Tonights Eviction, new HoH and why POV matters more.

Just a quick blurb to let you all know whats up since the feeds have been off for just over 24 hours now.

From the traffic out there on the world wide interwebs it seems the strongest rumors have it that the show that was recorded yesterday was mostly a 'private' affair with a very select audience of people tied closely to the show (or friends of people tied closely to the show).

That of course hasn't stopped at least two different 'sources' from revealing what went on yesterday and that's enough for me to post this as semi "fact" - if this proves wrong you can take away my journalism degree and burn it.

The word 'on the street' is that Judd was indeed evicted (the easy part to guess) and that Andy was the winner of the second to last HoH competition.  I'll leave the details at that because that's as much info as both sources confirmed.

Of course as I and others have said over and over the last few days, all Head of Household means this time is that you have made the final three.  The real power will be the Power of Veto winner which is most likely being played today (and we will figure out who won it when the feeds return around 9pm BB time tonight).  The POV winner will get to pick which two HGs are nominated and, unless it the POV winner is the HoH (as Danielle was last season) will also get to vote out one of the nominees with the only vote of the 'week.'

As an example, lets assume Andy is HoH.  He will have nominated two people (it really doesn't matter who though).  Lets say he nominates GinaMarie and McCrae (since Spencer kept him safe last week).

All four HGs will compete for the POV.  If, say, McCrae wins it, he would of course save himself (in the above scenario) and by default Andy would have to put Spencer on the block in his place.  Then McCrae would be the only non-nominated person and thus cast the only vote to evict.

Make sense?  That's why this time around the POV is more important that the HoH.  The one kink in this 'week' is if the HoH also wins the POV - in that case they get to decide the final 2 noms, but also are stuck with whomever the non-nominee decides to vote out.  An excellent example of this happened last season when Danielle won both HoH AND POV.  She initially nominated Dan and Ian.  Dan convinced her to play the POV and save him, thinking he would vote out Ian.  Instead Dan voted out her 'showmance' Shane and her jaw dropped for the millionth time.

The Night Owl

A lot lot LOT of game talking went on tonight.  I think we are basically back where we started with Candice going home, but that didn't stop a lot of plans and freak-outs from happening.

When I first turned on the feeds tonight, Amanda was telling Aaryn about how she would like to win HOH this coming week and put up Helen and Jessie with the option of backdooring Judd OR possibly just sending Helen home.

While Amanda was having this talk with Aaryn, Jessie, Helen, and Elissa were plotting a way to get the votes to keep Candice and take Amanda out while they had the chance and she was on the block.  They discussed how it would have to work, and came to the conclusion that they needed to first pull Andy's vote and then Judd's.  Helen having no idea that Andy is much more loyal to Amanda than her, decided to go ahead and pull him into the storage room to talk to him about it.  Andy of course immediately said "no no NO!!" to the idea of voting out Amanda.  He told Helen he didn't feel comfortable with doing it this week.  Helen told Andy that she had heard that Amanda had plans to get her out the next week.  I'm not sure if she had really heard that or not, but if she was lying, it was a good one since it's actually kind of true.  Andy told her he had never heard anything from Amanda about wanting Helen out, and they needed to stay solid.  While they were talking, Aaryn was listening outside of the door to the storage room and then entered in the middle of the conversation.  She asked what they were talking about and they lied and said they were trying to figure out how they were going to tell Candice that she was going home.

Knowing that what she heard was a lie, Aaryn pulled Amanda into the have-not room to tell her everything she had heard.  Andy was not far behind Aaryn to come and spill what Helen had been saying to him.  He gave Amanda a much lighter version of what had been said and told her to NOT freak out or let anyone know that she knew what was going on.  They discussed making some deals or new alliances that might make Helen trust Amanda more and not want her out, then Andy left.  Aaryn continued telling Amanda that she was pretty sure that people were going to vote her out this week because she was certain that Jessie and Helen were going to be able to pull Judd's vote.

At the moment Aaryn was saying this, Helen was telling Judd about the plan in the storage room and trying to get his thoughts on it.  Like Andy, Judd said no, and that it was not a good idea for their game this week to turn on Amanda and get people after them in favor of keeping Candice who he had never talked any game with.

Although Amanda had been told by Andy to tell no one and not to freak out, she was apparently incapable of holding her tongue, and immediately ran outside to where Helen and Elissa were sitting and started crying to them saying "I just have a feeling there is a plan to get me out and something is going wrong this week.".  They assured her that this was not the case and that she was totally safe because they were all voting to evict Candice.

Meanwhile, Aaryn pulled Judd into the have-not room to ask him a bunch of questions about who he was going to vote out and if he was the MVP.  She aked her questions in a way that very much tipped off Judd that Amanda and the rest of his alliance may not trust him anymore.  He reassured Aaryn that he had no intentions of keeping Candice, and was definitely going to keep Amanda.

Because Amanda freaked out and tipped off Helen and Elissa that she knew something was going on, Andy had to pull Helen into the HOH room to do some damage control.  They discussed Amanda just being paranoid and it not being a good idea to get her out this week.  They then pulled Jessie into the HOH room to tell her that it wasn't going to happen.  Jessie told them that she did not feel secure keeping Amanda, but she did not push the issue since the votes were not there.  At the end of this conversation both Aaryn and GinaMarie entered the HOH room.

After Andy, Helen, and Jessie left, Aaryn began telling GinaMarie that she was sure that Amanda was getting voted out insted of Candice.  She said she was positive that Elissa, Jessie, and Helen were going to be able to convince Judd or Andy to vote with them.  GinaMarie said that she would just have to put up someone who was going to keep Candice as the replacement nom instead of Spencer.

GinaMarie then began holding meetings in the HOH room, starting with Judd.  She kind of threatened him about his vote and insinuated that she may put him up if he didn't agree to vote the way she wante dhim to.  Judd was completely confused as to who might be saying that he wasn't voting out Candice, and went on to convince GM that there would be no perks to him keeping Candice and that he definitely would not vote out Amanda.  At the end of the meeting GM told him he was 120% safe, but the meeting was of course enough to set off Judd's paranoia.

After a few more meetings in the HOH room, GinaMarie was convinced that they still had the votes to get Candice out and decided to go back to her plan of nominating Spencer when Jessie pulls herself off the block. Meanwhile downstairs, Aaryn was telling McCrae and Andy how she needed GinaMarie gone sooner than later since she was freaking out and had the worst case of HOH-itis Aaryn had ever seen.

For a little while, there was a lull in game talk since Amanda was convinced that she was okay and that they had the votes, and Helen had stopped trying to push for a vote to get Amanda out.

During the lull dinner was cooked and served, and alcohol was delivered.  Amanda decided she did not feel up to having her bachelorette party tonight, so the alcohol was distributed between the regular drinkers (Judd, McCrae, Aaryn, and Elissa).

The lull did not last long.  Aaryn started telling Amanda some things Jessie had said about getting she and Helen out last week when Aaryn was HOH, and that set Amanda off all over again.  Adding to her paranoia was the fact that Jessie and Elissa were in fact down in the cockpit room trying to figure out a way to get her voted out.  Elissa's brain is still stuck on not voting out Candice and so she and Jessie have set their minds to trying to find the votes.  Judd, Andy, and Candice at different moments in time tried to come into the cockpit, but in her awkward and very obvious Elissa way, she ran them all off one by one causing each one of them to run up to the HOH where Amanda was having her freak out so that they could report what they had seen.

Helen, Amanda, Aaryn, GinaMarie, and Andy all tried to talk over each other in the HOH room for quite a while, but they were all basically saying the same thing.  It doesn't matter what Elissa or Jessie does, because they have all the votes they need and are not going to be swayed.

Eventually after being convinced once again that she was alright, Amanda decided she was okay and went outside to talk to McCrae leaving Judd to talk to Helen and GM about whether he made a stupid mistake by letting Jessie keep the veto.

As Judd's aggrivation with Jessie has grown this week, he has stopped sleeping in her bed and tonight was planning to sleep in GinaMarie's old bed and let Aaryn sleep there as well.  Andy was planning to sleep with Jessie.  Aaryn has been gradually (or not so gradually or subtly) putting the moves on Judd as he distances himself from Jessie.  This became an issue tonight when Elissa found out where Aaryn was sleeping.  Elissa told Jessie, and Jessie told Judd that she missed sleeping with him and wanted him to come back to her bed.  Elissa then threw out "I dunno Jessie, I have a feeling a new sleeping situation is happening tonight"  In her passive aggressive Elissa way.  For a while this made things awkward and Judd talked to Amanda, McCrae, and Andy about it, but it actually led to a VERY interesting conversation.

At the height of all the weirdness with the bed situation, Jessie got Judd to come talk to her in the room where they normally sleep.  She laid out the entire game as she sees it right now.  She talked about how she knows that Amanda and McCrae have been controlling who does and doesn't go home from the very beginning. She told him how Helen knows that Andy is more loyal to them after tonight. She explained how Aaryn is also completely loyal to them and GinaMarie does whatever Aaryn tells her to.  She broke down for him what would happen if he voted with Helen, Elissa, and herself to evict Amanda.  She said McCrae would be after she and Helen more than anyone and would likely have to stick with Judd just to have someone unless he just wanted to stick with Aaryn.  She told him Andy would likely become completely loyal to Helen once he no longer had Amanda because he would have no choice.  She finished it by explaining that she knows that if Candice goes this week, she will go next week, and after that it will be Elissa, and then he or Helen going home.  She had a lot of valid points.   When she was done telling him how she saw things, she told him to just think about it and not decide what to do right away.  Judd told her he would think about it and that he definitely saw what she was saying.  Surprisingly, he did not tell Amanda and McCrae about this plan to get Amanda out...

When Judd did not tell Amanda and McCrae about his conversation with Jessie, I thought he was possibly considering what she said, and maybe he is a little bit since he did make out with Jessie for a while (stop that! NO MORE SHOWMANCES!!), but a little later, he did start to tell Andy that Jessie wants Amanda out, but that he did not want to tell Amanda because it would cause her to freak out, so my gut feeling is that he is not even going to take it into consideration.

At this point I still feel like Candice is leaving even though we have a few more days and a bachelorette party to get through before that happens.  I expect to see Spencer put on the block in Jessie's place later today.  Hopefully the scrambling will keep on coming.  At least it isn't boring.  As always you guys can follow me on twitter @ashes2ashes13 for more overnight feed updates.  Until tomorrow night..

The Night Owl

It's been a busy 24 hours in the Big Brother house.  When I first turned on the feeds early in the day on Thursday, everyone was all atwitter about the MVP nomination.  Elissa had chosen David and his mane of blonde to sit in the third nomination chair.  She revealed to McCrae that she actually was the MVP which otherwise would have remained secret from the HGs leaving her nomination anonymous.  McCrae told Amanda and the news flew like wildfire from there.  Lots of the HGS, the girls especially, started talking about and getting worked up about all the things Elissa has done in the house, including lying about who her sister was and having confrontations with many of the other girls.  This eventually led to a confrontation between Elissa and Jeremy, and at some point left Elissa sort of fake crying and duckfacing reminiscent of another member of her family.

There was lots of talking among the girls and a few of the guys about getting Elissa out this week.  Their plan was to hopefully have David throw the veto comp so that whoever won could pull off one of the original nominations and have McCrae put Elissa up so that they could vote her out.  Most of them made it clear to McCrae what they wanted and really put the pressure on.  At one point, Amanda even tried to convince Elissa that maybe she should just quit.

However, McCrae and Helen, as well as a few other members of his alliance had other ideas.  He fully intended to put Elissa up if the situation arose to do so, but the plan among his alliance is to vote out David anyway unbeknownst to the girls and few guys who want her gone.  Helen seems to be one of the main supporters of this idea along with Andy, Nick, and Judd.

The veto was played and McCrae was once again victorious.  At this point I think he may be hurting his game a little to be winning so much so fast.  I'm rooting for the kid, but he may find himself forced to win in order to stay in the house soon if the rest of the HGs start to see him as a huge threat.  Immediately after the competition, Nick and McCrae went up to the HOH room to discuss what the best move would be since he was now in power of the veto.  They eventually came to the agreement that it would be better to take down Candice and put Elissa up, but to make sure that David and all his crazy tresses were voted out anyway to the shock of all those that vote for Elissa to leave.

Nick and McCrae are two of my very favorites, but I have to say my hopes were shattered when it turned out to be THEM rather than production trying to keep the other Reilly in the house.  I understand their reasoning though. Keeping Elissa in the house does leave someone in with a large target on her back.  It also gets out David who is in a showmance alliance with Jeremy, Jessie, and Aaryn.  Between David and Elissa, David is most likely the bigger threat to McCrae, Nick, Judd, Andy, Amanda, Spencer, Howard, and Helen (the group planning to keep Elissa) as Elissa has no real alliance.  Nick continued to talk to David at different timed of the night discussing surfing and skateboarding and reassuring David that he of course is safe since Elissa is the target (and the Oscar goes to..).

David seems to be none the wiser and trust that he is going to be okay.  He did have some awkward tiffs with Aaryn earlier in the day, but for the most part those were about him chatting with Elissa and he really doesn't seem to be all that concerned.

After all the veto game talk, everything calmed down and went back to normal. Jessie returned to obsessing about why Nick sleeps with GinaMarie now instead of her and wondering if he is gay since he is not giving her attention.  Last night she was traumatized that Jeremy was more into Kaitlin, but since Kaitlina and Jeremy are spending more time together, she had now returned to her former choice of unreciprocated interest.  She decided to take a bubble bath with Aaryn to discuss this with Amanda also present to explain the things too difficult for her to understand.

Speaking of Amanda, I have NO idea where this girls head is at.  She seems to be into everyone's business at all times, and she talks to everyone about everyone else.  Each time she talks to everyone she seems to be completely on that person's side.  I really want to like this girl, but I think she is making herself into a HUGE target by doing so much talking.  The one person I think she really IS loyal to right now is McCrae, but he is HOH, so there is no telling where she will go when the power shifts.

I am really starting to enjoy Andy tonight.  As far as alliances, he seems to be in pretty tight with McCrae and possibly Nick, and his humor has really started to stand out.  I think his intelligent quick wit is going to be great entertainment if he is able to stick around.  Unfortunately, he is another that is on board with keeping the Reilly beast in the house, but I can live with those shortcomings for now I suppose, and again, I understand why as players they are doing it. Also, I'm not completely convinced that Andy is keeping Elissa.  He tells a different story depending on who he is talking to, and he is very good at it, and very good at being casual about it.  I think his vote could easily still be up in the air and no one is really the wiser about it.

I haven't seen much of Candice or Kaitlin tonight other than some laying around in the room that used to be "the lounge" among other names (I don't think they have named the rooms yet this year), with each other and Jeremy and Judd.  They mostly just talked about areas where they feel fat and boring things of that nature.  There was a little Elissa bashing here and there, but nothing out of the norm. At some point there was a giant game of chess, but this broke up pretty quickly.

Spencer and Howard seem to be very close, and had some conversatoins over the night about the positives and negatives of keeping Elissa around, but I am not sure what conclusion (if any) they actually came to.  I am fairly certain they are still leaning on the side of keeping Elissa though.

After a while the game talk seemed to die off almost completely and everything just turned to nonsense conversations about everything from sports to what sounds a starfish can make.  Gina Marie rubbed her crotch on a few people (not kidding).  Amanda played "milk the cow" using her own boobs as udders.  There was a long discussion about who farts when they pee, and other random silliness.

Right now the plan seems to be to nominate Elissa and then blindside David, but we all know this is subject to change.  There are a lot of things (including production) to take into consideration, and days in the BB house always bring quite a few flip flops anyway.  I'm personally hoping the "keep Elissa" plan goes south and she walks, but I am seriously doubting that will even be allowed to happen.  We shall have to wait and see though.  Until then, it's all up to what our long haired HOH decides to do when the POV ceremony is held.

Oh, this also happened and I have no really good explanation for it:

What do you all think of the season so far? Who are your favorites?  I think we are off to a pretty good start. I cannot stress ENOUGH how much I am enjoying this cast of new kids vs the old rehashed HGs.  Until tomorrow night...

POV Results

Details are scarce, but McCrae won the veto, and Elissa is not happy (as she shouldn't be). The rest of the house is jumping for joy, though. Apparently, the comp involved honey; lots of honey, along with spelling, and they're all covered with it.

Now they have booze.

Power of Veto Meeting - Epic? Does Dan have the votes?

Dan is up and waiting for the Power of Veto meeting which will start sometime around 11am BB time.

We assume since Ian won his POV first that he will be given the chance to use it first.  He doesn't plan to use it.  Then Jenn will go and is planning to use it to save Dan and Frank will put Britney up in his place.

Are you going - wait - what?  Then you need to read Ash's recap of last night's craziness.  Go here to read it.

Once that is over we hope the feeds will come back quickly - usually they are back by 12pm BB time.

Britney may be in full meltdown mode or she may still be processing things.

I've speculated on the next part all morning.  Whats going to happen with the voting?

It is all well and good that Dan will most likely now be safe but for his plan to work 100% he wants to see Britney evicted on Thursday.  There are five people voting and only 2 for sure will be voting out Britney.

Dan and Jenn will of course vote out Britney as they have now formed an alliance with her and Frank.

But what of the other three votes?  Shane, Ian and Joe?

Since the plan by Jenn and Frank is to somewhat call out Ian when the POV is used (Frank is going to tell Britney to 'pop a squat'), I'd have to assume that he will be solidly in Britney's corner.

Will Joe and or Shane try to join a four person  alliance and vote out Britney?

If they do the math - like I have been - they'd be better to vote out Danielle - forcing Dan, Jenn and Frank into a three person alliance vs the other four and Frank can't play for HoH for 2 weeks.  Ian, and Shane have both won HoH and Britney has been close.  What have Dan and Jenn done?

It just depends on the way things play out from this afternoon to Wednesday night.  As of right now I could see it going either way.  As much as I wanted all the coaches out - I'd rather see Britney stay this week and have Danielle sent to the Jury House to spend some quality time with Ashley.

Your thoughts?  Do you think Joe will scurry over to Frank and Dan and be their third vote?  Will the Nomance resume and we'll see Shane vote out his own coach?

Its gonna be interesting.

POV...Still In Progress

So I was waiting for the veto comp to end before writing an update...which, of course, will mean that it will end in the next couple of minutes. It's been going on for hours, and there's a controversy that has twitter up in arms.

The feeds came back for a few minutes before the comp, and Frank was seen explaining how he had "palmed" one of the veto chips. Having replayed the footage a few times, the explanation seems pretty simple. Boogie had pulled one of the two "Houseguest Choice" chips, and selected Ian. Frank then pulled Ian's chip, which obviously needed to be redone. He reached in again, and this time pulled the second "Houseguest Choice" chip.

I'm assuming that in the confusion over having pulled Ian's chip, CBS wasn't happy with the footage they had of Frank's official grab. They asked for a retake, and he had to "palm" the chip to ensure a correct take two. I don't doubt that second takes happen quite often for the ceremonial, scripted footage they use, such as the various meetings and voice overs. We have even heard glimpses of production conversing with the cast in the past after endurance competitions. Imagine, though, how many takes they need for Shane to read the "as Head Of Household, one of my duties..." script.

Oh, btw, the players besides Shane, Frank, and Boogie are Ian, Jenn, and Ashley. I wouldn't count on any of those three to use it if they win since it could mean one of the other "outsiders" goes up.

We will be talking about this issue, and so much more, tonight on The Big Brother Gossip Show. It will be available in the usual online spots shortly after we're finished recording, but you can also listen live at http://ustream.tv/channel/paulisded. Join us at 10 pm EST, 9 pm for those living in the correct Central time zone! :)

Power of Veto Results

A real quickie here!

Danielle won the POV in what has become an annual BB tradition (that I hate) of the 'secret santa' or 'white elephant' game where they HGs compete for an order to pick 'gifts' or 'prizes' and pretty much the last person to go can take the POV or if he or she is ok with who has it, can pick a nice gift.  A couple penalty gifts are usually tossed in each season one involving some type of solitary confinement and another involving a 'tard' - as in Unitard.

Here is who ended up with what - first note that Boogie didn't get picked to play so Danielle's fears that he would and that he would win and save Frank were all for naught (darn it!):

POV Winner: Danielle

Veto Pass Card: Shane (I think he gets to play in the next POV no matter what.

$5,000: Wil

Trip to Hawaii: Jenn

Dress like and be treated like a dog for 24 hours: Ian

Spirit tard until next Thursday: Frank.

Here are Frank and Ian:

And Then There Were Four - Taped Eviction Show Results

Greetings one and all - unless you ONLY come to Big Brother Gossip for your Big Brother news you most likely already know that the word on the street is Kalia was indeed voted out on tonight's taped eviction show and Adam won the HoH competition beating out Jordan by one question.  The news was broadcast to the twitter universe as I expect it would be and I trust the source I am quoting (MissCleoBB13).

Here are a few other tidbits from that source and one other.......

  • Kalia apparently told Adam to start playing like an all star and not a fan in her eviction speech <POW!>
  • Adam was 6 for 6 in the questions - Jordan 5 for 6.  The questions were indeed based on the Fortune Tellers quotes.
  • Julie wore a "leopard one piece dress" on the show.
  • Shelly entering the Jury House was shown and things were very uncomfortable.
  • Rachel left a nasty goodbye message to Kalia and her jaw dropped. She called her a cow. Kalia was not happy.

Now that we know Adam has won, the question is, what will he do?

His nominations really mean nothing as the real holder of power this "week" (ok its only 2 days) is the Power of Veto winner who will both get to decide who is nominated and cast the one vote to evict (Unless Adam also wins the POV).

In all likelyhood I THINK Porsche needs to win the POV to stay - but some feel if he wins it, Adam will want Rachel evicted.  Adam has been closer to Porsche than Rachel but I don't think he wants the blood on his hands and so may either throw the POV competition or if he wins it he might evict Porsche by letting Jordan or Rachel cast the vote to evict.

The feeds have been off since 2pm and at the very least will stay off until after the show airs on Wednesday - when they return we may find out who the POV winner is - unless it hasn't been played yet.

Power of Veto Competition - OTEV Returns.

Saturday we had the Power of Veto competition, Kalia and Porsche were nominated for eviction by Rachel and both would of course want to win it to ensure them safety.

While we haven't seen the POV competition and won't until Wednesday's show, we know what it was and we know who won.

The competition was the same one that has been done for several seasons involving the 'god' or 'idol' OTEV (veto backwards). Below is the OTEV competition from last season.  Notice it is a very physical competition

This time the house guests have described finding things in pies - or perhaps in one big pie.

Adam ended up winning the POV and it sounds like Porsche was second.

As of now Adam has no plans to use the POV which if he did would force Rachel to put up Jordan in the place of whomever he saved.

Kalia has been campaigning VERY hard to stay already but I don't think it will work.  Adam probably can't win against Jordan or Rachel but he seems to have convinced himself that that is the best route for him to take.

One of us will make another post soon about the upcoming week - with only 4 shows left (including tonight's), Big Brother has to pick up the pace - we will see an eviction on both Wednesday and Thursday's shows.

No Shocker Here

After an hour of trivia on the feeds, the human beings finally appeared back on the little screen after having had the Power of Veto ceremony. It's no surprise that Rachel used the POV on herself and Jordan so Shelly and Adam are now up on the block.

With that business out of the way, I have a question for you fine folks. Would it be better for Jordan and/or Rachel if Adam was evicted this week? Or what about Shelly? I know that emotionally they might want Shelly to go next but Adam is really almost as useless as Shelly is.

And then what about Kalia and/or Porsche? Would it be better for them if Adam went home first or if Shelly were the next to go?

Tell me all about what you think would be best for them in the comments! Can't wait to read what you have to say!
