The Night Owl - Friday Night

Cody won the veto and Frankie is leaving! I repeat, CODY WON VETO AND FRANKIE IS LEAVING!!!

Even though Frankie's eviction will come too late in the season to really make us feel much better about it, at least he won't be making it to the final 2.  After the morph comp was played tonight, we learned that Cody had improved his time on this one by more than 10 minutes bringing him the win.  Everyone except Frankie took turns telling Victoria that she is completely safe now and that Frankie is definitely going home. Frankie danced around talking about how he wanted another rewind button and sarcastically talking about how he was "so happy he pushed the button last week."  Frankie has not been officially told he is the target, and he says that he knows that the boys won't screw him over, but I think he probably has a decent idea that he may be the one going home.

Cody immediately wanted to go ahead and give him the "there is no hope" talk (which I thought was a fantastic idea) and Victoria wanted to start telling Frankie off, but Derrick, being the fun police and the drama smasher that he is, doesn't want them to tell him.  He has agreed that they MAYBE should tell him later after the veto ceremony etc.. but he does not want it said yet.  Unfortunately that means we probably won't see them tell him, because the feeds will likely go down Monday morning to record Tuesday's show, and the guys all think they have until Thursday to tell him.

The only other thing worth noting that happened today was a conversation between Frankie and Derrick that implied that if a member of Team America wins the game, they get an additional $50k.  After Tuesday, Derrick will be the only TA member still available to win, but I'm not terribly happy about the idea of him getting an entire second place prize added to his first place prize in addition to his $20K he made from TA tasks and the $5k he won in the comp.  That will give him a $575K total winnings if he wins BB.  I really don't think screaming about fake mice, and making up rumors about HGs being related to other HGs is worth $50K, but that's just me.  In addition to that, I'm afraid that they just won't do America's Favorite Player this year since they are handing out TA money like it grows on trees, and I think it would be kind of sad if we never got the chance to show the HGs who we ACTUALLY liked vs the fact that Frankie and Derrick think they are adored because they are on Team America.

That's about it for tonight though.  I probably will not update again until after the Weds show when the feeds come back as there probably won't be much happening until then.  At that point the final 3 will be in place and Frankie and possibly Caleb if he doesn't win POV will be gone.  As always you guys can follow me @ashes2ashes13 on twitter for more overnight updates. Until next time...

  1. It looks to me like Derrick is going to change his strategy and keep Frankie now because of the $50k thing. I'm not usually a conspiracy theorist, but this $50k magically coming out when Frankie is basically assured of going home seem like major production interference. It's kind of sickening and makes me feel like I wasted 3 months watching a rigged game. (I've never said the game is rigged before, I know a lot of people say that every year. But, seriously come on, how could Derrick not keep Frankie now.)

  2. But why would it make Derrick keep Frankie? It would be more reason to get rid of him to get the extra 50k...

  3. Why would Derrick want to keep Frankie now, Mary? Only the TA member who wins gets $50k, and it has nothing to do with Frankie being there. If anything this will make Derrick want him out more as he is now Derrick's only competition for an extra $50k. I agree that things were slanted in Frankie's favor for most of the game, but I doubt CBS cares if he leaves now. They only have a week left and have made their money. Derrick has not once faltered and acted like keeping Frankie was an option. In fact he is consistently staying on Caleb's ass to make sure that Caleb continues to want Frankie out and constantly reassuring Victoria that she is safe.

  4. Oh, I misunderstood. I'm so glad!! The recap I initially read (not on this site) said that if one of them won then BOTH of them would get an extra $50k. Kind of like an TA mission of "one of you wins and the you're both rewarded." I'm so glad I'm wrong. :) I guess my first BB conspiracy theory didn't last long ;).

  5. I have tried to keep up with live feed updates this season, but unfortunately have not. With regard to you saying "who we REALLY like"... who do we really like? I like Derrick, but also Cody. What is it that we don't like abiut Derrick winning?

  6. Well one down, one to go. I'm really rooting for both TA A holes to get the boot now. I just don't get where TPTB heads are at. Don't they get that we're not that into the remaining TA members? It's like they want to rub our noses in it.

  7. Holli, Derrick has had a significant hand in knocking out most of everyone's favorite players this season (which I think is the biggest reason for any possible distaste for him from BB fans). I'm a huge fan of his game play, though, I've found it fascinating to watch him work over the last 3 months. He'd be incredibly deserving if he can finish it off.

  8. If Frankie does go home I will dye my hair pink, bleach my asshole (which I am sure Frankie does), bounce off the walls, dance a jig, start a twitter account, become an internet mogul, say I'm the greatest person who ever lived, and talk about myself incessantly for 48 hours straight. But... I thought what Frankie and Derrick said between themselves was that if they are BOTH there as the final 2 there will be an additional $50K going to the winner (only)? And logically, that seems more likely the deal the producers were trying to bribe Derrick with so that Frankie would stay.

  9. What I mean by "who we really like" is that if Derrick wins, he will get $525k and would not be eligible for America's Favorite Player. We could then give that reward to a fan favorite like Donny or Zach. I feel like by giving Derrick a bonus of $50k, they will very likely NOT give out the $25k for AFP, and I don't like that. I think that Derrick has earned enough for his TA tasks. His game itself is great and he has played hard, but I've never been a fan of TA, and I don't think it's worth an extra $50k. Derrick is also lacking in the entertainment department.

Benferro, that's def not how the TA thing works. We don't know the exact details for sure because it's Frankie and Derrick talking, and they read the cards wrong all the time, but after twitter went crazy about them getting money if they both make it to the end, producer Chris Roach tweeted to Shelly from BB 13 "that is not correct". So we do know that both of them making it to the end is not what gets them a bonus.

  10. Thank you, Ash (and so glad to see the return of the Night Owl, which is what I look for first thing every morning BB is on).

I can see AG trying frantically to save her pink pet, including throwing a bloody Pandora s box in before the eviction.

Derrick is dull for drama, but he is really playing well. We know Dan is rooting for him, wonder if Dr. Will is, or any of the other real players (sorry, but not counting the pet players BB tried to rig the game for, and you can guess who that could be).

  11. If he keeps Frankie just to win that $50K,he should walk out now.

  12. Thank you George and Ash.

I didn't think Derrick was very fun to watch, but his game play is spot on! (imo) I also like Donny and Zach. For me to say that is huge because I am FSU Alumni. ;)

Thanks for all you do Ash!

  13. Derrick play this game so well. He makes sure the drama is minimized. He knows that with drama comes emotion and with emotion comes irrational thinking. With irrational thinking comes poor decision and actions all that could draw attention to or away from his targets and to his allies making him weaker.By keeping it under control he has been able to almost hand pick who goes each week. The jury is now comparing notes and realizing he has played them all. They don't seem mad. With Frankie there seems to be a little more displeasure with his game by the jury. I hope he goes this week but between the producers and douchebag mode cowboy weird shit can make it change.

  14. Why tell Frankie, he should get the "Operation Brittany" (blindside him with his voteout) he loves for others but fears himself. Appreciate the updates and the podcast.

  15. Only ONE member of Team America, ever, gets the card in the diary room announcing their next task. Then they share it with the other. SO - what if Frankie made it all up? What if Frankie told Derrick that they would each win $50K if they both made it to final two in order for Frankie to get Derrick to vote to keep him? Tricky and sneaky, but could work.

  16. Derrick has played a good game but has offered zero entertainment as a houseguest. If he wins, it is well deserved but as far as winners go, he will be forgettable.
