber had absolutely no idea what has been going on.  He told him that she didn't in fact talk about him and say that he was self centered or any of the things that Devin told Caleb she said about him.

Then Frankie convinced Amber to go and talk to Caleb.  Everything actually went very well. Amber explained that she had no ill will toward Caleb and had no idea that he had been told she was talking about him.  Caleb spilled his guts like an awkward middle schooler and let go of what I think is about a weeks worth of tension.  By the end of the conversation they were laughing and talking about competitions.  I don't know that Caleb will ever actually "get it" that Amber doesn't want to be with him...but I think he at least feels better. Maybe he will talk about something else in between going on about Amber now.

Meanwhile, Devin started by first going to Donny and telling him that he alone was responsible for Donny being put on the block and becoming the target.  He admitted to Donny that Caleb didn't want to put him up, but that he thought Donny wasn't who he said he was.  He cried and told Donny he felt terrible about it because he wanted to be an example for his daughter (bet ya didn't see that one coming).  Donny graciously accepted his apology and told him that there were no hard feelings at all.

Then Devin called a house meeting!

Devin started out by crying immediately.  He told the HGs that he came in the house to be an example for his daughter (omg I know) and play a clean game blah blah blah.  He then told them all that he was the sole reason Donny had been on the block and been a target.  He said through tears that it breaks his heart to think that he thought that about Donny because Donny is the kindest and gentlest man. Donny, Amber, and Caleb were not present at the meeting, but the HGs who were gave Devin a round of applause after his speech.  Then Devin went and hid in the HOH bathroom to sob.

For a good while this is all we saw of Devin:

And while Devin was getting all the tears out, many of the other HGs including Frankie, Zach, Christine, Cody, Derrick, and Victioria were celebrating the fact that he basically just made himself the biggest target in the house and made it easy for them to get rid of him next week provided he doesn't win HOH.

Shortly after all the madness was over and done with, it was time for the have nots to become haves again and feast! And they did.

After the Have Not feast Zach and Frankie relayed to Caleb everything Devin had said to Donny and the things that he said in the house meeting. Caleb agreed that Devin is now a liability to their alliance. And he talked about Amber some.. of course.

Then Frankie, Cody, and Derrick had a conversation in the Hive Room where they re-confirmed that Devin needs to go next if they can get him out.  Their concern of course is who to put him up against in the Battle of the Block competition.  Their plan as of now is to try and get him put up with Paola so that he is crippled in the BOB competition or to put someone up with him that will throw the competition and sit next to him on the block and fight for veto.

Paola, Brittany, Jocasta and Amber also had a long discussion about getting Devin out next. They all seemed to feel he should probably be backdoored.

It was a pretty eventful night and definitely worth some flashbacks if you have the feeds.  Joey is still going home tonight, but the battle for HOH just got a lot more interesting.  If Devin wins HOH this week and his nominees lose Battle of the Block the week will likely just be more trying to get out weaker players, but if anyone else wins, it's likely that Devin will be the target.  And from what we have all seen so far, I don't see him going down quietly or going down without a fight.

I'm excited to see what happens tonight. I feel like the game is really starting now! The strategy talks and competition wins this week/weekend should make things interesting!  That's pretty much it.  Everything else that happened was just run of the mill house stuff.  As always you guys can follow me on twitter @ashes2ashes13 for more overnight feed updates.  Until tomorrow night...

The Night Owl - Monday Night

As expected today/tonight were not terribly eventful.  To my surprise, early in the day, Joey actually did try to campaign a little.  She told only Hayden about her Team America thing, and he later described that to Nicole as "an elaborate lie that he can't even tell because people might believe it."  Then after a few short talks that got her basically nowhere, Joey gave up again and contemplated eating hotdogs and just taking penalty votes since she knows she is going home anyway.  She didn't do it though.

Caleb spent most of his day (I'm sure this will shock you) talking about and thinking about Amber.  I heard very little game talk out of him outside of re-confirming with everyone he talked to that Joey was still going to be voted out.  Then in an act of what looks like rejection depression, he went to sleep before night time.

At some point in the early evening Amber and Christine, who are the two female members of The Bomb Squad, had a conversation on the hammock about how they need to be more proactive and about their true feelings about some of the boys they are in the alliance with.  They both agree they would like to go to final 3 with Frankie, but the other guys need to go.  I'm not sure it was said, but it was definitely implied they would need to go sooner than later.

I'm never quite sure what Nicole and Hayden are talking about when they talk.  I understand the words they are saying, but I just don't get it. They had a conversation for a short time in the hive room where they talked about how they need to spend less time together and Nicole said something about having Christine talk to Hayden for her so that they are not seen together as much.  Then it got all awkward and giggly as it tends to do any time those two start talking.

After leaving the Hive Room, I'm not sure what EXACTLY happened, but there was a lot of crying from various girls in the house.  First Nicole started crying.. Then Victoria.. Then Brittany and Joey started talking about how nice it is to cry and I think Joey might have shed a few tears.  Anyway, it was a big cry fest for a little while there.

Meanwhile in the other room, Zach, Frankie, and Christine talked about how silly it was that people were already crying after a week.  They talked about having a hard time sympathizing with the criers because they are so happy to be in the game, and made a couple good cracks about them.

Then, suddenly in the crying side of the house a prayer circle was held...

At some point during the night Frankie and Zach reconvened to talk once again about how everyone had to go starting with the girls and ending with the powerhouse guys etc..  They have a lot of plans, but the problem is they are getting really far ahead of themselves.  Frankie is playing so well socially that he will likely survive his current impulsiveness, but I'm not sure if Zach will survive. That makes me a little sad because as far as feed entertainment go, he has me sold.

Very late in the evening/early in the morning Caleb woke up and had a long hot tub convo with Devin.  I would call the conversation pure comedy.  Caleb was down about the Amber thing so Devin started giving him a pep talk, singing him songs, and professing his bro love for him.  I don't know why Caleb feels like he needs Amber when clearly Devin is in love with him.  The conversation is worth a flashback just for the humor if you can stand to listen to Devin.

Later on Frankie more clearly tried to explain to Caleb that Amber wasn't the one.  He also said he now considers her a liability in their alliance.  They spent a lot of time talking about whether they think Devin is shady or not and going over things like who else they want in their alliance (lol what?).  Caleb says he wants to take Hayden to the end now.  Both of them sound like they are going to move towards kind of shutting Amber out of the alliance.  The second week model curse may happen again this season after all.

As far as the rest of the night goes, everything was typical.  There was pool playing and cooking and eating and joking around.  Plans were made for a prom that is supposedly happening tomorrow night.  I'm still unclear on who is actually taking who to said prom or how it will work as they have no music etc.. Nothing really out of the ordinary happened. I'm still waiting for the first eviction when things should start to get more intense.  As of now, Joey, the first member of Team America, is still set to be the one going home on Thursday.  Barring some crazy production intervention I don't see that changing.  As always you guys can follow me @ashes2ashes13 on twitter for more overnight feed updates.  Until tomorrow night...
