The Night Owl - Weds Night

Well tomorrow is the big eviction day, and for the first time in a really long time, I can honestly say I'm not totally sure where the vote lies.  I Think I have a general idea, but that could all change in the next few hours since these people flip flop like no other cast I've ever seen before.

I left off Yesterday morning with Brittany and Jocasta walking around sulking and fuming after what Devin told them and everyone else scrambling to figure out how to cover their asses.  When I woke up today Brittany had been working her ass off to get everyone not in the Bomb Squad to understand how much of an outsider they are.  She told the stories and her theories over and over and over.  I'm fairly certain she caught something up in Devin's room because she just could not stop talking today. But ultimately at the end of the day, she and Jocasta were the only ones really into what she was selling about "the outsiders".

Most other people not in the BS knew about the BS already on some level and knew that it had pretty much split and that none of them were really sticking together as an 8 person alliance.  So most people like Nicole, Hayden, and Victoria just heard her out and then went and told people like Christine and Devin about Brittany's attempts at an uprising.  I commend her for playing the game and trying to rally people, but I think she lost a lot of credit with people for the way she went about it. She basically embodied a female Devin for a while and told everyone how "The good people need to win" And "A parent should win Big Brother" and my favorite "I don't know what low lifes with no kids like Zach are even doing here. The money means so much more to us parents."

Donny is the only person that I really have NO read on the standing of.  Supposedly he is Team America with Derrick all the way, but he supposedly is also now with Jocasta and Brittany.  His vote tomorrow will likely go to keeping Paola as a sympathy vote for his friend, but it speaks volumes of his poker face that I have no idea where he really stands on things.  He is a smart guy.

Jocasta is also, as of now anyway, voting to keep Paola in the house. She is still stuck on it being her duty to Paola to vote against the "violent woman hater".  But really, more than anything today, Jocasta just talked about how much she needs to "poo poo".  Apparently that's her biggest issue right now.

Early in the night the HGs got a practice HOH game in the backyard.  It's some kind of golf/croquet type of game where they will likely be trying to hit a ball at targets that get them points or something.

During the end of the practice session Zach talked to Brittany and she told him that she didn't know who to trust, but that no matter what she was voting Paola out and keeping him.  After everyone came back inside and the lockdown continued, Cody, and Derrick tried to clear the air wtih Brittany and Jocasta for a while..or cover their asses at least.  Brittany believed some of it but not all of it and Jocasta, from what I could tell, believed none of it....though most of what they said was true.

A lot of the former/remaining members of the BS have been worried about becoming huge targets today and have been trying to get the focus more on Caleb, Devin, and Amber since most of them want those 3 gone also. So, while Derrick, Cody, Jocasta, and Brittany were talking in the Hive Room, Zach decided to pull Amber into the pantry and set her off by telling her he had heard that a lot of people were mad at her/after her since she has been working with Caleb from day one.

It worked. Amber immediately busted into the Hive Room to announce that she has NO alliance and that she is on her own playing her own game and that Caleb in an alliance with her.  Then she went and did the same thing in the bathroom.  Brittany felt like the comment was aimed at her and asked Amber that, and Amber started crying.  Caleb didn't want to see "his princess" upset, so he went and basically said the same thing Amber said except in a very forceful and Caleb like way to the Hive Room crew.  When he mentioned that things could be misconstrued...like Jocasta and Cody sitting together could be thought of as a showmance, Jocasta decided she had had it.  She first argued with Caleb. Something about "Not when my husband isn't here so I can defind it" or something like that..  And then SHE too ran off crying.

Caleb then went to the bathroom where Pao, Zach, and Donny were sitting and went off to them about the Amber thing and about Jocasta.  They convinced him maybe he should apologize to Jocasta. He did, and within 5 minutes the whole thing was over. BUT, it did put an even larger target on Amber when she started acting so erratically.

While Amber sat around telling people how she thought it was stupid to let the game get in the way of friends because friends are more important to her (she still doesn't know she is on Big Brother), Christine made her rounds with Zach, Frankie, Nicole, Hayden etc..  To make sure everything was basically covered.  Zach and Christine also took a moment to form the "We Hate Devin" club after discussing what Zach had done to set Amber off.

There was more scrambling around and chatter, but as of NOW, I think this is where the vote stands: Pro Zach: Cody, Derrick, Caleb, Christine, Nicole, Victoria, Amber, Hayden, Brittany, and Possibly Frankie.  Pro Pao: Jocasta, Donny.

But these people cannot seem to hold their crazy in for any length of time, so during the time the feeds are down tomorrow before the show, all of that could change.  I'm calling it an early night because most of them have either gone to bed or are headed that way.  There is just some chatter now about what they will do if they win HOH.  Derrick has been talking with Zach, Cody, and Hayden about either putting up Brittany because of the way she is acting, or possibly putting someone like Devin on one HOH's Noms and Amber on the other so that when one of them is on the block no matter what, and if that one wins veto and comes off, Caleb goes up.  There are lots of plans being tossed around and most of them involved getting rid of Devin or Caleb, but it all depends on who gets HOH and this one is really a crapshoot.  As always you guys can follow me @ashes2ashes13 for more overnight updates. Until tomorrow night...

The Day Timer - Devin goes crazy

If you like chaos, then today's your day. Devin made more promises than he could keep as HOH this week, and winning Power of Veto has proven to be a case of too much responsibility. Here's a quick summary of events leading up to today's POV ceremony:

As HOH, Devin targeted Brittany and put Paola up as a pawn ... and then he promised Paola that if she'd throw the Battle of the Block comp and he won POV, he would save her. But Devin had promised all Bomb Squad alliance members (including Zach) to keep them safe, too. When, in essence, Zach wouldn't pledge his allegiance to Devin, despite Derrick's encouragement to do so, Devin got pissed. (It was actually way more convoluted than that ... but an African tsetse fly has more short term memory than I.)

So Devin concocted a reason to save Brittany: Like Devin's mom, she's a single parent, so he doesn't want to be responsible for her eviction. At Monday afternoon's POV ceremony, Devin saved Brittany and put Zach on the block -- breaking multiple promises at once.

Zach responded by outing the Bomb Squad alliance to Hayden in Derrick's presence, and now just about everybody's in damage control.

What new alliances will emerge from the chaos? At Thursday's eviction vote, will we finally be treated to a split decision? Will Paola or Zach be the next one out? Did Devin's eccentric behavior seal his fate for the following week? Share your thoughts at @uselesstraffic or right here in the comments.

Battle of the Block loss + POV loss = HOH elimination?

Here's exactly how an HOH could find him/herself evicted in the same week this year.

The big twists for #BB16, as you now know, include two Heads of Household (HOH) competitions and then two sets of two eviction nominees. Frankie and Caleb each won HOH (as CBS aired on the Wednesday and Thursday shows, respectively). As live feeders later learned, Frankie put Brittany and Victoria on the block, and then Caleb nominated Donny and Paola.

A new-for-#BB16 competition called the Battle of the Block took place entirely before the feeds went live for the first time this season. The Battle is between the two pairs of nominees. The winning pair is removed from the block (no longer up for eviction), and the HOH who nominated the losing pair is dethroned.

Not that they'd have shown the Battle itself on the live feeds, necessarily; CBS plans to air it during Sunday episodes. But live feeders figured out overnight from house guest conversations that Brittany and Victoria won the first-ever Battle of the Block competition. That means four things:

  • Brittany and Victoria are safe from eviction this week.
  • Since Frankie's nominees won the comp, Frankie is no longer HOH.
  • Caleb is the reigning HOH until Thursday, so he's safe from eviction too.
  • Donny or Paola might be evicted -- unless the Power of Veto competition changes a nominee.

Power of Veto (POV) competitions always include the HOH, the nominees, and for most of the season, additional house guests who get into the comp based on a random drawing of chips.

This season's first POV competitors will include Caleb (HOH) plus Donny and Paola (the nominees who are still on the block) and those whose names were drawn ... which are Victoria, Cody, and Zach.

Frankie was dethroned as HOH and was not selected for the POV comp, so he has no control over his destiny this week.

If Donny or Paola wins POV, obviously he or she will save him/herself. If Victoria, Cody, or Zach wins, one of them could also choose to save either Donny or Paola. Then HOH Caleb will have to nominate somebody new.

Since Frankie isn't even competing for POV, he's not safe and could be nominated. And that, newbies, is how a house guest can go from HOH to eviction all within the same week. Twisted, eh?

Who is most likely to win POV? Do you think Caleb would put Frankie on the block in a potentially history-making move? Who is most likely to be the first one evicted? Hit me up at @uselesstraffic or share your thoughts in the comments below.

Big Brother 16 Cheat Sheet - Feeds Reveal All

We are just past the two hour mark of the live feeds and already we know almost everthing we could want.  Alliances are still being figured out but thats about it.  Here are the highlights of things we've come up with so far from listening to the house guests talk.....

  • Caleb apparently had to choose from the 1st 8 HGs for nominations - he picked Donny and Paola - the first guy and girl eliminated from their HoH competition.
  • Frankie apparently had to pick from the 2nd 8 HGs and chose the 1st two people eliminated from the 2nd HoH competition - Victoria and Brittany.
  • It seems that Brittany and Victoria defeated Donny and Paola in the first Battle of the Block competition so they were un-nominated and Frankie was dethroned as HoH.
  • There was a Have Not competition (I think) today and Hayden, Joey, Brittany and Cody are Have Nots.
  • Power of Veto Competition is tomorrow.  Caleb, Donny, Paola, Victoria, Cody, and Zach are participating.
  • There is a showmance between Hayden and Nicole.
  • Caleb has a BIG crush on Amber.
  • Zach and Frankie seem to have a pretty solid alliance and are working to set up side alliances.
  • The HGs sound like the entered the house either last Thursday or Friday.  I am currently assuming Thursday based on what they said and an outside source that heard that was the correct day.
