Big Brother Gossip Show #807: Only the Good Die Young

It was supposed to be a short show. Come on, how could a week where Josh wins HOH create enough material for even two hours?

Yet something weird happened. Something that actually gives a glimmer of hope into this season. Josh's goal isn't what we expected. Maybe he's not just Paul's clone. Maybe he actually is thinking ahead in the game.

Tonight's show covers the weird twists and turns of the week. It covers how Christmas appears to have a dozen different personalities, and how what she does at one moment is simply not the same as what she says she's going to do two hours earlier. It's a strange period of time in the Big Brother house, and maybe the minions (or some of them at least) have some game plans of their own.

Tonight's show was so much fun, even if we may be struck down for some of our commentary. We really appreciate all of the support you guys give us every year, and if you want to help out please check out our Patreon site. We are including the various elements of Scott and Colette's Day Drinking spinoff show as part of this year's rewards, so we really hope you think about checking it out. Otherwise, you can find this show on iTunes, Stitcher, and all of the usual podcast sites.

Oh yeah, and it also helps us out a lot if you do some simple little things like retweet this post, or any post about the Big Brother Gossip Show. Or if you're a member of our Facebook group, hit that little share button.

  1. Cody's brother died in a motorcycle accident while he was in the Air Force... hardly "dying in military service" Colette. I served for 6 years in the Army and spent 18mo in Iraq, and with two people who didn't come back. I'm not gonna lie, the way you said that about Cody's brother really pissed me off. You made it seem like he died in combat and not on a deadly toy. I was trying to understand why you would do this, Colette, and the only thing that makes sense is that you want people to sympathize with Cody and not like Paul, or agree with you basically.

As an actual veteran, and not some self-serving asshole claiming to hold a candle for me, I wasn't offended by Paul and his minion's comments. I actually respect the strategy, because if Cody is mentally weak enough to be that easily manipulated, they should take advantage. That being said, I think that luring someone into a physical fight should be against the rules.

You guys spend so much of every show demonizong the people you don't like. This time Paul is bad because he's targeting people who targeted him... Do you listen to yourself, Colette? That's a ridiculous argument, of course he can target people coming after him, and of course he'll target the most competent enemies first.

Listen I'm not team Paul, but I respect his moves. I'm usually for the underdog, though in this case Jess and Cody are terrible at BB. They have no social game, they have the pity game from America, and that ain't worth shit to me. I respect gameplay and strategy. And I'll respect the hell out of whoever takes down Paul.

These one-sided arguments are tedious on your show. Someone needs to play devils advocate. There's no back and forth, it's just harping over and over again on the things you hate. It's probably why Scott is getting burned out. Too much work for so much negativity.

And stop picking favorites! Y'all preach it but don't actually practice it... The house is not the real world, there is no sense in holding people to the same standards. Especially when you hold some people to those standards (people you hate) and not others (your favorites). Additionally, things people say to the HOH you cannot take at face value. It's hard to tell what's smoke up the ass and what isn't.

    1. I'm a veteran also. Almost all the former military guys I know don't discuss their military experience that much and keep it to themselves. Certainly clinging to your dog tags after your service is weird as shit.

It might not be false valor but it sure as hell seems like exploitation.

    2. I agree Peter, it's not something that defines me. I buried one dog tag with my dad because my service was so important to him. And the other one is hanging in the closet somewhere with my College/HS tassels. Also have some stuff in a locker in my attic. That's about it.

But it's def still a big part of Cody's identity. Not sure why a guy like this would even ETS unless he wasn't given the option to reup, common in Marines plus with the downsizing. After hearing his no-friends confession and his doesn't-converse-with-family confession, I think the kid needs to talk to someone.

  2. I listen to the big brother gossip show every week and rely on you guys for live feed info. Just wondering if you had seen anytging early in the season where cody tried to kiss raven? I saw a youtube video where raven is talking to christmas and matt saying cody tried to kiss her. It seemed like she didnt get the reaction she wanted from matt and continued to say that he told her " it wouldnt work out anyways because you cant have kids" and this got matt angry. It seemed like classic raven begging for attention...

    1. I think Raven is lying about that. She claims it was in the first week.
