Big Brother Season 16, Episode 25 Recap

Tonight marks the beginning of the end for a fan favorite. But is it really the end? Will this person be resurrected within the same hour as his departure?

I’m getting ahead of myself here, though. Tonight’s episode will follow the typical Wednesday template of BOB reactions, veto comp, and veto ceremony. Oh yeah, and a lot of filler.

At least the veto competition will be interesting tonight, as it’s the beloved Zingbot. Besides that cheap ass robot’s “zings”, Kathy Griffin will be entering the house to add a bit of her own snark. This should be fun.

We begin the festivities to the reactions to Donny and Christine’s shocking Battle of the Block win. The one that Donny singlehandedly won. The one that Beastmode and cocky Caleb were complete failures, even with the assistance of that turncoat Christine. In other words, one of my highlights of the season!

Donny starts off the show shirtless, thanking Jesus to the camera. He is “tickled” to win, but he’s hurt that his suspicions about Christine were proven in the competition. “It’s an awful pain. I’ve been nothing but nice to these people, and I’m sure they were all in on it.”

In the bathroom, Christine is talking to Cody and Derrick about their failure. Cody asks if the two of them split up, and concludes he and Caleb should have done the same. She also knows that Donny now has them figured out. She adds in the diary room that she was so convinced he was going to fail that she didn’t even really hide her sabotage. “He knows that I did that on purpose.” Derrick adds more of the obvious, including the fact that this is the first time things haven’t gone his way. Caleb concludes the segment by saying that Victoria now has to go up.

We move to the kitchen, and Zach and Frankie are cleaning. Frankie says in the diary room that this is awful situation to have two of his allies up, and he now needs to win the veto…”and put up a new target”. He hints that the person may indeed be Zach.

Derrick then congratulates Donny, and says “as long as he doesn’t put me up, we’re good for the week”. He says that Victoria is the one that Frankie will probably put out, which he explains is to make Donny feel like Derrick wasn’t involved. Donny doesn’t seem impressed, and sits down in silence on the bed. “People think I’m a country bumpkin”, he says in the diary room, “but I’m very aware of what’s going on. Derrick has blown smoke up everybody’s tail this whole season. When he tells me he figured I could pull this one out, I knew he was blowing smoke.”  Derrick leaves the room, and Donny gives a little look to the camera. Oh wait, here comes Derrick back.

Derrick then throws out a bunch of his cliches in the diary room, including “if you’re not with me, you’re against me. WIth this veto coming up, he could potentially throw a monkey wrench in our plan.”

He heads into the diary room to tell Frankie what just happened, including Donny’s “mocking” look at the camera that he saw when he walked back in. They both talk a little tough, but they’re just being clowns. Frankie is most worried that Donny or Victoria win the veto, as it is “the most critical veto of the season”. Well, until next week. Derrck concludes this scene by saying that Zach is the person that should probably go up, but he’s keeping quiet for now.

On to more Donny material, as he is in the storage room having a little drink. Zach walks in to congratulate him on his victory, and Donny says that he hopes that Zach wins veto “for your sake”. Donny adds in the diary room that he knows that they pretend that Zach is in their clique, and hopes to gain his trust. He continues on to pump him up, and Zach says he’s starting to understand that his alliance may not be with him.

Zach then runs into the HOH room and hugs Frankie. He asks what would happen if Victoria won the veto and used it on Cody. If anybody else wins, Zach wants Victoria put up, and adds that Derrick probably beats anybody in the final two. Zach adds in the diary room that he understands that he’s made some mistakes and has riled people up, and Frankie’s smart move would be to go against either himself, Derrick, or Cody. “I’m just praying that he goes through with the plan to backdoor Victoria.”

After commercials, Donny makes a rare appearance in the HOH to talk about Team America. It’s so stupid. I’m sorry. They have to steal clothing, and then hold a neighborhood watch. “This will be a fun mission”, says Derrick. Um, no. There is then a montage of them stealing items before the segment ends.

Frankie then announces it’s time to draw for the veto competition. Frankie pulls Victoria, Cody gets Donny, and Derrick’s chip is for Christine. Uh oh, no Zach Attack in this competition.

In the bathroom, Caleb and Christine are bitching about Donny being chosen for the veto. “Un-beeee-lievable”, complains Christine. Caleb believes that if one of them isn’t saved, he will be the one to go home. The worst case scenario, obviously, is Victoria winning.

It’s time for more advice from Donny, as Zach is brushing his teeth in the bathroom. He tells Zach that Derrick and his pals don’t want to unload Victoria “because she’s weak in competitions. I’m hoping they don’t go for you.” He promises to try his best to win veto to make sure that Zach won’t go up.

Much of the house is now asleep when the front door suddenly opens. Yep, it’s Zingbot time! “You all look a whole lot better in person”, he (it?) says, and Donny wonders why the Zingbot is so nice this time around. “He ain’t acting right.”

“Donny, I like your beard but I wish it didn’t cover your handsome face. Props” Even Caleb is confused by this. Wait, that doesn’t take much.

The doorbell then rings, and in walks Kathy Griffin. Frankie squeals like a little school girl, and the Zingbot does a proper introduction. “I was watching the live feeds, and I got here as soon as I could. There is something seriously wrong with Zingbot. He’s only dishing out compliments. I’m here for a Zinger-vention...let me show you how it’s done.”

Caleb is first. “You and Amber have something in common. You think she’s drop dead gorgeous, and she wants you to drop dead.”

Now it’s Christine’s turn. “There’s a belief that glasses make people look smarter. Thanks for disproving that.”

Victoria - “I would zing you but I’m only supposed to zing people that are actually playing the game.”

“What do you call someone who’s not afraid to cry, wears pink, and cuddles with men? You call them Zach.” Zach acts pissed, and Kathy walks up to him. “Zing, asshole.” He says in the diary room that he’s not prepared for Kathy Griffin to tear him in shreds.

With that, the segment is over. Wait, what? Where was the zings against Derrick? Or, most importantly for those of us watching the feeds, Cody?

The actual competition happens after commercials, and Kathy is hosting. They have to “reboot” the Zingbot to his spiteful self by plugging in cables to provide electricity to a series of lightbulbs. The first to do so wins, and as Kathy adds, “let’s face it. You all kind of need it at this point.”

After the usual barrage of “we have to win” diary room segments, the game begins. And again, we have to hear a repeat of the rules, this time by Frankie. Why do they waste our time like this?

Frankie gets his first bulb lit, followed by Donny. Victoria, of course, is dead last through the whole competition. She’s a “dim bulb, literally’, says Griffin. Cody’s not doing much better. Donny pulls ahead, but Caleb begins to catch up. He’s smart, y’all. Donny then has a bit of trouble with the third bulb, so it’s between beastmode and Frankie. One of Frankie’s connectors falls off, but he goes back and fixes it before finally winning.

Yep, the true Zingbot comes back to life! “Frankie! That’s some nice tan, but I”m surprised you get any sun at all considering how much time you spend in your sister’s shadow!”

“This is the house of good looking dudes. There’s not one unattractive man in here. Oh wait, I didn’t see you there, Derrick!”

“Donny, your look is very Duck Dynasty. Too bad  your social game is more like Suck Dynasty!”

“Cody, your such a nice guy. You haven’t made any enemies this summer, except for maybe Christine’s husband!” POW!!!! Kathy gets a plug in for new comedy show, and is out the door.

After more commercials, Zach congratulates Frankie for his victory. Frankie says that some people wanted him to just let Caleb win, but he wanted Kathy Griffin to put the veto around his neck. Caleb joins them, and says he’s fine with that. Frankie asks if they’re going to keep him safe next week, and they both agree. In fact, Zach says he’ll keep him safe for two weeks.

We move on to Frankie laying in the HOH bed, and he’s talking about how it’s time for a big move. He needs to get out somebody who “has been bad for my game from the beginning.”

There’s some fluff before we get to that, though, as Cody can’t find his hat. Yep, it’s Team America time, and I have a feeling that it’s going to be a lighter, fluffier version. of what really happened. Caleb now notices that he’s missing his “fucking boots”, and Derrick  concludes there’s a “saboteur”. Zach’s gator shirt is also missing, and the house goes nuts.

Victoria is initially blamed, and Derrick decides to start the neighborhood watch. Frankie has now lost his glitter, and a house meeting is called. Derrick commences with the “BiB neighborhood watch”, and him and Derrick are excited about how easy this was to pass.

Zach starts screaming about how he needs his gator shirt, and the boys all run into the diary room. It’s still all fun and games, though, which is SOOOO not like how it actually went down.

Oh wait, maybe I’m wrong. Caleb then decides that the Saboteur has to be Zach, and Frankie plays along with it. Yep, we go back to the “Caleb is Amanda’s cousin”, and Frankie sees this as the opportunity to make it so Zach can go up.

Caleb is buying Frankie’s bullshit about how he has to be the saboteur, and the accusations begin to pile up. “You’re caught!” Zach says it’s not him. “We’ll show you Thursday you’re proven guilty.” Zach says there’s nothing he can do to prove he’s not the guy, and he’s correct.

It’s decided by Caleb to go look in the storage room garbage can, and sure enough that’s where all of the times are hidden. They all celebrate, but the damage has been done. Zach is still guilty without proof, and Frankie continues to play it up.

This is a pretty awful edit of what actually went down on Sunday night. Go back on this site and read what I wrote on that evening. It got ugly. Really ugly.,and Frankie proved to be a complete piece of garbage in the way he treated Zach. I’m not even one of those who worships at the feet of Zach, but Frankie crossed many lines that night. I’ll never respect him for this.

Here we go with what I promised at the beginning of this recap. Frankie hits all of his marks, and then calls the house in for the veto ceremony. Frankie then saves Caleb, and dressed in the worst Bieber costume ever, he goes into the worst rap ever:

“I’m going to take a page from my best friend Zach Attack,

But I’m going to do it better,

Cuz your shit was kind of wack

I love you so much and it would be fun for you to stay,

But if I don’t put you up,

I’m going to look cray cray.

So Zach my friend please go and have a seat

It’s time for you and Julie Chen to finally meet.”

Oh please. What a worm. Frankie says he expects “another Zach Attack, and most likely he’s going to throw every single one of us under the bus to each other. I know there’s going to be some fireworks coming.”

Cody babbles but I don’t hear what he says.

Frankie says he feels “betrayed” by Frankie. “I’ve been with this guy from day one, as friends; as an alliance member. I’ve had his back and this is how he treats me? It’s the worst feeling in the world.”

That’s it. The episode is over. What did you think? Are you upset with the Zach nomination? Or Frankie’s awful rap? Or how they edited down the Team America awfulness? Let us know what you think!

Tuesday Update - Better Late Than Never

Writing this up for posterity because really nothing has gone on today of note, however the last update was posted before the Power of Veto meeting on Monday so I wanted to note those results and mention the one big overnight result happening.

On Monday Zach knew the POV was going to be used and indeed it was.  Frankie ended up doing some poetry as he put Zach up  - I am sure CBS will highlight it.

The big even of the night happened close to midnight and I am going to keep it pretty brief and give you some times to go watch for yourself.

Monday - 10:55pm We see Victoria talking (super quiet whispering) with Cody and Christine.  She seems to be implying she wants to do something with Zach's "Signature" pink baseball cap.  They way she talks she has consulted with production and has been told what she can and can't do.  She feels like Zach has been harassing her and she wants to get him back.  Words alone won't do the trick so she intends on taking something from him the will really hurt.

An hour later - about 11:57pm she grabs the pink cap and runs off with it - we hear her call to Christine for a knife and the feeds cut to fish.  When they return 2 minutes later she is back sitting in the kitchen and we don't know exactly what happened.  About 12:07am Tuesday we hear that she cut the hat up and the next hour or more we watch Zach realize the hat is missing and he quickly figures out Victoria has done something with it.  She never tells him what she has done and also won't agree to give it back.

Now a note about the cap.  If the discussion from 8/12 at 2:31am is to be believed, Victoria brought the cap into the house and let Zach have it (before the feeds began we believe).  In that convo Zach seems to confirm with her that he can keep the cap and she doesn't want it back. I guess however production must consider it still 'owened' by Victoria.

The last bit to relate took place just before 12pm today - I think the time is around 11:57pm.  Victoria is alone and she grabs some foil - pulls what we see is a completely shredded pick cap out of her basket in the bathroom, wraps it in the foil and puts it back in the basket.  Not sure if she plans to show it to him later or just doesn't want to try to throw it away while he is in the house.

So there you go - our latest "Gate" - this one being "Hat Gate."

Monday Morning. POV Meeting Today - Team America sinks Zach.

Scott wrote up a good recap of most of the Team America crap from Sunday afternoon / evening so I won't dwell on it much.  I will just say that Team America's challenge to do a neighborhood watch continues as Derrick and Caleb are sitting up awake to protect things that aren't going to be disturbed.

The long and short of it is Zach will be going up later today in Caleb's place.

This was going to happen with or without the Team America fiasco, it just so happen that Derrick and Frankie (Donny is just along for the ride) decided to use thier challenge as a way to make everyone turn on Zach just a little bit more.

Zach's problem is he is impulsive and when confronted with something he is inocent of, rather than deny it he will get a smug look on his face and embrace it.  He said he was indeed Amanda's cousin when Team America accused him of it (Frankie brought it up again last night), he has said time and time again he may be gay (told Victoria he might be bi just that yesterday morning in what many saw as a joke since Vicky is extremely gullible).  The impulsiveness really cost him yesterday though as he, on a whim, took the cue ball from the pool table, put it inside Nicole's sweatshirt he was wearing, and hid it in the bathroom (Sunday 7:53pm), but Caleb saw him take it and called him out on it.  He has since denied he is a 'Saboteur' but the damage has been done.

Frankie did eventally tell Zach that he is indeed going up on the block today and being voted out this week (Rule check Big Brother - isn't that against the rules?).  Zach took it very well and told Frankie he'd be a fool not to put him up over Victoria who is no threat.  Interestingly enough Frnkie said he wouldn't consider putting up Derrick, the third option, because Derrick has nothing against him to deserve it.

Zach eventually went to bed but around 12:38am was apparently called to the DR by production.  It was blocked on the feeds but Caleb told several people about it over the next few minutes because he felt it was strange that BB said something like "Zach, you doing alright?"  Caleb felt he was being called in to get a new assignment as the 'Saboteur' - I'm guessing BB is a bit concenrned that Zach is upset after having the entire house yell at him all night for doing things he knows he didn't do.

I personally don't want this task to succeed.  My hope is Big Brother won't give them credit for "taking" Frankie's glitter and Christine's stuffed bear as I don't consider those articles of clothing as laid out in the rules Derrick read on Sunday's show.

Thats all I have for now.  As I type Derrick was alsone and now seems to be trying to get someone else up.  Team America can't be alone in the Night Watch task.

Wednesday, the I'm too busy to type a lot update.

As usually happens - Mid-August tends to slow down inside the Big Brother house and my "real" life gets busy.  However I know not all of you are more busy now and depend on this site for updates so I wanted to give you a little something so you don't feel you are missing much.  This will be VERY short but tell you what you need to know game-wise.

Last night Nicole started campaigning, but it looks to me like it is a lost cause.  She continually told those she talked to (Christine, Derrick, Cody, and maybe others) that it made no sense to keep Donny over her because Donny is going after some of them while she would promise to go after Frankie, Victoria and Zach (#1 was Frankie).  Even though Cody seems to keep saying he wants Donny out soon he wouldn't commit to keeping her.  Derrick gave the standard "if you have the numbers I'm with you" answer that should be a clear sign to her that its looking bad.

Derrick did do something that he did with Jocasta (but didn't have time to do with Hayden), he promised to let her know if she was staying or going right before the show.  Think of that as a game move.  One of these HGs is coming back and assuming Nicole goes Thursday both Nicole and Jocasta will have Derrick to thank for letting them know they were going when everyone else was not being honest with them.  So the player that comes back may see Derrick as the only one they can trust and the others still in Jury will see him as the only one that was honest with them in the end.  Its a great move on his part and no one else is doing it.

A lot of the conversation that went on overnight had to do with future plans, I'm not worried about that right now as they can plan all they want but it all changes depending on who wins what.  The important stuff to me at the moment is that Nicole seems to be heading home.  There is still a chance Derrick may change his mind if he feels he can save Nicole, because I think he would prefer Donny leave since Donny is the only remaining HG that constantly talks about Derrick and Derrick/Cody as being strong players (and the only two that have still never been nominated).  There have been 38 chances to be nominated and Derrick and Cody never have been.  Someone in the house needs to throw out that stat.  It says a lot.

This morning in a talk with Frankie Derrick told Christine and Frankie he thoguht the vote would be 6-0 to evict Nicole.  I'm still waiting to hear him waver and the Zach flip last week took place Wednesday evening so anything is possible still.  Just don't expect the unexpected this week.

Two other items....

An interesting idea tossed out by @Sunflo_BB to me via twitter today - will there be another double eviction?  Might CBS bring back TWO HGs with the extra long season (all of Sept this season instead of ending early Sept), and throw in a second double eviction?  While the chances are slim, its fun to think avout.

And finally - there has been loads of chatter on social media about Christine and Cody's flirty ways the last few weeks, some outraged that Christine is close to any male in the house since she is married.  My answer to that is what does it have to do with the game? I feel most of the 'hate' being thrown at Christine and her husband (leave HG family OUT OF IT folks) is because Christine's game is not helping their own favorite HGs game, whomever that might be.  (rief item here: Bustle.com - its worth a quick read and expresses similar opinions on the situation as mine.

Comment away or holler at me at @BBGossip on twitter.  Ash is online at Twitter @ashes2ashes13 - so make sure to follow here there and she will post again soon.  I can't come close to filling her shoes but wanted to give you an update :)
